Video: Fox & Friends cover Milk Carton Politicians

posted at 11:36 am on August 17, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

The gang at Fox & Friends gave a nice spotlight on my Milk Carton Politicians post
this morning, and had some fun with the tongue-in-cheek idea themselves. They even have a better milk-carton graphic for people to use, and notice the politicians who wind up on the side: New Hampshire Representatives Paul Hodes and Carol Shea-Porter, and Senators Barbara Boxer and Chuck Schumer. Maybe Steve Doocy can keep this going as a regular feature the rest of this month!

Blowback

Now, why exactly do we want to find these missing pols?

Wouldn’t we all be better off if they just sort of remained disappeared, permanently?

I say abandon this milk carton campaign.

I’d say this might shame some politicians into doing the right thing…but they are democrats, so by definition they have no shame.

Lovin’ it!!! Nothing gets a politician’s goat like ridicule that is humorous but spot on. Doocy should feature one a day. Good work, F&F!!!

Bob in VA on August 17, 2009 at 11:43 AM

Nothing like a good prank to get the publics attention. Keep it up, Ed. A liberal just hates to hear laughter after after their name is announced.

“This. Is. HUGE!.”

The Calibur on August 17, 2009 at 11:43 AM

Somebody needs to tell them that missing kids on milk cartons was discontinued years ago because it scared children. Hence, it’s quite politically correct to showcase missing congress critters in this creative manner.

SHARPTOOTH on August 17, 2009 at 11:46 AM

If Obama flames out, who will occupy power vacuum? All avenues ahead are still dangerous.

JiangxiDad on August 17, 2009 at 11:46 AM

I understand the “sensitivity” of this due to the fact that this first started with missing children. That has now been replaced with the Amber Alert. Besides, when was the last time you actually saw an actual carton of milk? Cardboard cartons are gone and have been replaced with the plastic containers. So keep up the milk carton campaign. It is having the desired effect.

His silence can only be interpreted two ways:

The President has lost confidence in the Vice-President.
The Vice President has lost confidence in the President.

It’s all a very sorry state-of-affairs for this rudderless ship-of-state.

My Rep. is only planning a phone-in town hall. He has said he will not vote for HR 3200, but sometimes he goes all wobbly when someone mentions “bipartisian-ship”. He loves that word. We are having a Health care protest at his office anyway on Sat. Aug. 22. He needs to be reminded that we don’t want anything that is connected to that bill.
If he would have a real town hall meeting here, I think he would be revitalized about his decision. He might even get some donations to his next campaign.
Come on, Frank. Just do it. We love, ya, man.
