Right Online: Live coverage at C-SPAN

posted at 9:50 am on August 15, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Output will be a little light this morning, but I have a great excuse: I’m currently backstage at the Right Online conference, sponsored by Americans for Prosperity Foundation.  Today’s keynote speeches are already being broadcast live by C-SPAN through their webstreaming (and perhaps on television).  Be sure to watch the Right’s best and brightest address the throngs of activists at the ROL conference.  I’ll speak at 11 am ET, and Michelle Malkin will follow shortly afterward.

After lunch, I’ll have an interview with the producers of Not Evil, Just Wrong, a terrific film screened at the conference last night.  Keep checking back for more!

Thank you so much! The wife and kiddies and I are having a great day all huddled up in the AC, but now I can go back and watch this uninterrupted later and really enjoy it.

Ed,

Your overall focus on the constitutional rights question was quite good — that is a theme which is emerging of necessity because of the false promise that healthcare is a right. It needs to be repeated and developed and repeated again and again.

And by the way, I thought the presentation by former Pennsylvania Congressman, John Peterson, evidencing the shutting down of the shale oil and gas retrieval efforts, and the drilling and exploration for other fossil resources nearly across the board, including leases on federal lands, was absolutely compelling.

A video posting of that presentation would make a great contribution to the task of waking even more people up to what is going on in Washington, because it would serve as a reminder to them of just one among many policies this Administration has implemented, that are preventing our national engine of prosperity from restarting.

I also liked your “happy warriors” comment. That was a very good call, Ed, because in the days and weeks and months ahead, one great struggle will be between those who can help inform the debate, and will persuade by the sheer force of their arguments, and those on the other side who are just relentlessly accusing all of us of being nothing but angry mobs and racists, and meanwhile, secretly hoping that some nut will go off so they can point the finger at all of us.

At this point, I honestly sense that is what many of those on the left think they may have to have happen to get their confiscatory ball rolling again, now that it has momentarily stalled on healthcare. You can almost see a pattern of deliberate provocation.

Michelle Malkin does another great job. The audio seemed a little weak. And she seemed a little tired–Jet lag from Colorado?
***
The ladies are doing a great job “taking point” for our liberties. Michelle’s smooth voice and thoughtful presentation did not hide the “steel in her spine”.
***
Keep up the good work.

That Michelle,

She’s tough, she’s beautiful, and she’s doing the job most conservative males refuse to do.

I love her.

I’ll defend her with everything I got. :o)

Could’ve done with a better headline photo though. Rather Palpatine-ish..
