<blockquote>Too bad the US Hispanic population bought into Obama’s crap.

This is like saying "Whites overwhelmingly voted for Obama".
Isnt that equally true?
So I could say "Too bad Whites bought into Obama's crap"?

Slightly OT

I see on Drudge a link to a story on how Chavez is going to charge people demonstrating in the streets with rebellion, which carries a sentence of 12 to 24 years in prison.

Anyone planning to attend a demonstration on 9/12 be advised.

[...] As Ed Morrisey asks: The US should be on the side of self-determination and the rule of law. Instead, we’ve ended up on the side of power-grabbing future despots and potential ruling cliques of nepotism. How did this happen, and why hasn’t the national media shined its light on Arias’ interests in this dispute? Could it be that it would make Obama look like a bumbling fool on the international stage — or worse? [...]

<blockquote>However, the most disturbing aspect of <strike>Arias’</strike> Obama's call was his harsh criticism of the <strike>media</strike> insurance industry, pharmaceutical industry, doctors... Borrowing from the script of Rafael Correa in Ecuador and Hugo Chávez in Venezuela, <strike>Arias</strike> Obama described <strike>news outlets</strike> anything not controlled by government as “corporations interested in making a profit” that don’t necessarily pursue the “public good.”</blockquote>

This does explain why Arias wasn't acting as an honest broker when everyone assumed that he would.

Maybe someone can explain why having a bunch of leftist caudillos would represent progress in Central America.

Interesting, that's the same exact phrase the White House used when they called Glenn Beck.

Well if Arias has a strong Socialist bent then you can count on Barak The Socialist Obama to lend support and meddle in their country's affairs to grease the skids. If on the other hand there existed a Barak The Scoop Jackson Democrat Obama, Arias would be told to respect his country's laws and allow the people to elect a new leader, even it it someone who might carry on Arias agenda. Unfortunately, other than Liebermann, there are no more Scoop Jackson Democrats left alive. It's also why I don't vote Democrat anymore.

Sort of like watching the night lineup at LAX where you can see all the planes lining up to land, one after another. I think Obama Air is 4 or 5 planes out. They are all following the same flight/game plan.

On my website I write about this a number of times. Why do you think Obama is so enamored with Chavez? Chavez is leading a revolution across South and Central America, one that Obama would love to follow.

We are living in dangerous times.

<blockquote>The US should be on the side of self-determination and the rule of law. Instead, we’ve ended up on the side of power-grabbing future despots and potential ruling cliques of nepotism. How did this happen, and why hasn’t the national media shined its light on Arias’ interests in this dispute? Could it be that it would make Obama look like a bumbling fool on the international stage — or worse?</blockquote>
I'll take "or worse" for $500, Ed.

As for the "how", birds of a feather corrupt together.

<blockquote>And the answer to that, for Arias and Zelaya as well as Chavez, Ortega, and the Castros, is to make the presidency less accountable to the other political institutions. We’ve seen how well that works in Cuba , Nicaragua, and Venezuela.
<strong>Could we add Obama and his csars?</strong>

We need some very vocal people in Congress to question Obama's and the State Department's treatment of Honduras, as well as its position vis a vis Costa Rica.

The opinion piece in the WSJ online makes a further case:

From all appearances, it seems that Obama agrees with the dictator Chavez and the newest power-grabber Arias.

Escape the oppression and exploitation of socialism by staying home and John Galt so the Barry crowd cannot steal the fruit of your labor. Organize to vote them socialists out. Save up now so you can go John Galt as long as it is needed.
