Right Online interview: Melissa Clouthier
posted at 2:55 pm on August 14, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
For my first interview from the Right Online, I chatted with my friend Dr. Melissa Clouthier, who writes at John Hawkins’ Right Wing News. Both Melissa and I enjoyed John’s opening remarks that kicked off the conference, which challenged the people to get better at organizing than our counterparts across town at Netroots Nation. Melissa and I talked about the conference, what brings her to Pittsburgh, and the challenge of conservative organization.

Fraudbama to appear in moments. I am not going to watch a single word drip from his lying, defrauding, evil mouth.

Enough with the uninspired nicknames please. It’s getting less funny than before, when it wasn’t funny at all.

Ed, are you flying a plane or talking into a microphone?
Dude, its the 21st century.
lorien1973 on August 14, 2009 at 3:01 PM
Hope he read the bill this time. Hope their are no AARP or AMA slip ups. Perhaps this time he can say that doctors routinely remove brains to get extra Medicare money. It might be true with all the air headed plants he puts in these gatherings.

What’s going on here? This chick looks very much like MegMac.
Do the people running this site have a thing for zoftig young blondes? (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

Chaos always wins, because it’s better organized.
If all else fails, hit it with a big hammer.

Is Barry getting paid by the number of appearances he makes?
The sad part is that we, the taxpayers, are footing the bill.

Question 1: some female sychophant.
Laid off, two kids on medicaid. Compare his plan to Canada and Britain.
We pay $5K more per person than any other country.
Those countries have a socialized system.
He wants a uniquely American system. Max isn’t workin’ on that.
No, Obama. Let’s separate insurance from employment.
BuckeyeSam on August 14, 2009 at 3:32 PM
I knew they wouldn’t let in any “trouble makers”, but this is ridiculous. We’re supposed to believe that in all of Montana, there is no opposition at all? Please.I can’t believe anyone would not think this is a bunch of plants.Standing ovations? I mean his numbers are in the tank.unbelievable.

Question: Under your plan can I still sue my Doctor for malpractice? And if I can, isn’t that like me suing the government? Also, what provisions do you have in place to protect malpractice lawyers?
bloggless on August 14, 2009 at 3:37 PM
No, as he said, he wants people who are outside of the normal political system to do it. So there is no accountability.
See how that works?
lorien1973 on August 14, 2009 at 3:37 PM
Please tell me you’re joking. He didn’t say “double vasectomy,” right?

DID HE SAY DOUBLE VASECTOMY? PLEASE CONFIRM.
bloggless on August 14, 2009 at 3:38 PM
Second question: middle-aged man.
Re Medicare, what will be the expense if we open up coverage to all.
Obama’s lying. Eliminate practices that will net saving. He’s dumping on Medicare Advantage.
He’s giving an example that’s absurd–second and third visits to the hospital to correct the first procedure. I think most people call the malpractice lawyer after the first mistake.
He doesn’t know this areas; his examples are always entirely irrelevent.
BuckeyeSam on August 14, 2009 at 3:39 PM
Wouldn’t a double vasectomy be a penectomy? I think he meant mastectomy but flubbed.
andy85719 on August 14, 2009 at 3:39 PM
Didn’t bill Clinton have two? Or a double header or something?

bloggless on August 14, 2009 at 3:42 PM
Vasectomy means the severing of the vasa deferentia of the penis so as to render a man sterile. Bill Clinton had heart bypass surgery.

Obama got asked about paying for it.
He claims two-thirds it can be obtained by savings from insurance companies, which leaves $30 billion. He reiterates the taxes on the rich. The crowd cheers wildly.

Obama is bringing to light one of our problems: We don’t see the real cost of employer-provided insurance and, by extension, the real cost of medical care.
As he describes portability in the same manner as McCain. In this regard, if you lose your job, how do you “keep” your policy?
Ah, the public plan–the USPS plan. He’s trying to address the driving out argument.
He’s lying.

sandee on August 14, 2009 at 3:58 PM
Fox is going to pillory Obama tonight. O’Reilly was already chastising Obama for not making any sense at all and attacking Fox. Talking points memo is going to be juicy. Obama only had plants here, we are going to find out some of these questioners worked in the Obama campaign, and we are going to see pictures of Obama fishing. Furthermore, we shall see numerous reports of the multiple errors that Obama made, both numerical and policy-based, and we shall see Gibbs flubbing around to explain Obama’s lies. Sooner or later we have to just call Obama what he is, not a mistater but a bold-faced, unapologetic liar. He makes Bill Clinton look like a priest.
andy85719 on August 14, 2009 at 3:58 PM
Question: will public option pay for itself unlike Medicare and Medicaid?
He’s providing a nonsense answer. Everything is solved by savings.
This is fantasyland.
