The RNC really needs to take a hint from RightOnline. 5-7 minute talks about what we are, who we are, what we believe, in small groups, in large auditoriums, all over the Nation between now and election day 2012 would stand all of us good.

Excellent idea–this is the type of “organizing” Obama’s groups did, and it worked great for him. We need to develope our “grassroots” commonalities. This is what the Tea Party movement is trying to achieve–and what the elites in the RNC are ignoring. They are letting the blog owners do all the “leg work”.

We will literally have to “step away from our computers” and get involved in politics in a physical, time-consuming way. There was no more liberating feeling than what I felt, when I locked my door and turned to get in my car– with the sign I had made for my local Tea Pary!

To think our ancesters managed to create a revolution without Twitter, cellphones or the computer They only had the symbolism of a single man on horseback crying “the Brittish are coming!” This became multipied as more “horsemen” took to the roads

HOTAIR is composed of multiple “Paul Revere’s”–and I think this site embodies the principles of our Founding Father’s–BF (Benjamin Franklin) would be so proud…do you think he would Twitter?

The whole thrust of Atlas Shrugged takes its cue from the individual’s right to his own ideas, his own creativity, his own creations, his own products, and so on.

Back in the day, when I taught American literature in high school, I loved watching students come alive with the ideas of Emerson’s “Self Reliance”. The principles of our founding documents resonate with similar appeals to our love of individuality and liberty.

Come back to our fair city often.

John McCain gave a lot of nice speeches, but then he voted against ANWR; he screwed us on the gang of 14; he backed an early version of Cr*p and Trade with Joe Lieberman, and he was the ringleader of the original Shamnesty. And Ed, I do believe you were a BIG supporter of Backdoor John. Speeches are nice, but actions are louder than words. I’m sure someone will keep the RINO throne warm until you’re ready for it again.

Can you even begin to imagine what this country would transform into if we could get people like Ed into all the positions of power?

It would be pretty much the same. Every politician I’ve seen makes tons of pretty speeches and then goes off and does whatever the hell they want once the election is over. Give the bootlicking a rest, why don’t you?

RUN, ED, RUN! No, not because he gave an eloquent speech, but because he gave a speech where he laid out the basics of American rights, and showed a clear and comprehensive understanding of the founding principles of this nation.

One’s individual rights are basically one’s prerogatives to do stuff (or not) and, especially, to not have stuff done to one; they are not carte blanche for one to get stuff (not even life’s necessities, such as cupcakes) not otherwise duly earned.
