Hey Janeane! There’s a Dem House, Senate AND President. Life really can not get any better for you politically.
If your “soul” is still “sick” well you better get the Jack and sleeping pills out.

I have said it before and I will say it again, I hope the statists gravitate to progressive title so we can reclaim the liberal title. Conservatism is the true home of liberalism (as it was known in the 18th century).

Ayn Rand refers to the liberal mindset as “subjectivism.” Looking at this solely from the point of view of the ego, it couldn’t possibly matter less whether or not the world is going to Hell in a handbasket — Or even that your actions are the sole cause of that.

All that matters to the liberal is whatever makes him FEEL BAD. So when someone criticizes him, that person is the only source of all evil in the world.

Loxodonta on August 23, 2009 at 3:04 AM

So, I’m assuming that at some point in the past this Garofolo bitch diD something to become relevant in the entertainment world. So, what was it, and why is it still relevant?

Fed45 on August 23, 2009 at 3:05 AM

Janeane Garofalo bombed a couple weeks ago at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. From Reuters:

Critic Jay Richardson blasted Garofalo for a “train wreck” of a show during which she consulted notes, rambled on, opined about Scottish stereotypes like eating deep fried Mars bars and a fondness for drink and spouted some ill-considered opinions about British politicians.

“Interrogating cricket-apathetic Scots about The Ashes (a series between England and Australia played in England and Wales this year) might have been the nadir, were it not for her laboured Conservative baiting,” Richardson wrote.

However, the paper praised Garofalo for flashes of brilliance when she stuck to a script that she knew better, offering the audience a brief glimpse of the kind of show they had come to see crammed into a breakneck final 15 minutes venting spleen on Laura Bush, talking about her loss of religion, libido, cosmetic surgery and depression.

That last one summed it up. Can’t get laid, hates herself and panders to stereotypes of rural whites. Every Janeane Garofalo story could save us a lot of time by just saying, “She is still a miserable human being with poor hygiene.”

chunderroad on August 23, 2009 at 3:21 AM

Hard to believe she was once normal looking

Gatordoug on August 23, 2009 at 1:08 AM

No way. I’m with Treacher on this one. They almost managed to Photoshop her Chinese or something. They photoshopped her to Hello Kitty heaven and back again. Garofalo looks like she’s trying so hard to push out a stubborn doody bubble that she’s gone cockeyed. Betch has got fart eyes. Since we’re talking like third graders and calling people “retarded.”

chunderroad on August 23, 2009 at 3:28 AM

She once said something like this, and I paraphrase because it was a many years ago, but it was the only thing she ever said that made me laugh:

“Once I became sober, I started watching a lot of news…”

Hannity used to play the clip before she became a nobody.

It’s amazing how those who protested Bush where patriots but those who protest “The One” are “racists.”

shorebird on August 23, 2009 at 3:31 AM

Seriously, Jeanine has been making comments like this for some time. She’s wrong, yet no one seems to confront her or debate her.
Upstater85 on August 23, 2009 at 2:00 AM

So, let’s debate her point by point. Quote 1:

“Do you remember tea baggers?” Garofalo said.

“Tea bagging” is a crude sexual slang term aimed at insulting all Tea Party participants, few if any of which would be familiar with that term, infuriating them and disgusting them. It’s a twofer insult, in that it forced me to look it up at Wikipedia to find out what it means, and I stopped reading after the first sentence. That Garafalo chooses to use such a term demonstrates she is not interested in debating ideas, but merely expressing contempt in a manner that causes the most discomfort to any opposed to her.

Loxodonta on August 23, 2009 at 3:34 AM

Debating Garofalo, Quote 2:

“It was just so much easier when we could just call them racists.”

OK. I agree that there are racist conservatives, but not all conservatives are racist. It seems like a small minority to me. And not all racists are white or conservative or Republicans, etc., but some are liberals, Democrats and non-white. So, this is another “debating tactic” that does not forward her position, but simply denigrates those she opposes.

Loxodonta on August 23, 2009 at 3:39 AM

Debating Garofalo, Quote 3:

“I just don’t know why we can’t call them racists, or functionally retarded adults.”

