Paul Begala: Palin’s “about a half a whack job”

posted at 9:20 pm on August 14, 2009 by Allahpundit

Comment bait on a slow Friday night. She’s had a good week and The One’s had a bad one and someone’s clearly a very cranky boy about it. Note, too, his effusive praise for Gingrich as a set-up for his nasty attack on Sarahcuda. That’s a favorite tactic of Begala’s, framing himself as “reasonable” and nonpartisan so that the rhetorical groin-punch that follows stings more. See, e.g., his kind words for Michael Steele as a prelude to calling Rush Limbaugh a “corpulent drug addict.”

As for Newt’s advice to Palin: “Write a book”? Set up a shop inside the Beltway? Except for number four, any Hot Air commenter could have offered the same wisdom. When did Newt suddenly turn so prosaic? Stop phoning it in, bro!

Full-on hack job calls Palin half a whack job.

Now you’ve done it. I’ll have that tune in my head all night with visions of Eastwood, Savalas and Oddball floating by.

“Don’t hit me with them negative waves so early in the morning. Think the bridge will be there and it will be there. It’s a mother******* beautiful bridge, and it’s gonna be there. Ok?” — Oddball

Begala’s such a whore. He should be out on the street in a strapless and high heels.

SDSquint on August 15, 2009 at 11:29 AM

Half a whack job? Who Palin?

How about a total whack job? Is Obama a total whack job?

Either Obama is a liar or a socialist. For 2 and a half years I watched Obama talk of his socialist agenda. I truly do not think that Obama is a liar. After all he said what he wanted to do. And still the american voters elected him.

“Under my plan electricty cost will skyrocket”
“the coal industry will go bankrupt”
“single payer medical will come “

Palin is a vocal conservative who happens to be an attractive woman.

Unleash the hounds!

Palin is no part a whack job.

But Begala is a full blown equine rectum.

novaculus on August 15, 2009 at 12:17 PM

I just have to laugh, if Palin is such a joke why do they feel threaten by her? I think the more the left go after her the more they show their fear of her.

Teleycoman on August 15, 2009 at 12:23 PM

Did anyone catch that asshat on O’Reilly last night. Laura Ingraham was guest-hosting and she did a segment with a WT reporter (name escapes me) and a tool who used to be an advisor to Barry. They were talking about Sarah Palin’s “death panel” comment. This smug jackass said he expects Sarah Palin to be dating Flava Flav (spelling?) in a couple of months. He illustrated perfectly how unhinged the left is over Palin and how they must turn her into a tabloid joke.

I have to get that book Rules for Radicals. This is the Bible of the left.

Teleycoman on August 15, 2009 at 12:23 PM

Oh yes…so right…and I’m curious to see what has been they drag out next to ridicule her…hahaha…

jerrytbg on August 15, 2009 at 1:00 PM

Seriously, I cannot fathom why CNN continues to invite Paul Begala as a political pundit. The only credible line on his resume is ‘…getting Clinton elected’. Way too partisan and offensive for my taste. Inviting Paul to comment on any conservative politician or position is like inviting John Wayne Gacy to your 4-year-old son’s birthday party — except Paul has less skill with wall spackle.

16MPG on August 15, 2009 at 1:17 PM

Palin drives the left, and many others crazy… She can rally the troops far faster and better than any of these hacks. Right at the end, ‘this is an excellent issue for her, she should keep fighting’. Totally.
-
For now her job is to DRIVE THEM INSANE. One smack down after another, while Obsh*tter gets hammered on being a socialist/Marxist/commie race baiting megalomaniac.

Lots of wackjobs out there. Why talk about her??
Unless, of course, she’s a wackjob that’s a threat?!

Palin Wins:

If she’s dim and Obama is brilliant, how did he lose the argument to her?

Every time they point a bony finger at Palin she gives them a nice paper cut and pours lemon juice on it.
Sarah is unleashed and the left is unhinged.

Beautiful, especially the way Taranto demolishes the idiotic inconsistency of that TalkingPointsMemo entry.

too bad for Begalia, while Palin’s “intellectual heft” is rising, his is on par with, and only capable of rising to the likes of pelosi’s and biden’s – nuff said?

Palin scored and scored again on Obumbles last week! The Forehead only proves it.

