Video: Krauthammer a Monty Python fan?

posted at 7:12 pm on August 19, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

If so, my admiration for Charles Krauthammer has hit maximum proportions. I’m not sure I agree with his assessment that the public option is dead — I think it might just be pining for the fjords — but check out this Dennis Miller-style pop reference at the end, via Greg Hengler at Townhall:

Awesome. Unfortunately, I’m not convinced that the public option is an ex-parrot just quite yet. I’d certainly like to think it’s bleeding deceased, but I suspect it may just be mostly dead. We’ll need a miracle to keep Democrats from shoving that chocolate-coated potion down our throats. In other words, have fun storming the castle for the foreseeable future.

I think the more appropriate Python line for Obama would be “It’s just a flesh wound”…

BigWyo on August 19, 2009 at 7:18 PM

LOL. How about “We are the Knights who say NEE!” That’s about as much sense as this whole thing makes and no one on the blue side can see how ridiculous this is. “Your mother is a hamster and your father smells of alder berry wine”

flytier on August 19, 2009 at 9:58 PM

British TV…the only reason I ever gave any money to PBS back in the day…from Are You Being Served to Faulty Towers, Monty Python, of course, and, yes, Benny Hill.

Wish we could drop all those “reality” shows and get some well-written comedy again, God knows, we need it.

coldwarrior on August 19, 2009 at 8:02 PM

Benny Hill was great!

Mr. Obama, I fart in your general direction.

lol The end quotes would be very appropriate…

Obama: I’m invincible!!

American People: You’re a loony!!

That’s some lovely snarking by Krauthammer!

It’s a guy thing. You just wouldn’t understand.

Its hardwired into the genetics of us Alpha-males. Some beta-males pick up the recessive Python gene.

Wolftech on August 19, 2009 at 9:23 PM

Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you… you and all your silly Alpha Male Knnnnnnigits!

Some of us ladies are quite fond of all things Python.

I am with you Sister Kirin….I am female and I know all the lines to Holy Grail and get every other Python reference cited herein.

Since it’s health care insurance reform that’s got us charged up, we mustn’t forget the feet!

ya2daup on August 19, 2009 at 10:55 PM

The tale of Brave Sir Robin probably best describes Obama on healthcare.

Mini-14 on August 19, 2009 at 11:17 PM

Maybe someone should use the “holy hand grenade of Antiok” to stop Obamacare.

libertarianator on August 19, 2009 at 11:38 PM

Listen, strange women lyin’ in ponds distributin’ swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony

Should have told that to all the idiots who voted for a man whose main claim to experience is being a failed community organizer.

Baxter Greene on August 19, 2009 at 11:51 PM

Some smart able person could make a killing with all the Python references daily from this administration.

Now back to the Department of Redundancy Department for you! They’re redundantly redundant, you know.

Oooh, The Princess Bride and Cary Elwes… :swoons:… What were we taking about again??

Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say ‘Un-American Mob’ at will to old ladies

There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design ‘Healthcare’ are under considerable economic stress in this period in history.

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition.

I just have to add: Fawlty Towers is one of my very favorite series. My mom got me hooked and I got both my nephews hooked. Now they ask me to put my Fawlty Towers tapes on when they come over.

Wow, and I thought I couldn’t like Krauthammer any more than I already did.

What kind of dressing would you like on your war?

Remember the rabbit that bit off the head’s of the knights?

(“One rabbit stew….coming up…..”

yeep

“JESUS CHRIST!”)

Kinda reminds me of what’s going on at the town hall meetings.

Be in Washington DC on 9/12 to pound more steaks into not only health care, but the whole administrations plans!

Obama administration = Twit Olympics.

patriotparty1 on August 20, 2009 at 9:55 AM

I’d much prefer to pound a few stakes into Obamacare. :-)

As for steaks…I’d recommend Morton’s over in Georgetown, or the Palm, up by Dupont Circle. Serious good places to eat.

coldwarrior on August 20, 2009 at 10:12 AM

Neocons reaction to Sarah Palin with conservatives trying to change their mind:

Neocons: “But I don’t like her.”

Cons: “Don’t like her?! What’s wrong with her?! She’s…she’s beautiful…she’s rich…she’s got huge……..tracts of land.”

ICBMMan on August 20, 2009 at 10:31 AM

Let’s see Monty Python War, the Inquisition, the Holy Grail what do they all have in common? They are downright funny and relevant to the shenanigans this administration is passing off as efficient.

MSGTAS on August 20, 2009 at 10:33 AM

Have mine eyes deceived me? Monty Python and Princess Bride references in the same post? This is awesome.

DakRoland on August 20, 2009 at 12:01 PM

Another fun fact – the Greek prefix in palindromepalin – means again. Monty Python forever!

Thank you! LMAO!! I think the best depiction of “Obamacare” from Monty Python is the “Birth” sketch (“…I see you’re using the machine that goes ‘Bing!’”) That’s Obamacare in an ACORN shell!
