Video: Marine goes nuclear on Democrat over ObamaCare

posted at 4:48 pm on August 22, 2009 by Allahpundit

Via, er, HotAirPundit, red meat courtesy of the good folks who hijacked our last thread. The Democrat in question is Brian “Brown Shirts” Baird, thus the pounding he takes here is extra gratifying. Not sure I follow the Marine’s point about what right the feds have to tell him he can keep his insurance plan, though. Presumably he’s making a Commerce Clause argument a la Rivkin and Casey, but if growing weed on your own farm for your own use constitutes “quintessentially” economic activity, wouldn’t a program that affects 15 percent of the entire U.S. economy also qualify? If the public wants single-payer, hey — that’s democracy, red in tooth and claw.

Why do forget to hold those we elect to fulfilling their promises the day after they win? And when they are in office we do not follow their actions to insure they are living up to what they promised us?

The more you dig into the reality of how they use the clauses in totally unrelated laws to cause to relieve us of our funds for their own use to save the world from U.S.

Every member of the Armed Forces is required to swear and support the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Hence, the defense of the Constitution is embodied within the character and integrity of every military man and woman. It is in their very fiber, and at their core. David Hedrick sees his actions, with this Congressman, as no different than conducting a raid, patrol, beach landing or checkpoint on a road. They are one in the same.

We in the military carry the Constitution in our hearts, and the oath we took very literally. Our defense of the Constitution does not begin when the ship leaves the shore, or the C-17 departs our homebase for a distant outpost. Our defense of the Constitution is continuous, against ALL enemies foreign AND domestic. David Hedrick sees this Congressman as violating the Constitution, and is essentially a domestic enemy. These domestic enemies are now on notice. You are being identified, you are being studied, you are being targeted, and your fate is now sealed. The true defenders of the Constitution and the freedoms and liberties it, and the Declaration, help define, vastly outnumber the enemies–and the enemies of the Constitution are now in full view.

We shall find you, we shall identify you, and we will defeat you. The Little Home for the Former Congressman is going to be awfully full next year—and then we’re going to cut the budget for that place.

mark OUR words…

Truer words have never been spoken. I might add that that oath does not go away either, even after we take off our uniforms and have left the service.

Oh and the New Home for the Former Congressman will be Leavenworth Prison.

We find ourselves in the midst of rumblings.

Rumblings of protestations due to misrepresentation.
…Of lines being drawn, and limits reached.
…..Of last straws, and last nerves.

After many years…Many many years…Of a great people being ignored, and an elected body abusing both power and privilege, Americans have been stirred to anger.

A sacred trust, unspoken but explicit, has been betrayed.
Politicians have long forgotten what is paramount: The affairs and concerns of those from whom they “derive their just powers”. And whether they truly have simply ‘forgotten’, or whether they have willfully chosen to ignore the citizenry…Their actions (or lack thereof) have awakened a collective ‘political leviathan’, lurking amongst the people, fueled by angst and outcry. A nearly tangible frustration, refusing to relent to ridicule, or acquiesce to the supposed “proprieties” of a political label or brand.

In short – We’re pissed. We’ve had it. And those who believe they are “in power” had better start listening to those of us who actually HAVE the power, by design, according to the Founding Fathers.

Let us remember:

“…Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”

From…The…CONSENT…Of…The…Governed.

We are “the governed”.
We The People.

We are the ones who give that “consent”, to those who we entrust with great responsibility.
And when that trust is betrayed, over and over again…Our consent must be withdrawn.
“…It is (our) right, it is (our) duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for (our) future security.”

They’re taking over many areas of private industry.

They want to wrap their unclean hands around the necks of our elderly, “helping them along” with their “end of life decisions”.

They collect and store away our private information, holding it “hostage”…All because we dare to disagree and oppose a policy, a stance, or an agenda.

And it is time…to withdraw…OUR CONSENT!

They give us back our own money, in the form of “Cash for Clunkers” and “stimulus”, making it seem as if it’s a gift from the gods.

They offer to tax us more, and in return “provide” services we neither want nor need from a federal government.

They’ve limited our liberties, and defied our will!

It is time…to withdraw…OUR CONSENT!

“…Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

It is our right…It is our duty…to WITHDRAW OUR CONSENT!
By voice, by vote, by protestation and, if necessary, by legal secession! We are charged by the Founding Fathers to uphold the sacrifices they made with their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. We must not abuse-by-sloth, that which they handed down over these many centuries. We must involve ourselves in the goings-on of our politics, now and forever, be they local, state or federal. We must never again allow those in power…Those using and abusing OUR power…To bring our country to the very edge of prolonged civil unrest. Look around – we are nearly there!

It is time…To withdraw…OUR CONSENT!