Bill Ayers’ famous quip “guilty as hell free as a bird

Don’t Need a Weatherman
The clouded mind of Bill Ayers.
by Ronald Radosh
10/08/2001,

Indeed, the very morning of the attack, the New York Times printed a fawning profile of Ayers and his comrade in terror, Bernardine Dohrn. Under the headline “No Regrets for a Love of Explosives,” accompanied by a large color photo of the couple, Ayers boasts that he bombed New York City’s police headquarters in 1970, the Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972—and proudly adds, “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.” Asked whether he would do it again, he answers, “I don’t want to discount the possibility.” Or, as he puts it in Fugitive Days: A Memoir, “I can’t imagine entirely dismissing the possibility.”

How dumb do you have to be to declare

“As for Ayers well he has always maintained his innocence

Seriously, are you an idiot?

“skimming wikipedia I don’t see it there”

Spathi

Well there yur problem man!

Yo be A skimming wikipedia!

BTW, does wikipedia still list the comic “Sinbad” as dead?

“Actor-comedian Sinbad had the last laugh after his Wikipedia entry announced he was dead, the performer said. “Saturday I rose from the dead and then died again”. Apparently, someone edited entry to say Sinbad died of a heart attack. By the time the error was caught, e-mail links of the erroneous page had been forwarded to hundreds of people.”

You know you’re doing a good job when “The Forehead” goes after you.

JG2K6 on August 15, 2009 at 4:46 PM

I don’t admire her using him as a political prop to pander to those with disabilities, pro-lifers,

Magnus

Uhm, she has been traveling around the country raising money for special needs children, though you most likely don’t know that.

The weekend that Letterman used to make his “rape” joke about Palin’s 14 year-old daughter, she had raised $750K.

That’s hardly “using him as a political prop”.

BTW, why didn’t you know that?

DSchoen on August 15, 2009 at 4:57 PM

“This smug jackass said he expects Sarah Palin to be dating Flava Flav (spelling?) in a couple of months. He illustrated perfectly how unhinged the left is over Palin and how they must turn her into a tabloid joke.”

I watched this and Laura reeled the ratbag in. Each time she she questioned his remarks he rattled on a little more. Palin’s writings on facebook have been good. The ratbags villifications will backfire as more people actually read what she has written instead of listening to the MSM parrot the ratbags talking points.

WRT Gingrich – The suggestion she get a job as a commentator looked out of place to me. Palin should not do anything that looks as is she is part of the status quo.

davod on August 15, 2009 at 6:09 PM

WRT Gingrich’s write a book comment. Palin should write two. A biography and a smaller tome on policy.

davod on August 15, 2009 at 6:13 PM

Nothing much to it, actually.

Thanks, I always wanted to know how to do that.

Love the way the libs work:
- Pretend you’re not a socialist
- Lie
- Try to sound like an elite (I’m arrogant so I must be right!)
- Don’t argue facts (unless you have a ton of FALSE facts on the tip of your tongue)
- Ad hominem attack (name calling)
- Ad hominem attack (false accusations)
- Ad hominem attack (build strawmen)
- Ad hominem attack (work the family)
- Ad hominem attack (quote unnamed sources)
And they wonder why their popularity is tanking!

Christian Conservative on August 15, 2009 at 9:05 PM

Tell me Begala how many Senate bills did they change because you made a statement? Within the week –no less!

Herb on August 15, 2009 at 9:53 PM

This from the guy who spends every waking moment of his life “whacking off” on CNN or MSNBC. (Not literally of course)

hawkdriver on August 16, 2009 at 4:21 AM

This guy talks to talk. Just stirs more of the anti-palin schtick in the name of keeping himself “relevant.”

ChalkPerson on August 16, 2009 at 11:35 AM

I’m glad that even the dumbest and most partisan of the Democrats are so concerned about the fate of the Republican party and the nation that they feel compelled to constantly advise us on how to succeed in defeating Democrats!!

Palin to thee clowns is like throwing holy water on a demon.
What are they so afraid of?

johnnyU on August 16, 2009 at 11:32 PM

They continue to try to push the “tabloid” image of her, but Palin’s got substance and they can’t stand it. If she had nothing to offer, they’d ignore her. The Alinsky “freeze the target” isn’t working as well as they hoped. She sees through their tactics and she’s learning to fight back pretty well and I’m sure it isn’t easy with the lunatic fringe from the left that she’s dealing with.