Garofalo can call us whatever she wants. It just demonstrates her own inability to advance whatever her position is with facts and analysis. Her choice of the term “functionally retarded adults,” is an insult to those of us who are retarded adults, have other developmental disorders, or who care about or for people with developmental disorders. And the “retard” line of attack from the left on the right seems to have two elements:

First it is their intellectual elitism, something not confined to liberals, but which they seem to demonstrate with far greater contempt for those who do not have higher education degrees. Yet, there are different kinds of intelligence. And a skilled and honest automotive mechanic, even without a high school equivalency diploma, is an absolute treasure to find.

Second, is a likely dig at Trig Palin and all those who choose life instead of choosing to abort such “retards.” Again, this demonstrates far more about Garofalo’s condescension toward and contempt for others than her ability to forward any debate. The thing that really gets me about this is that Garofalo is willing to use some of the most vulnerable amongst us as canon fodder against her political opponents. What kind of person uses such an approach to “debate?”

Loxodonta on August 23, 2009 at 3:41 AM

“The functionally retarded adults, the racists – with their cries of, ‘I want my country back,’” she said. “You know what they’re really saying is, ‘I want my white guy back.’ They apparently had no problem at all for the last eight years of habeas corpus being suspended, the Constitution being [expletive] on, illegal surveillance, lied to on a war or two, two stolen elections – yes, the John Kerry one was stolen too. That’s not tin-foil hat time. That’s just…”

No longer addressing her insults, what is she talking about? She talks like everyone who matters knows and needs no further explanation. But I seem to have missed habeas corpus being suspended, as well as President Obama’s reinstatement of it. What suspensions? What lies? And how many of President Bush 62,040,610 votes were “stolen,” compared to Senator Kerry’s 59,028,444? And how many of the 286 electoral votes for Bush were stolen? These are great mysteries to me. if anyone has any supporting evidence that’s actually verifiable, I’d be happy to read it.

Loxodonta on August 23, 2009 at 3:53 AM

Debating Garofalo, Quote 5:

“Our media is quite happy to report on any stolen election around the world, any stolen election around the world except ours,” Garofalo said. “And it’s just unexamined narcissism. It’s just, if you were to say this to the average American, ‘You know they steal elections in Uganda.’ ‘Yeah.’ ‘You know they steal elections in America.’ ‘Why do you hate America?’ ‘Why didn’t you ask me why do you hate Uganda?’”

OK. Why do you hate Uganda, Jeanane?

Garofalo’s notion that the MSM has a vast conspiracy, covering up Republicans stealing both the 200 and 2004 presidential elections due to fear that Americans will accuse them of hating our country, again provides no facts to back up her stealing accusations. She also demonstrates little awareness of the MSM’s willingness to insult the intelligence and patriotism of average Americans, regardless of the impact on their income, especially MSNBC. Garofalo accuses her opponents of trying to get the MSM to shut up by threats against their patriotism. But she provides no evidence and demonstrates no willingness to debate. Instead, she hypocritically tries to silence her opponents by insulting them as “tea baggers, racists” and “functionally retarded adults.”

It helps them out. We have now all heard the name of, and are discussing, this D-list nobody! These political publicity stunts will help her land a movie role, we’re helping the process along. Suggestion: ignore them, and maybe then one day they’ll realize what a ruckus they can make attacking the other side of the aisle…

Lex on August 23, 2009 at 4:12 AM

Debating Garofalo, Last Quote:

And finally, Jeanane demonstrates her inability to debate due to the compulsive rage discharging from her limbic brain activity:

“This is neuroscience,” Garofalo continued. “This is not politics, this is neuroscience. It is purely limbic brain activity – this emotion over being angry that there’s a black guy in office, with the people showing up armed to the health care meetings – to whatever, the town halls. But it’s just, and these tea baggers. It makes me soul sick.”

Garofalo does not make my soul sick. However, I am concerned for this sick, humorless and angry soul.

Sorry Upstater, I wish I could do a better job of debating Garofalo, but that’s the best I can do, because I’m not clicking her unedited video.

These are the people we must learn to effectively debate in the real world and defeat in elections. Even the trolls here at Hot Air serve the function of displaying the talking points and the tactics being used against us. Consider it part of our training and preparation, as uncomfortable as that is at times. If all we can do is avoid them or yell at them, we are less likely to win in 2010 and 2012.