Withdrawal of consent is no easy thing, no small thing. I am not convinced there is any mechanism to do so that does not involve violence, and that troubles me deeply. Before we withdraw consent, wouldn’t it be prudent to do more than voice disatisfaction and instead vote new government into place, through consitutional amendment, through new representative blood? Perhaps the constitution needs to be amended to weaken the federal government?

Proposed Amendment: “None of the several states, nor Congress shall have the authority to exempt themselves from any enacted law. Any exemptions made in the past are invalid upon passage of this amendment.”

WashingtonsWake on August 24, 2009 at 1:00 PM

WashingtonsWake on August 24, 2009 at 1:00 PM

Perhaps the constitution needs to be amended to weaken the federal government?

The federal government’s scope of power is already narrow and limited, by design, within the constitution itself. But, we have allowed our government and our elected officials to ‘widen-at-will’ that scope, to something that gets the votes and preserves their seats.

We’ve fallen down on our duties for far too long.
Holding them accountable is OUR job, and if they refuse to be held to account…The founders provided legal means for us to resolve the issues at hand.

Withdrawing our consent is the first step.

Cost Of A Date

From a former Air Force Colonel….

First, let me say that I’ve moved three presidents up to now and I’ve seen incredible waste. But, the “new” guy really takes the cake. I don’t have an issue with the President promising his wife dinner and a show or that he even takes his wife out. But, when I saw the news say that the date cost $24,000, here’s what you DON’T know.

Three days before “dinner” a C-17 flew Marines and the helicopter maintenance equipment to JFK Airport.

The day before “dinner” I flew the USSS and the motorcade to JFK Airport.

Our crew of 5 spent two days and nights at the Hilton in Times Square. My hotel bill: $621.66 plus $64 a day in per diem. The USSS guys were at a different Hilton in NYC, so figure that cost another $14,000 (or so) plus per diem. The Marines had to have cost as much and were there four days, so figure another $55,000 plus per diem (for 44 Marines).

We were supposed to fly the motorcade back and go home, but the Air Force was so short of C-17′s that we were re-tasked to take the motorcade back, return to JFK and take the helicopter back to Quantico. When we got back to JFK, while the pilot was turning the plane around to park, he noticed a rotor blade sticking out of the hangar where the helicopter was parked and informed me that either it wasn’t ready to transport or it was flying home. After shutting down I walked over to the hangar and to my surprise I find FIVE helicopters, not ONE.

We’re obviously not transporting five big helicopters. I went and talked to the Marines guarding the “fleet” and found that they were flying all five helicopters home and we were only transporting the Marines and the maintenance equipment. After talking to the Marine(s) in charge, I was told that the White House requested FIVE helicopters. The Marines told me that they spent all morning trying to figure out how much it cost them to come and said they figured it cost them $140,000 to stay there (I don’t know where they came up with that) and the trip’s total had to be about $1,000,000.

We heard that the President didn’t use Air Force One (the 747) so I asked if he came in on one of the 757′s. I was told that he came in on THREE Air Force Lear jets.

So, date night consisted of: 2 C-17′s flying three missions, 3 Lear jets, 5 Helicopters, Presidential Motorcade, 44 Marines, more than 20 USSS personnel on our plane. Who knows what it cost the NYPD and NY Port Authority (at the airport) in overtime.

These are the same people that chastised the automobile CEO’s for using their aircraft. It further proves that the media only use the facts that make the President look good and hide any facts that will detract from his persona.

Is this the ‘change’ we expected?
Talk with friends and those who are not blinded by charisma. Many folks I know who voted for Obama are very disappointed and sorry they did so.

The Emperor’s clothes on a grand scale. “Transparency”? Remember, 2010 is just around the corner. All we have to do is survive long enough.

2010
AMEN

This thread is used up. The trolls are repeating themselves, as typical liberals are wont to do. I know that AP doesn’t ban trolls, but lets them run wild in his threads because that brings him more hits. I don’t like LGF because of their instant bans of those who disagree, though friendly.

HOWEVER, I only follow HA because of generally stimulating comments and insights. I even enjoy the trolls for a short while, if they limit repetition. When you get really ignorant left wingers, such as simplesimon (appropriately named) or Bill Blizzard (a pretentious fool who only uses limited sources) and you make your point several times, only to be ignored by their adherence to their talking points, the interchange gets boring. They have accomplished their purpose of running off the commenters who have a life and something better to do with their time.

My last comment on this thread: Most veterans do not wear their service on their sleeve, unlike the pseudo vetrans that Rush exposes. The thing with the cowardly liberals and radicals, is that they don’t think you should be allowed to speak or to be taken seriously unless you ARE a veteran or liberal or radical (radiclib). And if you are a veteran, you should not speak because you are a baby killer.
That is why, every once in a while the vet will self identify, not for accolades, but to head off the vomit from any liberals that may be in the conversation.

My friends here at HotAir:

I submit to you that our domestic enemies of the Constitution–the statist liberals and The Won’s ilk–are looking forward to us slinking back into the shadows, back into our lives and back into our silence.

