Marine who went nuclear on Democrat: “The swastika is on their own arm”

posted at 7:16 pm on August 25, 2009 by Allahpundit

Via Greg Hengler, a palate cleanser starring conservatives’ newest grassroots hero. Disabled vet, passionate about small government, renowned for delivering juicy cuts of rhetorical red meat: Why not run him against Brian “Brownshirts” Baird next year? Sure, the Nazi comparison is offensive, but Baird and company started it. Let them spend the campaign defending it.

Since he mentioned Pelosi, this seems like a fine opportunity for our Nan-bashing quote of the day. Which stalwart Republican said this: “I would not vote for her. Someone that divisive and that polarizing cannot bring us together.” Answer here.

That’s OK. It’s now in two places for crr6 to see it and comment.

I’m not holding my breath. Liberals slide further into selective reading when facts begin to impinge upon their argument.

I would suspect that if one were able to calculate the odds on crr actually forming a cogent reply, they would be very small.

LOL.

Yoop on August 25, 2009 at 9:31 PM

Yeah I saw that. Sheehan was locked in a campaign with Pelosi, so they had an obvious incentive to blame the incident on her in order to make her look bad, an incentive apparently lost on you.

Their guess is as good as yours or mine. I don’t think a Speaker of the House would do something like that, as it would inevitably backfire. I’d be more inclined to think thugs from your side would do it.

crr6 on August 25, 2009 at 10:56 PM

You truly are a piece of work. You are bought and paid for. You really cannot think for yourself. Do you not get he was playing on the left’s use of the Nazi card?

Yep, and now that he has his nice little platform on Hannity he’s more than happy to ratchet up the rhetoric and preach to the choir of morons. Like you.

But everyone else also can recognize that understanding Occam’s razor is not your strong point, nor is it of most liberals.

This Marine was right on. Who is Obama to tell anyone they get to keep their insurance? Oh really, can I keep my husband, and my kids too? Who the hell do these people think they are!

And crr6, you’ve been getting your ass kicked for some time now. Maybe time to say nite nite.

Fighton03 on August 25, 2009 at 11:36 PM

You mean like appearing on Hannity and spouting more “Nazi” rhetoric?

crr6 on August 25, 2009 at 9:19 PM

Here’s what I don’t understand about this whole Nazi talk back and forth (which Pelosi started and Baird continued). It makes no sense whatsoever to talk about those citizens attending townhalls voicing their strong dissent (even in some very strong terms) at our federal government as brownshirts and using fascist-like tactics. It’s absurd because the Nazis and their brownshirt thugs were pushing the agenda and had the backing of the central government. It was, of course, a one Party rule that was ruthlessly squashing dissent throughout the country. If historical accuracy is of any interest, it would be impossible for y’all to describe our dissenters whose grievances are aimed at our current one Party rule (by default) in this country as Nazis or brownshirts.

It’s Orwellian.

anuts on August 25, 2009 at 11:40 PM

Complaining and confronting fascism does not make one a fascist.

anuts on August 25, 2009 at 11:41 PM

I think NAZI is too strong. Obama is more like another megalomaniac, Mussolini. I like to call Barry “El Duce”.

However, to get even closer, you really only need to look south to Venezuela and Chavez. Study ALBA. Chavez has managed to undermine his nation, steal the wealth, damage the media, and control the populace. He and Cuba exported the same techniques to Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Honduras. Honduras threw the President and his agenda out. They remember what it was like to be ruled by dictators, something our spoiled nation has forgotten.

Here is the link to the map.

The trolls have really done a number on this thread.

1. Am I wrong or is the Marine not a democrat and the other guy not a marine but a conservative leaning democrat? Some posters have been saying the Marine is a democrat, is that true? The “stalwart republican” is actually a conservative leaning democrat and the two men really have nothing to do with each other, right? I don’t know this thread is such a mess I think I’ll just give it a rest.

2. This welcome_freaks guy needs the boot. I’ve seen people get banned for much less. Guess I’ll send the email and see what happens.

Blue Collar Todd on August 26, 2009 at 12:16 AM

I think their is still a racial component although not quite as blatant or nefarious in motivation. I certainly think they believe there are a different set of standards between the races when it comes to outcomes (social justice) and even application of law (the empathy card). I also think what seperates them with Nazism is the brutality.