Loxodonta on August 23, 2009 at 4:20 AM

“They apparently had no problem at all for the last eight years of habeas corpus being suspended, the Constitution being [expletive] on, illegal surveillance, lied to on a war or two, two stolen elections – yes, the John Kerry one was stolen too. That’s not tin-foil hat time. That’s just…”

Sorry, the 2004 election being “stolen” is indeed tin-foil hat territory. Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

Habeus corpus was not suspended for 8 years. Perhaps Garofalo made an inartful comment, but regardless, she does not seem to understand the Military Commissions Act of 2006, which Kerry, Obama and Clinton each voted for, as well as the Patriot Act, as well as FISA and Obama went further in supporting telecom immunity.

As far as lefties go, Janeane Garofolo is about as dumb as a box of hair. Her points are so inane, you’d be spending your time better arguing with Maxine Waters about whether crack cocaine was introduced into LA’s ghettos by the CIA. I wonder if kicking the rock was part of her “sobriety.” That stuff fries your brain, you know.

I’d love to share your optimism that this is going to end peacefully and with (fair) elections.

It isn’t time for training and preparation any more. You are now on the battlefield for your country. Pick your battles wisely, I suggest. This one is a waste of your oxygen and time. It is helping her career and encouraging other hacks to try the same kind of political publicity stunts. (Roseanne, anyone?)

Lex on August 23, 2009 at 4:34 AM

chunderroad on August 23, 2009 at 3:28 AM

Nothing against Asians, either. I think Michelle Malkin is gorgeous and whip smart. But Garofalo’s photoshopped album is hilarious, and the closest she could come to Asian beauty is “fart face.” Anyway, funny that cosmetic surgery jokes are a part of the has-been’s shtick, yet she has no problem using a mouse to alter her face beyond recognition on her crap album.

NoFanofLibs on August 23, 2009 at 8:48 AM

To impugn Tea Party protestor motivations as evil is itself evil.

Tea Party groups do happen to consist mostly of white people. This is true not because of racism, but because the country was founded by white people, and their descendents better understand that the federal government was limited by intent.

Freedom from government oppression, that is how the US started, that is its draw. This has nothing to do with color or other group distinction. Most white people wanted this freedom for black slaves, eventually got around to dying over it.

Garofalo seems full of hate. It’s not easy for a powerless person to become so widely despised. Hate attracts hate.

This Garofolo broad gets more publicity in HotAir than she does in all the other media combined. Sort of like The View.
I have no interest in some brainless twit spouting obscenities, and find it interesting that she has to go to Australia to find an audience. I thought the Ozzies were smarter than that. Apparently not.

Should could always try a Diprivan-drip for her sick soul…

I agree. I could care less what she says or anyone on the View says. They are a bunch of screaming profane little girls demanding attention. I just want to tell them to shut up, find my remote and bring me my root beer!

JellyToast on August 23, 2009 at 9:13 AM

I see she wears the same glasses as the nephew on the Red Green Show.

You can’t have a “teabagger” without “Rooster” Sucker, so if we Conservatives are “teabaggers” wouldn’t that make the liberals. . . well, you know.

Keep harping on “The Poor Black Boy” line; Somebody will sympathize. And SYMPATHY is a good way to run our government!

However, the paper praised Garofalo for flashes of brilliance when she stuck to a script that she knew better, offering the audience a brief glimpse of the kind of show they had come to see crammed into a breakneck final 15 minutes venting spleen on Laura Bush, talking about her loss of religion, libido, cosmetic surgery and depression.
chunderroad on August 23, 2009 at 3:21 AM

How is that “brilliant”? Garofalo forgot to conclude the self-righteous tirade by saying that Laura Bush had never been anything but a lousy bit player in some really crappy movies.

Why be a professional hypocrite, and leave the job incomplete? That’s just sloppy work.

Has anyone noticed she looks like the star of Ugly Betty?

Dr Evil on August 23, 2009 at 10:23 AM

You want to see something really scary?Imagine waking up in the morning finding out that you were married to this piece of trash looking across the bed and see her laying there.

