Video: Go flag yourself

The more you do it, the better you get at it, the more enjoyable it becomes. Trust a beta male on that. Even so, is this really necessary? What right-wing blog reader worth his salt hasn’t already flagged himself silly? Nearly every e-mail we’ve gotten this afternoon about the fishy Axelrod spam proudly boasts about it. You flagging maniacs, you.

Featuring a special cameo from the current number-one bestselling author on the New York Times’s nonfiction list.

They are going after Glenn Beck, you know they are coming after talk radio. Sites like this that have conservative commenters…Where does it stop? See ya’ll on 9/12 in DC.

TXMomof3 on August 13, 2009 at 8:10 PM

Have you read Rovin’s post on the FCC Diversity Czar in the Green Room?

Disturb the Universe on August 13, 2009 at 8:11 PM

Beck will survive this. He has known this for a while. If you’re a praying person, do it.

I have a feeling this will be a pivitol move for both sides and Beck will make it.

Curious to hear what he says tomorrow. Probably doesn’t want those foolish idiots back anyway.

I mean, come on… Beck…promoting Progressive insurance??? Ha.

Subject: Something Fishy

Hi,

Below is a fishy piece of mis-information about healthcare that you
requested be sent if we see something. This is from the Daily Kos. Very
fishy mis-information indeed!

OFA, PFAW, Unions Organizing Against Tea Party Mobs
by mcjoan
Thu Aug 06, 2009 at 11:30:03 AM PDT

With Dem members of Congress being hung in effigy, told to commit suicide,
receiving death threats, being physically assaulted, it’s time for organized
efforts by progressives too bring a little sanity to the process. To that
end, Obama’s political organization, OFA, is starting a new campaign,
“explicitly directing supporters to get the backs of members of Congress at
public meetings.” From the sample e-mail

I wanted to send you an urgent invitation to an important town hall with
Rep. Frank Kratovil, Jr. this afternoon, Thursday, August 6th. He’ll be
talking to constituents and gathering feedback – this is an ideal
opportunity to make sure your support for health insurance reform is seen
and heard at exactly the right time.

Our congressional representatives are back home this month, and they’re
facing more and more pressure from special interests on health insurance
reform. It’s critical that we get out there and show them where we stand.

They’ve also stepped up the effort to show that the majority of Americans
really do want reform by asking members to call their member of Congress,
and then register the call with OFA.

PFAW is making a similar effort among its members. Here’s part of the e-mail
they sent today:

Progressives can’t let themselves be out-organized on the health care
issue and need to counter these lie-driven mobs. It’s time for progressives
to make their presence known and their voices heard. Tell your members of
Congress not to be intimidated and to reject mob tactics.

Here’s what you can do:

1. Email your congressional representatives if you have not already.

2. Follow up your email with a phone call (find contact information
here).

3. Find a town hall event near you this recess and attend.

Labor is also getting in the act. A memo sent out today by AFL-CIO President
Joahn Sweeney describes how the organization will activate its members.

The principal battleground in the campaign will be town hall meetings
and other gatherings with members of Congress in their home districts,”
reads the memo. “We want your help to organize major union participation to
counter the right-wing “Tea-Party Patriots” who will try to disrupt those
meetings, as they’ve been trying to do to meetings for the last month. …

(Remember the hooligans – many of them Republican Congressional staff -
who harassed Florida vote counters in 2000? We can’t let that happen
again!).”

Show up, is the message. And you shouldn’t have to be a member of OFA or
PFAW or any union to get organized to do it. You can find great tools for
finding a townmeeting or forum and a strategy memo [pdf] at HCAN. FDL also
has a townmeeting tracker widget running on Campaign Silo, where you can see
who’s holding meetings and when.

FDL also has a special shout-out today for folks in the Denver area. At 2:00
today, Reps. Degette and Polis will be appearing with Speaker Pelosi at the
Stout Street Clinic at 2100 Broadway. Michelle Malkin has called for her
minions to show up and disrupt the event. So all you Denver folks for whom
this isn’t too short of a notice, go get the details at FDL and show up.

