Right Online interview: Dave Weigel
posted at 3:35 pm on August 14, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
Dave Weigel of the Washington Independent joins me to discuss both the Right Online conference and Netroots Nation, which he had just left. Dave tells us that the NRN crowd seems subdued — in his words, like “the dog who caught the car.” Arlen Specter gets a surprisingly warm reception at NRN, though, and Joe Sestak didn’t exactly set the crowd on fire. Weigel also thinks that health-care reform isn’t quite as dead as its opponents hope, and that Democrats may think that the fierce opposition now will turn to support in 2010 if it passes, as Bill Clinton told them last night.

Blowback

I can’t quite figure out what that’s saying. Do Democrats believe that people who are fiercely against ObamaCare now may support Democrats in 2010 if it passes?
That seems… implausible.

I’d like somebody to ask Dave Weigel his role in coming up with a forged Australian birth certificate which was only posted online AFTER the Kenyan Obama certificate was already online.
I’d also like them to ask him his role in coming up with a blogger’s images of a certificate made to look like the Kenyan Obama certificate in the process of being forged BUT having extra marks that didn’t appear on the posted Kenyan certificate, thus obviously not being the same document as what was posted.
He “broke” both stories – both involving forgeries aimed at “debunking” the Kenyan certificate. Did he know these were forgeries when he wrote his articles on them?
Whether the Kenyan document is authentic is not known, but muddying the waters with a bunch of obvious lies is neither helpful nor responsible journalism.
So why is this guy being interviewed?

I heard a clip of Clinton on this, this morning, on the radio. Clinton was very enthusiastic, and said that basically, once we saw how great this was going to be, we’d LOVE it, and them. That’s my take on it. I personally think he’s full of IT, and himself. Much like Obama.

Has anyone told Hillary that Bill is stealing her thunder once again? First on diplomatic ties with N. Korea, and now nationalized health care, which is also her expertise?

Study the lawsuits. Reference Mario Puzzio and the other attorneys.

Tony Soprano, thanks for the link.
Did you follow the Free Republic threads on the Kenyan certificate, the fake Australian one, and the “Punked” blogger claim?

Yeah we will be happy about Health Care reform in 2010 because it does not take effect yet. OOpps! And when the elections happen we might be able to repeal it before it ever happens and be real real happy!!

I think Bill is pimping health care knowing it might cost Obama a second term. What Clinton would get is the world’s largest bureaucracy controlling 17% of the US economy. In the UK the public Health care system for 60 million is the world’s third largest employee standing behind the Indian railway system that serves 1.3 billion people and the Red Army of China which cracks heads for 1.2 billion folks.
The Health care “vote” in the UK prevents any changes to the system.
Bill Clinton/Hillary/Dems can’t wait for those kind of days. As a bonus, if it cost Obama a second term they would be shocked, I tell you shocked!. Whatever it is worth the gamble, as some see, it to force it though Congress for the possible long term votes once the bureaucracy is in place.

What do you expect them to believe Ed? They are Democrats! They will grasp at anything that gives them hope. Therefore, conservatives should be doubly determined to make sure that the “fierce opposition” remain a “fierce opposition” through 2010. Simple!