Please, resign yourselves to take a deep breath, and prep for the long fight. Sharpen your knife, repack your rucksack, put on some new socks and regroup. We’ve landed on the beach, knocked them back on their heels, now we need to go for the throat.

It is WWII, and the date is June 8th—plan your strategy, adjust your tactics, develop new weapons and whatever you do–attack, attack attack. Just as Patton said, “hold em by the nose and kick ‘em in the ass.”

There will come a Bastogne, there will come a Battle of the Bulge. We will have to conduct some rescues. We will have to fight through the winter. We will have to conduct resupply and training.

We will sleep in our foxholes, we will mend our uniforms and we will eat out of a can if we have to. The only way back to the US we know and love is by going right through the heart of the statist liberal agenda. We will dismantle it, we will crush it and we will become experts of it in order to identify it for generations to come.

They think we’ll find something new and shiny that will outlast this “newfound” fondness for constitutionality and federalism long, loooong before the 2010 campaign season.

They think they can ridicule Sarah Palin and lean on the media to portray their opposition as simpletons and that dazzling you with their erudition and sophistication would be sufficient to overcome your outrage at having the American Exceptionalism that is your birthright prostituted for more chinese loans.

Prove them wrong.

simplesimon on August 24, 2009 at 7:22 PM

I have heard it said by some African Americans that the thing a racist fears the most is “an educated black man.”

The thing libs fear the most is an educated citizen.
Not one armed with just with a degree, certificate or title from a college or university. They have no fear of your average graduate. Their fear is in an awakened citizenry. Average people waking up to the truth and reality of what and who Democrats really are. Average guys like mechanics, truck drivers, doctors, teachers, cooks, moms and dads, armed with the truth. It is one thing to be made a fool of by a Harvard graduate,,, it is quite another thing when a truck driver with nothing more than a high school education knows more about legislation and our history than a Senator does.

That’s why the Joe the Plumber thing was so great. He was just an average guy standing on his front lawn,, he had no entourage, no name or great title,, but his one question managed to expose a Presidential candidate for who he really was.
Millions in advertising dollars were being spent along with an entire army of high paid media who were working to create an illusion that Obama was the messiah, and here comes this question from a plumber out standing on his lawn and, for a few moments, the illusion melts away and the truth is exposed,, the god was really just a man. And not a very nice one at that.

JellyToast on August 24, 2009 at 8:21 PM

David Hedrick: patriot

do you hear that Nanzi Pelosi, Do you hear that Brian Baird, do you hear that house democrats…. foot steps… over there… no over THERE… behind you… coming for you. …

your political careers are over… sign up for the punditry…. you’ve done your damage… your influence and power is gone… you’re a nothing… a has been. Go away Harry Reid… it’s over. You’re all defeated, and we haven’t even gotten started yet.

ted c on August 24, 2009 at 8:32 PM

And I will add,, that is why these town halls are hated by so many of these Senators and Reps. I believe it is not the crowds they fear, or the passion, or even the confrontation of itself,,, but the threat of being confronted with the truth by ordinary people,, of being exposed for who they really are,,, just plain men and women. Not super smart. Not experts on anything. Not even very clever. Just plain.
In DC,, they are experts. They are powerful. They have prestige and title. And that can carry you well at a power luncheon in an expensive restaurant in Washington,, but not to an educated citizen at a town hall.

I am convinced that 2010 will be rife with fraud. The Americans will have to pull an Orange / Cedar / Or Green revolution after 2010 if the D’s don’t lose any seats.

After what the Democrats did in Washington State Governor’s race, Minnesota Senate race, Florida in 2000 and Wisconsin, etc. They are very well versed in the method of manufacturing votes and stuffing ballot boxes / slashing tires.

The media will manufacture a scandal in the fall of 2010. And like they did with John Edwards… they’ll sit on it right? Nope, they’ll run anything their photoshops can put out and the elusive unnamed source will make a big time appearance in favor of the D’s.

AP, I love this video and suggest by your question that you miss the critical point. I’m not a constitutional expert, but my understanding is that the government does not have the right to confiscate our property (i.e., money, our bodies, et al..); that property rights are supreme. This, and the implication that it places the individual rights above social rights, is what I believe distinguishes America as a great country.

We can differ in good faith about the derivational elements of America’s greatness (e.g., E Pluribus Unum, In God We Trust, etc.) but Liberty must be sacrosanct.

oops, I forgot the tie-in to this video: This Marine is talking about reserving the right to use his property (money) towards his choice of insurance. He is talking about an Insurance company’s right to provide insurance for a profit. He’s talking about the government not having the right to take its citizen’s money in order to provide insurance..

David hedrick just gave a great interview on Mark Levin’s show.

The question is why don’t we have RNC people out spotting talent at these events.

That totally rocked. What we need is more Marines.
