Forget “death panels” as such. The determination of ongoing treatment is as PC as I want to get in describing this. Nevertheless, if, as in Obutwaittheresmore’s own words, giving Granny pain meds instead of a hip replacement is carried to it’s logical conclusion, someone attempting suicide should just be allowed to succeed? Don’t call the cops, don’t send the rescue squad, they would take up valuable mental health resources and will probably only try again. And certainly, using the logic of the pro-abortion debaters, don’t they have say-so regarding their own bodies? And they’re not likely to be productive if they do live, seeing how they must be “disturbed”.

I’m sure I’ve missed something here. Please, do fill in the gaps.

He is a bigot. Remember he was “THE one and only” Christian leader running for president. He also disparaged Romney’s faith with his hate speech coded in bigoted Christian speak.

Huckabigot talk a good game, but in reality he is simply a reason how some in the religious right have corrupted the republican party.

And Huck has been on about this for weeks. People might not notice this, but if you search through TV Newser, you’ll see that he gets the top cable news ratings of the day every week with his show, often outscoring competing networks’ combined ratings. LOTS of people have heard about this because Huck has been a committed opponent of Obama’s policies, unlike Mittens the bailout lover. All you fools hanging out hope for Romney in 2012 or beyond can forget it. He supported the bailouts, passed his own Universal Healthcare in MA, and refused to criticize Obama on the financial bailout management and the GM takeover. NO THANK YOU. Whoever is claiming to run for the conservative votes will air plenty of commercials that will ruin Mitt’s claims this time around. He had his chance as the favorite and totally blew it. Huck helped blow his cover, and for that I thank him.

Meh. I’d consider letting Charles Manson take over right now as opposed to what we have. To my thinking, he’d probably kill less people,spend most of the day stoned and shagging a hippie chick. I don’t want Mitt or Huck as a choice, but I’d damn sure vote for either of them over any Democrat.

I don’t think so. As far as I know, people of Kennedy’s age under Medicare get this kind of treatment. When people speak of rationing, it’s really about “non-life threatening” treatment. You can throw in preventative medicine to that mix too. The whole end of life planning thing is an attempt to cut care, but only shall we say “wasteful” care that occurs when people don’t make their wishes known and are kept alive an extra week when, if they had thought about it, would not have wished for that.

Palin pushed this kind of planning as governor of alaska. Republican congressmen have pushed this kind of planning in bills. It’s incredibly hypocritical for them to suddenly start with the death panel talk. Intellectually dishonest and broke.

The “end of life counseling” IS NOT the death panels of which Sarah, and other intelligent and informed people are talking about. Let me say this again, the “end of life counseling” are NOT the death panels.

The death panels are the bean counters who will demand that the plan save money, which will most certainly lead to rationing.

The death panels are those who decides who will be worthy of health care, and who won’t. Read Dr Ezekiel Emanuel’s thoughts on who should be treated and who shouldn’t. Here’s a hint, anyone under 20 and over 50 can be reasonably sure if they have a chronic disease, or a life threatening one, they are screwed!

You’re idea that health care for only “non-life threatening” illnesses will be rationed, is misguided. It will be the life saving, expensive measures that will be rationed the most. It happens in every country that has socialized medicine.

As for Sarah, that is a really sad and tired liberal spin you have there.

Yes, she encouraged her citizens to be aware of living wills. But that’s as far as it went. She didn’t try to be the third person in the room with DR and patient. In Obamcare, there will be a government agent involved.

But again, end of life counseling has nothing whatsoever to do with death panels.
