White right-wing nut who created Obama Joker image neither white nor right-wing

posted at 4:26 pm on August 18, 2009 by Allahpundit

He’s showing promise on the nutty part, though.

Bored during his winter school break, Firas Alkhateeb, a senior history major at the University of Illinois, crafted the picture of Obama with the recognizable clown makeup using Adobe’s Photoshop software…

“After Obama was elected, you had all of these people who basically saw him as the second coming of Christ,” Alkhateeb said. “From my perspective, there wasn’t much substance to him.”

“I abstained from voting in November,” he wrote in an e-mail. “Living in Illinois, my vote means close to nothing as there was no chance Obama would not win the state.” If he had to choose a politician to support, Alkhateeb said, it would be Ohio Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich

Regardless, Alkhateeb does agree with the Obama “Hope” artist about “socialism” being the wrong caption for the Joker image. “It really doesn’t make any sense to me at all,” he said. “To accuse him of being a socialist is really … immature. First of all, who said being a socialist is evil?”

Much closer to evil: Rahm Emanuel, who “shows a clear anti-Muslim racism.” Two questions here. First, if this guy’s problem with Obama is that he’s an empty suit, what’s up with the Joker imagery? Is that really the big takeaway about the Joker’s character from “The Dark Knight” — that’s he’s overhyped? Second, since depicting our savior as a white-faced killer is and can only be racist (“the only thing missing is a noose“), does that mean Alkhateeb now wears the scarlet R? It’s no defense to say that he didn’t mean anything racist by it; the left long ago dropped any requirement of conscious intent before using their favorite smear. And yet, per his racial and political identity, we know that he simply can’t be racist, any more than The One can for showing the sort of neglect that would have earned Bush a 15-minute Olbermann rant on white supremacy. Any theories on how to square this devilish circle? Perhaps the nefarious right-wing “climate of hate” seeped into the poor lad’s mind and had him do its bidding subconsciously.

To the Palis, Obama’s “muslim roots” make him an apostate.

However, I don’t think he’s either muslim nor Christian, I think he worships himself.

This is a statist from IL. Here is a tidbit about IL voters from a Rasmussen poll:

Twenty-nine percent (29%) of voters say they are less likely to vote for any Democratic candidate because of the Blagojevich scandal and the state budget crisis. Seven percent (7%) say they are more likely to vote Democratic, while 60% say the scandal and the state’s budget problems will have no impact on their vote.

It’s no defense to say that he didn’t mean anything racist by it; the left long ago dropped any requirement of conscious intent before using their favorite smear.

As was championed by our wise Latina (who had to get to Princeton before she found out that Spanish has adjectives, and has never learned the actual definition of the word “wise”) in her Ricci ruling, resting on “disparate impact” which finds racism without intent, for weak legal minds who see racism in everything.

Did I say how great it was for the GOP to let this abomination out of committee – especially when the American public would have been very happy to see her bottled up, given their reaction to federal government insanity and power-grabbing with this marxist-oriented, America-killing attempt at health care.

This guy created the image but was NOT the person or person’s who made a poster out of it, attached the socialism tag, or plastered it around Los Angeles. A lot of young kids play with Photoshop and are able to create certain images from their whim in very short order. It’s a perfect example of how something that is fairly innocuous can go viral and then the people who are oversensitive to malice and insult will essentially project their own biases and fears onto it. A little like the Gates incident: unjustified accusations become self-fulfilling.

pleaseandthankyou on August 18, 2009 at 4:36 PM

The left throws beanballs every day, then squeals like stuck pigs when they get winged by a whiffle ball.

Hypersensitive, whining little left wing swine have no standing when it comes to complaining about low blows.

He was goaded into making it by his racist white classmates, and he did it in a desperate attempt to be accepted into their white world of white privilege and white whitey whititude. The racism of it all turns the stomach.

Joker image = not racist

but…

It’s pretty obvious.

Alkhateeb said. “From my perspective, there wasn’t much substance to him.”

“…but Kucinich was focused on resolving the Roswell issue. I was also curious how he landed his wife. Was she hypnotized or something.”

WashJeff on August 18, 2009 at 4:42 PM

“I think he’s definitely doing better than Bush was,” Alkhateeb said of Obama. Alkhateeb’s views on foreign relations align with the Democrats, he said, while he prefers Republican ideals on domestic issues.

Alkhateeb’s assessment of Obama: “In terms of domestic policy, I don’t think he’s really doing much good for the country right now,” he said. “We don’t have to ‘hero worship’ the guy.”

Someday, Alkhateeb hopes to be a history teacher and high school football coach.

He doesn’t sound crazy to me.

Black > Gay > Palestinian > White

a few questions

1. where do other racial/ethnic groups fall into play (i know, i know, they have to be DEMOCRATIC VOTERS, so Cubans get no love for instance)
2. what about various religions???? here’s my take:

Atheism >
Agnosticism/Secular Humanism >
Buddhism >
Muslims except those in Iraq & AFghanistan >
Muslims in Iraq & Afghanistan >
“Tribal” religions >
Hindu/Chinese religions/Shinto/Bahai’/Sikhs/Jainists/etc >
Jews that hate Israel >
Black-majority churches >
White ‘mainline’ churches that ordain gays >
Jews that like Israel >
Hispanic Catholics >
White ‘mainline churches that don’t ordain gays >
White Catholics >
Northern White Evangelicals >
Southern White Evangelical Women >
Southern White Evangelical Men

Is that about right?????

b) they are union members and their jobs and livelihoods depend on activist support for the re-election of the Democrat/Mob/Racists who control Illinois politics,
c) they work for one of the city, county, state, or federal agencies and their jobs and livelihoods depend on … see above, or
d) they are wards of the state, socialists, or communists, and … see above.

“White right-wing nut who created Obama Joker image neither white nor right-wing”

Say what? This non-white, left leaning guy has to be part of a vast right-wing conspiracy. Are we sure that he doesn’t shop at Brooks Brothers? Is he in contact with any mongers of evil?

Oh how downcast the leftosphere must be at this piece of news. Made my day.

“…Any theories on how to square this devilish circle?”

Go with some type of “post-modernism” analysis (I.E., it doesn’t matter what the artist thought, it’s being USED by Republicans, so ipso facto it must be racists.)

To bad the LA Times didn’t spend the same energy checking out Obama as they did trying to find out who this guy is……….
