Quote of the day

posted at 10:30 pm on August 25, 2009 by Allahpundit

“As White House senior adviser David Axelrod puts it, the president dislikes it when ‘folks try to get him to wear baseball gear for teams other than the White Sox.’

Other issues are related to the schedule and scrutiny of living in presidential bubble. He doesn’t like to miss his daily workout, which usually takes place in the morning or before an evening event. ‘If there’s no workout time, he’ll get a little upset,’ said one senior aide who has worked with Obama for more than four years…

Obama also confessed recently that one of his biggest pet peeves is what he calls ‘the shine police’ — aides and makeup artists who powder his face before he does television. ‘You notice that even before this interview, they constantly want to powder my nose and forehead and it’s never enough — that I find quite irritating,’ Obama told The Associated Press…

Another senior aide agrees: ‘If people aren’t prepared, if ideas are half-baked, he gets a little annoyed because he feels like he could be using his time better.’ People who don’t communicate directly and speechwriters who give him ‘wishy-washy’ language also get a thumbs-down.”

They changed the law in MA when they thought John Farsworth Magillicutty Kerry was a shoe-in for the WH and Mitt was Gov. Unless they changed it back, they have to do a special election.

Woah, Kennedy died:

May he rest in peace.

However, may he _not_ be an impetus towards the passage of the Health Care Bill.

battleoflepanto1571 on August 26, 2009 at 3:16 AM

FYI – from CBS

Mass. Gov. Deval Patrick must set a date for a special election to occur between 145 and 160 days from now to fill the vacancy created by Kennedy’s death. The two likely dates for a special election would be on the Tuesdays that fall within this range: January 19, 2010 and January 26, 2010.

Thanks to a law change in 2004, Gov. Patrick is not allowed to appoint a temporary replacement, meaning that seat will be vacant until the special election.

Teddie & Kerry sent a letter to Gov. Patrick on Saturday requesting that their own law be suspended so that a Dem. can just be appointed to save the seat.

*to the tune of “Oh Mandy”*

I hardly remember Ms. Kopenchke’s life,
Falling into that water cold as ice,
Swimming to the shore,
Face pressed to the window,
Went home that night,
The night goes into

Mourning, liberals everywhere are sad now
So they’ll try to pass HR3200 in your memory
Looking at the madness in their eyes
I see a sickness
That makes me realize
How awful you made things

Oh Teddy you came and you took and kept on taking
But dang it now you’ve gone away
Oh Teddy you weren’t ever as popular as your brothers
But that didn’t stop you from trying
Oh Teddy But now you’ve finally gone their way
Oh how you pissed me off and made me crazy,
So is it too vulgar to say good riddance oh yay?
(yeah maybe)
Oh Teddy

The Senate won’t be the same without you
But we still got Harry, Dick, Chuckie and Chris
But they won’t be there much longer
Only we’ll get rid of them the honest way
Not waiting for Mr. Reaper to come and take them away
Like he did for you

Oh Teddy, you took and you took and you took
But I guess I forgive you
Oh who am I kidding? I’m kinda glad you kicked the bucket you kook
Yeah, yeah, I know that’s an awful thing to say but admit it
You were thinking it too
But am I feeling misty eyed for that fat guy from Chappaquiddick…?

Naaaaaaaah.

Oh Teddy

One of my little first grade students from last year had a daddy in Afghanistan, hawkdiver. She was so proud of him, but missed him sooooo much. Our Commander in Chief might not like his jerseys or nose powder, but he gets to hug his kids more days than not.

Thank you for your brave service. I think of you and other honorable men and women in service daily.

“if ideas are half-baked”

He’s a leftist. All his ideas are half baked.

This is off topic, but in a way it is relevant. Bernie Goldberg found this bit of information about George Bush:

Until now, the controversy over the Rather/Mapes story has centered almost entirely on one issue: the legitimacy of the documents – a very important issue, indeed. But it turns out that there was another very important issue, one that goes to the very heart of what the story was about – and one that has gone virtually unnoticed. This is it: Mary Mapes knew before she put the story on the air that George W. Bush, the alleged slacker, had in fact volunteered to go to Vietnam.

Who says? The outside panel CBS brought into to get to the bottom of the so-called “Rathergate” mess says. I recently re-examined the panel’s report after a source, Deep Throat style, told me to “Go to page 130.” When I did, here’s the startling piece of information I found:

Mapes had information prior to the airing of the September 8 [2004] Segment that President Bush, while in the TexANG [Texas Air National Guard] did volunteer for service in Vietnam but was turned down in favor of more experienced pilots. For example, a flight instructor who served in the TexANG with Lieutenant Bush advised Mapes in 1999 that Lieutenant Bush “did want to go to Vietnam but others went first.” Similarly, several others advised Mapes in 1999, and again in 2004 before September 8, that Lieutenant Bush had volunteered to go to Vietnam but did not have enough flight hours to qualify.

These two men, Obama and Bush are such different people.

You are ridiculous. First, what you or anyone else says here reflects only on the commenter. HotAir is defined by it’s owners. Second, if imagined association with anyone here brings you discomfort, I think you know how to fix that. Your moral superiority is as unjust as it is undeserved. Try bringing something to the conversation other than condemnation of your fellow commenters. Have a great day.

No wonder Dan Rather is hanging around the WH so much. He wants his treat after the trick

macncheez on August 26, 2009 at 7:00 AM

Odd.

progressoverpeace on August 26, 2009 at 4:57 AM

Why do you think it’s odd? Progressives are disappointed in Dems or that they would use the opportunity to push their agenda?

I’ve got a call in for the half barrel, the food is coming, we’ll have a cake and decorations. I’ve been planning this party for forty years!

Finally…the Kennedy curse is broken!!!

Poor Barack. It’s so tedious dealing with inferior life forms.

Obama doesn’t like wearing sports gear for political fakery?

That generates two thoughts: Hillary always was a Yankee Fan (hee hee) and; why does it embarass he of the fake halos and foam pillars to use sport’s gear as props? Well when you’re a messiah, it’s a step down, to being just a sport’s fan. Walking on water is even better than wearing Air Jordans.

Aww, boo hoo hoo. What a little baby this guy is! He doesn’t think he has more important things to think about than baseball uniforms and workouts.

I agree with Obama! Half-baked ideas, pomp, forced ideaology and changing my personal routine all annoy me.

But I’m just a commoner while he’s wiser and such wisdom entitles one to more. /sarcasm

shick on August 26, 2009 at 7:30 AM

He should bitch,he of the half baked ideas.
The writers are clearer as is TOTUS,man is EMPTIE and now we will have endless teddism all week, a pressing need to pass health reform. Tort reform and the release of the records from the pond might be more in order.
Does axelrod even read his stuff??

Another senior aide agrees: ‘If people aren’t prepared, if ideas are half-baked, he gets a little annoyed because he feels like he could be using his time better.’ People who don’t communicate directly and speechwriters who give him ‘wishy-washy’ language also get a thumbs-down.”

A real victim of our culture. This guy needs a couch, not a throne.

I swear that I had an apolitical psychiatrist tell me about The One’s obvious mental health issues. The good doctor’s favorite magazine is The Economist, for goodness sake. I asked him to watch MSNBC for an evening so he could collect the other cases to have a real challenge in a fantasy therapy gtoup.

BYW they are claiming that people died during CIA interrogation. I learned this during the 3.5 minutes of Countdown I watched.

‘If people aren’t prepared, if ideas are half-baked, he gets a little annoyed because he feels like he could be using his time better.’

Funny because I feel the same way when I listen to him.

So, does this means that even Barack Obama can’t stand himself?