I don’t know what this is about, but I will say that when somebody making obscene amounts of money for basically doing nothing spouts off about anything concerning America, I usually don’t listen.

Janeane, you’re living in fantasy land. Go bitch at Mr. Roarke and Tattoo.

Metro on August 23, 2009 at 11:01 AM

(Gatordoug) Your not wrong sometimes much deeper .

thmcbb on August 23, 2009 at 11:31 AM

“Do you remember tea baggers?” Garofalo said. “It was just so much easier when we could just call them racists. I just don’t know why we can’t call them racists, or functionally retarded adults.” – Janeane Garafalo

That looks like a perfect description of leftists, socialists and Hollywood radical Democrats!

Jane “the Inane” Garafalo, not smart enough to be a tool, she just plays one on TV.

ROTFLMAO… Oh they are, they aren’t listening to that rabid rodent to learn anything, they invited her because they know a damned good human train wreck in motion when they see it.

Wish repubs. had some hackers that could find out how much taxes Ms. G pays.
Also, Roseanne Barr…..Wanda Sykes, Sidney Portier, they blather on, but I just know they skim by with no taxes paid.

nondhimmie on August 23, 2009 at 12:55 PM

with the people showing up armed to the health care meetings -

Er….Ah…Uhm…Jeanane if you watch something besides MSNBC you’d know that some BLACK guy showed up with a rifle and a Town Hall meeting. Now what do we do Sweetie?

Herb on August 23, 2009 at 1:06 PM

If there were no real “functionally retarded adults” where would folks like her, who fancy themselves cutting edge social commenters, come from? Is there anyone out there who actually thinks that she is funny? Why did you have to include a photo of this “thing”? And why is she so opposed to personal hygiene?

sgtstogie on August 23, 2009 at 1:13 PM

It’s best to just leave Garofalo alone to wallow in her miserable life…her actions are textbook when it comes to adolescents crying out for attention; Which means when an adult does it it’s beyond-the-pale pathetic.

She’s a fourth rate “comedian” and actress whose peak was over a decade and a half ago. She’s not all that attractive and not all that intelligent.

She went to the same school most “celebs” and all libs go to: The Liberal View of America High.

They are taught from birth that everything that happened in the United States prior to 1969 was wrong and evil and only when the hippies got together for a communal flea dip did mankind “awaken”

They believe, fervently, that America is the most evil country ever to exist on the planet. Don’t try to debate them on this…a couple of kids shot dead at Kent State is worth a thousand tears to them… But MILLIONS murdered by communist and socialist regimes across the world derive nary a tear from them.

They are taught that if only America could be erased from the world, we would all live in peace and harmony with all peoples and all cultures.

They treat Che Guevara more reverently than Pope John Paul II. They believe Castro is a “cool guy”. They believe that any man or woman who devotes their life to the military is a brainless fool…while a flower child taking bong hits for the Peace Corps is a “radical dude”

They believe all Americans living further than 20 miles inland from either coast is an in-bred, toothless racist who spend their days crafting nooses and burning crosses.

They believe, despite every shred of evidence to the contrary, that Bush was behind 9/11. In one breath they call him an imbecile who can’t tie his own shoes…in the next he’s the mastermind behind the greatest conspiracy in human history.

They believe Al Gore is the most Pious man of our time.

They believe Republicans stole the Presidential elections when the only REAL evidence of voter fraud in a Presidential election comes down on the side of Barry O’Bama.

And despite Obama being mostly white and Arab…they call him a “Black Man”. Proving once again when it comes to libs, everything is only skin deep.

Garofalo spent years getting high and crying out about “the evil government” with her friends…And now that the “evil government” is run by her liberal heroes, she doesn’t know how to react.

Except to bring out the race card, of course.

She’s little more than a fly-ridden turd on the sidewalk…but we should sympathize with such a pathetic creature.

If she wasn’t spouting such vile hatred she would have to depend on something else to get attention.

Like tattoos covering up her ugly flesh. Like not showering in weeks. Like pretending to be intelligent by using words she learned from tv.

Like relying on her “talent” to make a living.

She’ll be found dead from an OD someday…but only after neighbors complain about the stench for a week because she has no children to speak of, no lovers to speak of…nobody who would care to spend time with such a hateful little creature.
