Quotes of the day
posted at 9:30 pm on August 15, 2009 by Allahpundit
“‘I just lost my grandmother last year. I know what it’s like to watch somebody you love, who’s aging, deteriorate and have to struggle with that,’ an impassioned Obama told a crowd as he spoke of Madelyn Payne Dunham. He took issue with ‘the notion that somehow I ran for public office or members of Congress are in this so they can go around pulling the plug on grandma.’”

“A commenter on the Whole Foods forum, identified only by his handle, ‘PracticePreach,’ wrote, ‘It is an absolute slap in the face to the millions of progressive-minded consumers that have made [Whole Foods] what it is today.’
‘You should know who butters your hearth-baked bread, John,’ wrote the commenter.”

Ugh. Try this.
petefrt on August 16, 2009 at 9:03 AM
LOL Ed wears a shaved head prop so when he wants to go to the store, he doesnt have to have hundreds of his fans bother him!
he pulls it off and no one notices him with the full head of hair
blatantblue on August 16, 2009 at 9:05 AM

blatantblue on August 16, 2009 at 9:08 AM

I have to admit … the owner of Whole Foods should have known that the only people willing to pay double the price for food fertilized with cow manure and chicken droppings are the latte-sipping liberals.
I mean – that was just crazy for him to even speak out on this issue.
Now – if we acted like the left … we’d embrace Whole Foods now because the dude spoke out for our side and he’s being shunned by theirs. Kind of like the Dixie Chicks – who really don’t have a country audience any more but the libbies all love them (even though they rant against the racism that is inherent in the notes used in country music or something).
But … we’re not the left. And I doubt any of us will pay twice as much for scarred up fruits that are half eaten by insects.

But who is TMK?
Sorry this a running cryptic joke. Was that the running YAR tribute? It was very funny.

A MAN WHO WOULD THROW HIS GRANDMOTHER UNDER THE BUS TO SAVE THE LIKES OF JEREMIAH WRIGHT,
AND THEN REACH DOWN A DRAG HER BACK UP ON TO THE NATIONAL STAGE WHEN IT’S CONVENIENT -
AND THEN LIE ABOUT HIS CLOSENESS TO HER IS AN EVIL MAN.
EVIL.
Disgusting. Immoral. Evil.
Obama invoked his grandmother’s death as a way to PROVE his own “sensitivity” to death in order to repel the charge that Obamacare will lead to government rationing of care; (basically that the government will choose euthanasia over providing expensive health care to seniors – something the routinely do in Britain — where’s they’re setting a $45K limit on end of life spending).
The One was IMPASSIONED according to the AP reporter.
Sadly – IF NOT sickeningly, Obama’s DRAGGING HIS GRANDMOTHER OUT FROM UNDER THE BUS IS NOTHING BUT A HUGE DISGUSTING EVIL LIE.
HE HAD CHANCES TO VISIT HER IN HER LAST YEAR AND DIDN’T.
WHEN SHE WAS DYING, HE DIDN’T EVEN STAY LONG ENOUGH TO VISIT HER ON HER BIRTHDAY – DIDNLT BRING MICHELLE OR HIS KIDS.

I read this also. They need to scrap these current bills, talk about over reach.