I cannot, however, seperate it with a more generic Fascism (Spain or Italy of same era).

This troll was so obvious and blatant with the offering of ban-worthy posts that I suspect an ulterior motive at work.

I have the sense that some of them wait outside the door for it to open (open registration). After admittance the troll runs back to DKOS, DU, or wherever, and they start a pool as to how many posts it can get in before being banned.

Somebody just won the pool.

You guys sure didn’t mind going after a women who’d lost her son in the Iraq war. It’s odd that you’re not up in arms about people with “absolute moral authority” speaking out on public policy now.

crr6 on August 25, 2009 at 8:11 PM

The property damage mentioned in your article was and is always disgusting and should never be encouraged. I can say with 100% certainty that it was not done from anyone who are true conservatives. Ownership and property rights being cornerstone of a conservative mantra does not allow for that behavior…no matter what one would call him/herself.

Another thing of interest about this though is your concern over some idiot vandals taking priority over the full weight of government backed thuggery.

They know full well that if they attempted to exhibit the same manners in a face-to-face confrontation there would be a dramatic rise in the instances of trollacide.

1 suspect in custody following Dem HQ vandalism in Denver

A 24-year-old arrested this morning on suspicion of smashing 11 windows at Colorado Democratic Party headquarters tried to conceal his identity while allegedly committing the crime, according to police descriptions.

Maurice Schwenkler wore a shirt over his face, a hooded sweat shirt and latex gloves before he and another man fled the scene on bicycles, police said. Schwenkler was apprehended after a short chase. The other suspect remains at large.

While Schwenkler does not appear in the state’s voter registration database, a person by that name in November 2008 received $500 from a political 527 committee called Colorado Citizens Coalition for “communications,” according to campaign finance disclosures.

The accountant for the 527 appears to be the same woman who handles the books for many other Democratic-leaning political committees.

A Maurice Schwenkler also signed an online 2005 petition to free anti-war Christian protesters who were captured in Iraq.

Any comment, crr6?

A gaffe has been famously defined as when you accidentally speak the truth. Here, Simpleton makes the usual liberal gaffe, mistakenly admitting that he thinks military leaders aren’t “paid to think”.

Thanks for so clearly announcing both your ignorance of and contempt for the military.

AP, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to let people know what they can be banned for. The “Terms of Use” isn’t very specific, and, frankly, quite a bit of the stuff here could be considered “off-topic or defamatory, abusive … [or] offensive” depending on your views.

crr6 on August 25, 2009 at 10:58 PM

Actually the Marine did not engage in the use of rhetoric. You should check the definition.

He put forward his opinion and evaluation of the true national socialists among us and suggested they should probably avoid calling other people brown shirts.

AP misquotes him. The Marine said Bairds and friends should probably avoid that conversation or they might find the swastikas were on their arms.

Which stalwart Republican said this: “I would not vote for her. Someone that divisive and that polarizing cannot bring us together.”

You say “stalwart Republican” like it’s a joke, yet from the article:

Griffith represents a conservative district in Alabama that had been long held by former Rep. Bud Cramer (D), who retired after nine terms. Griffith is one of the most conservative Democrats in the House and has bucked leadership and the White House on healthcare and other issues.

Griffith told constituents that only Blue Dog Democrats could prevent the healthcare bill from moving forward in the House, The Huntsville Times reported. He said that conservative Republicans couldn’t stop Democratic priorities.

So while this guy does have a D by his name, he’s conservative and apparently dedicated to stopping Democratic priorities. He’s probably opening the field for a potential party switch depending on how the winds are shifting come next election.

Basically for this guy to diss Pelosi is about as remarkable as any Republican dissing her. Not very.

Sometimes I wonder if you guys bother to actually read the articles before you link to them.

Allahpundit on August 26, 2009 at 12:07 AM

I think the guy’s comment was stupid, and I’m not sorry to see him banned. But if you’re going to ban on the basis of that sort of rhetoric, I suspect we’ll be seeing a lot of bans of commenters who say far worse things about liberals and progressives. I welcome a stricter policing of the comments, since the signal-to-noise ratio is incredibly low. However, I have a feeling your itchy ban finger isnt related to the type of rhetoric but to the target.
