Democrat: Grassley’s fear of euthanasia in ObamaCare is an “act of treason”

posted at 12:52 pm on August 19, 2009 by Allahpundit

Another golden nugget mined by the Wash Times from Eric Massa’s panderfest at Nutroots Nation. The money bit comes at around 38 seconds in. Despite all the other leftist demagoguery of the past three weeks — “brown shirts” and “political terrorists” and “un-Americans” and “evil-mongers” — this is the first time someone’s seriously suggested a criminal element to the sort of rhetorical grenade-tossing Grassley engaged in. It’s no absent-minded choice of words, either: Note the repeated references to “enemies” that precedes it, a fine insight into how his bloggy constituents tend to view the right.

Past a certain point all this screeching from congressional Democrats starts to sound like noise, but keep tipping us to it when you see it. It’ll be nice to have easy access to this stuff in the archives for the next time the Times runs a “climate of hate” hit piece on the GOP or whatever.

When has a Lefty ever gave a whit about loyalty to the United States?

It’s not the US that they are demanding loyalty to.

Being accused of treason by the left should now be considered a badge of honor.

I don’t devote too much support to “mystics” and such, as the Bible says we should not ascribe to divinations or follow “clairvoyants’, but, well, Nostradamus said that the antichrist (or false prophet) was named “Mabus” and he’d Revelations says that it will “rise from the sea”.

Nostradamus made that prediction centuries ago, cold not possibly have known individuals living today, or even after his own lifetime for the most part.

Obama’s named a guy whose last name is “Mabus” to head the Navy.

Creepy.

P.S.: I’m not expert in Revelations so am not up to speed on the events procession forecast there (False Prophet appears first, AntiChrist later, not sure when Armageddon occurs in the sequence of those events). So someone else here could opine about that if willing.

It’s a total misrepresentation of the views he expressed at the Netroots conference and documented in two (2) Washington Times videos. Unfortunately, Megyn Kelly didn’t ask him about the Grassley treason comment. I think she was confused by Massa’s statements.

Fighton03 on August 19, 2009 at 1:58 PM

Treason is a very narrow charge. It has to be affirmative, with a specific intent. It cannot be circumstantial. Benedict Arnold committed treason by offering (attempting) strategic information that would help in defeating the rebels.

Even Nancy “Blinky” Pelosi has not committed treason by calling the CIA a bunch of liars. It is, in any measure, an incredibly stupid thing to do.

Note to Blinky:

Don’t piss off the guys who get paid to destroy high ranking public officials.

With idiots like this as their congressman, it’s no wonder NY is in the tank. Any hard working person is going to leave the state and move to a low tax state.

Maybe if they did, some freeloaders from TX would move there.

With all the tags the liberal left is hanging on us they seem to completely forget that those people they are tagging also have God, all the real resolve, and all the guns.

Has it come to the point where our ideological differences are being reduced to “we have more guns?” Too many people are excited about the notion of a Civil War. Are conservatives aware of what came after? Putting the government and country back together again precipitated the first major creation of federal welfare policies via the Freeman’s Bureau and the pension funds for veterans and their families. Now I happen to think both of those moves were good things, but are the modern day secessionists being for real or do they think they will actually win?

This is truly approaching if not already having built the Church of Obama.

Jesus Christ. Who *are* you and what planet are you on. The Church of Obama? This is such a pedestrian moment in U.S. history. A Democratic nominee ran for President using progressive rhetoric just like Clinton/Dukakis/Carter/McGovern. He won, just like Clinton/Carter. He’s walked back from nearly every progressive promise he made by:
1. Continuing the TARP plan.
2. Proposing no new financial regulations.
3. Not using executive privelige to prevent firings due to Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.
4. Walking back entirely anti-NAFTA and pro-Employee Free Choice Act rhetoric.
5. Expanding the war in Afghanistan, adhering to Bush’s plans for Iraq withdrawal.
6. Making policy favorable to the logging industry/ignoring environmental protection.
7. Cutting deals with Big Phrma after saying he wouldn’t.
8. Passing a healthcare bill without a public option.

But, no he’s the anti-christ because his name means lightning in Hebrew and he appointed a guy named Mabus? Come the frack on.

Last night when I heard Massa’s comment that he would vote for a public option even if his constituency did not want it (because it was what’s best for them, of course), a few phrases kept coming to mind:

Why thank you Massa, sir. You a good Massa, sir. We is so lucky to be working for you, Massa sir.

His name fits his statist agenda, don’t ya think? He truly thinks he is the master and we, the people, are the slave.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned he might be a vampire. Besides he goes out in the day. Unless you are implying that as a vampire he wares some sort of dark colored sun screen to protect himself. See Zeke think. Community good must influence medical treatment. Some groups “whose notions of the good are rooted in the denigration of others” should be excluded from some medical resources.