“I just lost my grandmother”
What a classless sack of crap. Next thing you know Ochimpy will be using demagoguery on crap and trade and immigration claiming a personal tragedy because of Bushitlerco’s policies.
Also, for someone the liberal media attacks as stupid, Palin sure has defined this debate over the last few days. The reality of the death panels that will be the center piece of OchimpyCare has resonated with Americans and the traitorous dems are scared shitless.
csdeven on August 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM
I will start purchasing food from Whole Foods now.
OK, I’ve offset liberal #1 in New York City (It’s probably Allah), who is going to offset the douche bag in Long Beach?
csdeven on August 16, 2009 at 10:05 AM
Or on babies that survive abortions. They need to reduce the financial strain on OchimpCare created by the unproductive members of society. Ochimpy will help them die so as to decrease the surplus population.
csdeven on August 16, 2009 at 10:11 AM
Yes, it’s disgusting. Cheap and thoroughly disgusting.
petefrt on August 16, 2009 at 10:12 AM
then he would go even more euro and not count the baby’s death in the life expectancy stats
CWforFreedom on August 16, 2009 at 10:13 AM
I have never been to the new Whole Foods in our area but since somewhere in the comments I saw that they have a salad bar I might wing on in there. I am eagerly awaiting Monday to see how my Leftie, Whole Food shopping, Prius driving, Obama loving boss is taking this. She is actually a super lovely person but since the Democrats have caused our industry (student loans) to go poof, it will be interesting to see if she will have any sympathy for the insurance companies or this grocer.
Cindy Munford on August 16, 2009 at 10:16 AM
From the noted article:
He offered alternatives and is still vilified.
Now who is unhinged? Where is Mr. Frum?
CWforFreedom on August 16, 2009 at 10:18 AM
Posing as a conservative on some television show b!tching because no one will follow his advice.
Cindy Munford on August 16, 2009 at 10:23 AM
OT: anyone watching Fox News Sunday and Meet the Press?
Sadly, Wallace has Shelby, who’s weak on the issue, and some AMA and AARP tools.
As it is, the better debate in on MTP because that’s where Coburn is. And by the way, I HATE Daschle. Though he’s an advisor, I’m so glad he got bounced. God forgive me, I wish someone would pull his plug. He’s a douche.
BuckeyeSam on August 16, 2009 at 10:29 AM
Bozo did not mention his brother, who presently lives in a hut in Kenya. Bozo has done NOTHING for him. Her has an aunt in Boston living here as an illegal alien.
All he has done for her is call off INS, but even that came late. She almost got sent back. (and she should have)

Socialism is always evil and never works. It’s predicated on the rights of the State OVER the rights of the individual. We need to keep the looters out and that includes a federal government takeover of medicine. We already know what it will look like. It will look like:
Federal Indian Reservation Health Care – 3rd world level health care
Federal Medicare – bankrupt
Federal Medicaid – bankrupt
VA Hospitals – inferior, hopelessly bureaucratic, convoluted health care
Just say NO!
Mojave Mark on August 16, 2009 at 10:36 AM
I’d feel a little more reassured about his grandmother comment if I really thought that he was going to be under the Universal Health Care plan but like Congress he’s not. Laws and Health Care plans are for the masses, not for the elite.

“Pull the plug on Grandma”
We need to use that over and over and over again.
That must be the line that is getting thru in their polling data……..and then he invokes his racist White grandmother to garner humanity? Another example that it’s the Seniors that are going to kill this bill.
Let’s hope he’s trying to ‘rahm’ this thru destroys them permanently with their Senior base. Heck by the time 2012 rolls around there may be all kinds of “groups” in the electorate that might be up for grabs.
Keep talking “death panels”, Keep talking that 80% of healthcare expense is for the elderly, keep sending emails, making calls, forwarding his OWN WORDS”.
It’s making a difference.
PappyD61 on August 16, 2009 at 11:06 AM
It’s true; “death panels” probably wasn’t the best choice of words. “Bureau of life and death” might have been better.
Kralizec on August 16, 2009 at 12:40 PM
I assure you, I feel much differently about my grandparents and parents than I do about most other elderly men and women. Obama, another mere human being, cannot reasonably be thought to love other seniors as he loves his grandparents. Counting the living and the dead, Obama has four grandparents. The rest of the Americans are on their own.
Kralizec on August 16, 2009 at 1:08 PM
These libs are too much! They cannot handle the truth about socialism, the fact is, if we lived in a socialist country, Whole Foods would not be the great store it is, I’m so glad I can shop at Whole Foods for my family. I might add, how do the libs think they made his fortune possible? Can’t conservatives appreciate good food too?
4shoes on August 16, 2009 at 1:46 PM
Me too.
It took real courage for him to say that. I’m shopping there as well.
Here is the website location for all af their stores.
Trochilus on August 16, 2009 at 7:03 PM
My view, exactly.
TXMomof3 on August 16, 2009 at 7:20 PM
Mine too.
Great men rise above the constraints of time. They learn from history and anticipate the future. The office they hold becomes more important than even their own person.
Not so in this case.
I wish our president would stand on the edge of the Grand Canyon and ponder the greatness of our God and nation, as most people do at the Grand Canyon.
I fear he will stand and think, “All this is mine.”
