Video: ObamaCare fans take Astroturfing to a new level; Mayer an OFA organizer

posted at 10:11 am on August 13, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Patterico and Lone Star Times capture yet another banner moment from a town-hall forum hosted by Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX) . In this clip, Roxana Mayer introduces herself as a doctor (a general practitioner for four years) in order to support ObamaCare and Jackson-Lee in a fairly hostile crowd. For her efforts, she gets a big hug from the Congresswoman, an image which the Houston Chronicle featured prominently on their website coverage of the event.

But was Mayer really a doctor?

Not only was Mayernot a doctor, Roxana Mayer was an Obama delegate, as Patterico discovered with some digging.  What’s more, the Houston Chronicle apparently knew this and failed to include it in its glowing coverage of Mayer’s appearance.  The reporter, Cindy Horswell, has admitted that she knew Mayer was an Obama delegate and that Mayer didn’t live in Jackson-Lee’s district when she wrote the Chronicle story.  After getting exposed, the Chronicle quietly changed the caption on the photo without issuing a correction, removing the reference to Mayer being a doctor.

Be sure to read all of the posts for a great rundown of an excellent catch by Patterico and Lone Star Times.  At the moment, no one has any evidence that Jackson-Lee, the White House, or Organizing for America had anything to do with getting this imposter the microphone to ask a sympathetic question and make sympathetic declarations at the town-hall forum.  However, the odds of that happening as a coincidence with an Obama delegate seem a little long.

Update: Those odds just got a little longer.  Guess who was a lead organizer for OfA back in March 2008?  Thanks to Allahpundit for tipping me to this!

Update II: Right Wing Sparkle calls OfA “shameless.”

The Interview of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, by Rick “Man in the Mirror” Sanchez. And Greta Van Susteran. Made quick note that this elected official is a fraud. I have never seen such fillerbustering by an elected official EVER.

This Congresswoman is 95% Clueless, And could possibly need medication. To plant Roxana Mayer in the front row in the first chair. Despicable. To have her claim shes a doctor. VILE. To have the elected Congresswoman hug this FAKE, is beyond any faith we should have in elected officials.

SJL claims she was on a hotline for info to the questions being asked. She as someone who said she has read the Bill needs tips on what to say? Sorry Jackson-Lee. You will be voted out. UNLESS! I’m not from Texas or her district.

Well if the polls say 95% of Blacks think Barrack is doing a good job. And if her district is mostly black. hmmmm. hard to figure who will be voted in.

Okay, I haven’t seen this point mentioned in any columns I’ve read (don’t know about comments) so I thought I’d post this some places and see if anyone thinks it makes sense.

A big part of the LLD (Liberal/Leftist/Democrat) criticism of the town hall activities is the claim that the Right is preventing free speech and a serious discussion of the issue of health care by shouting down all opposition.

I think that is quite an exaggeration, but my point is this:

Is it not true that, before the August recess, the LLDs were pushing very very hard to get the bill passed BEFORE the recess – thus preventing any chance of a discussion happening at all? That is, of course, on top of trying to get the bill passed without Congress even having a reasonable time to study it.

Seems to me that we are seeing serious hypocrisy at work!

RATS I missed her on Greta last night!

Was it worth it? Gee, will she get to go on MSNBC where the people will understand her and her plight?

Psssst Hey Ms Jackson Lee – time to MAN UP lady!

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee – Time to Man Up!

Uh, oh. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee might have stepped in it too deep this time. Remember the phone call she has been taking heat for? You know, the one at the town hall that she took while Trace Miller was asking her a question about HR 3200, the Democrat’s attempt to socialize healthcare in America?

During a television appearance on Fox News’ On the Record with Greta Van Susteren, Rep. Jackson Lee invited Ms. Miller to attend the remaining town halls she is having so that she could “tell her, there was no offense, sorry Trace, we can work through this and I hope I can convince her to support HR 3200″.

Well, Ms. Miller has taken this one step further and asked Rep. Jackson Lee to either debate her on the bill or to share the stage with her at a forum on the bill. Take a look:

To be surprised at any of this is to have not paid attention all through the hope and change lollapalooza leading up to the coronation of Obama. You had a big, burly man crying for the cameras in Chicago during a speech by the One, only to discover later he was an employed for the cameras and the cause. It’s the Chicago way. Who loves ya baby? Al Capone baseball bat upside the head Chicago democrats, that’s who.

Well dang! I could pretend to be a doctor and make a heck of a lot more money than I am now.

Lefties cry when Americans raise their voices. Meanwhile, they blatantly LIE and make themselves into laughingstocks.

It’s tough to be a leftie these days. Not that I feel sorry for them.

Is Obama care going to hire fake doctors to treat the fake disease?
Who gets sent to fake doctors?

It’s illegal to represent yourself as a doctor when you are not. Practicing medicine without a license….Throw her ass in jail along with the guy recommending the red pill.
