Love the photo of Hill! Great view! Other than that, words fail me at how disturbing and alarming it is, not only that Obama, but Hillary and many other prominent parts of the govt are turning their backs on the people of Honduras and democracy at work there, in favor of their like minded dictator style of a leader. But, there is no one anywhere, besides the blogosphere and talk radio who either knows or cares. Congress is too busy trying to ram H/c down our throats, the Senate too busy trying look like they are gonna pass some that will make their constituents not hate them and please Obama at the same time.

OK, it sucks because its political, but I’m going to go against the grain here…

Foreign aid/assistance does not work, tends to prop up corrupt and/or socialist governments and programs and is a form of foreign welfare that has not raised people out of abject poverty . . . despite the huge burden on American taxpayers. Besides, I don’t believe all forms of foreign aid are cut off by this decision – I’m pretty sure there are exemptions and waivers. Now, if we can only get the USG to stop giving foreign aid to the dozens of other foreign countries, especially those that don’t like us very much.

I know it is not possible to make up all the threatened lost funding, but couldn’t conservative groups launch a campaign to raise funds for Honduras. This is a disgrace. I thought that the State Department getting out of negotiations was their way of saving some face after the terrible mistake of siding with Chavez in the first place. But coming back to this, first cutting the visas for Honduras and now giving them a big middle finger is a disgrace.

By the way, have you heard some of the latest news from Barry’s favorite dictator? Chavez in Venezuela just passed a resolution that effectively makes all children property of the state once they get to their 3rd birthday. Part of their obligations once they are owned is to serve in community services. 1984 anyone?

Mmmm… “community service”… I know I have heard that before. Isn’t there a new president somewhere who wants everyone to serve?
