“Lanny Davis, a prominent Washington attorney who represents the Honduran Latin American Business Council,” isn’t this the same unabashedly shrill shill for the Clintons? Is he pulling SecState Hillary’s chestnuts out of the fire by championing this half-assed, half-baked solution whereby a legitimate “Roberto Micheletti, the interim president selected by the Honduran parliament,” must step down to let this megalomaniacal Zelaya return and remain a cancer to the body politic of Honduras. Bad enough to suspend US aid to Honduras of $150M but perfectly alright to send $900M to Hamas. Smart Power has left the building (if it ever entered in the first place).

The interim president of Honduras has offered the man he replaced after a June coup the chance to return to the country on the condition that both renounce claims to the presidency, a negotiator said Thursday.

Just because it needs to be hammered home, it wasn’t a coup.

Obama put the full weight of the U.S. government against the people of Honduras and they are now starting to cave. If it were me, I wouldn’t let that wannabe dictator back in the country ever. And I surely wouldn’t have the interim president resign.
Hope the Blue Dog Democrats hold up better than the Hondurans after Obama pressures them.

It’s worse. It’s another indication of their ‘respect’ for constitutions and rule of law. Those are impediments to tyranny and they don’t feel comfortable with that prospect.