OT here, but a serious concern:

Just 24 hours after open enrollment for commenters, we racists and bigots seem to have cleared the field of a promising field of new trolls.

Where is the gay, muslim, american, Iranian-expatriate, former-Hillary supporter Billary?

What happened to AfroLib?

Has anyone heard from the guy from ny?

Shouldn’t we have been more, um, welcoming to their diverse opinions?

If we keep blowing them out at this rate, we’ll be reduced to calling each other racists, bigots and A**hats.

Where’s the fun in that?

guntotinglibertarian on August 13, 2009 at 8:17 PM

I like how all the people/conservatives on here claim to be the moral lights the country need, then use flag like the F word.

Not surprising when you have a hero like michelle who curses on her blog all the time. Not that that’s an issue, it just doesn’t make much sense when you’re claiming the moral highground, much like bill bennet and his gambling addiction.

The way I was taught, that means she’s not keeping holy the sabbath, or something.

He’s got a serious problem with Michelle, it seems, as well as a problem understanding that he could…um…not read things written by people he doesn’t like. Maybe if more people exercised that notion, Frum wouldn’t have a single reader apart from Allah.

But then again Beck is the only one with balls enough to call out the Obama admin on all the dirty details.

“Yes, I Tracy Bonner am against the government involvement in our health care system. I see it as unconstitutional and do not believe that our founders had this in mind when the constitution was written and I envision them crying out from their graves at our current state of affairs in this country as the government continues to intrude in our lives.

So flag me,

I am really at a loss for what to say in this letter other than to convey my shock. To start, abhorrent party animals are born, not made. That dictum is as unimpeachable as the “poeta nascitur, non fit” that it echoes and as irreproachable as the brocard that Democratic Congress recently went through a particularism phase in which it tried repeatedly to support international crime while purporting to oppose it. In fact, I’m not convinced that this phase of its has entirely passed. My evidence is that as long as the beer keeps flowing and the paychecks keep coming, Democratic Congress’s lickspittles don’t really care that those of us who are too lazy or disinterested to encourage our spirits to soar have no right to complain when it and its spokesmen impair the practice of democracy.

When Democratic Congress is challenged, it either denies everything or claims that its words were taken out of context and that its enemies are plotting against it. The denial of this fact only proves the effrontery, and also the stupidity, of jackbooted, randy sideshow barkers. Democratic Congress’s apparatchiks are hardly strangers to elitism. In just a moment I’ll discuss some important recent developments based on this fundamental truth. First, however, I want to add a bit to what I wrote previously. If Democratic Congress had lived the short, sickly, miserable life of a chattel serf in the ages “before technocracy” it wouldn’t be so keen to hijack the word “phenolsulphonephthalein” and use it to provide the pretext for police-state measures. Maybe it’d even begin to realize that it ignores a breathtaking number of facts, most notably:

Fact: It is a small dollop of pond scum masquerading as an organization.

Fact: It functions not as a social critic, but as an unoriginal imitator of the ruling ideologues.

Fact: It should exercise greater judiciousness when extolling unilateralism.

In addition, its criticisms of my letters have never successfully disproved a single fact I ever presented. Instead, Democratic Congress’s criticisms are based solely on its emotions and gut reactions. Well, I refuse to get caught up in its “I think … I believe … I feel” game.

Too many emotions to count raced through my mind when I first realized that some reputed—as opposed to reputable—members of Democratic Congress’s army of gin-swilling pipsqueaks quite adamantly allege that we ought to worship worthless, vengeful polluters as folk heroes. I find it rather astonishing that anyone could think such a thing but then again, Democratic Congress’s victims have been speaking out for years. Unfortunately, their voices have long been silenced by the roar and thunder of Democratic Congress’s protégés, who loudly proclaim that the most valuable skill one can have is to be able to lie convincingly. Regardless of those maledicent proclamations, the truth is that if I said that it is a spokesman for God, I’d be a liar. But I’d be being utterly honest if I said that I’m no psychiatrist. Still, from the little I know about psychiatry I can unequivocally say that Democratic Congress seems to exhibit many of the symptoms of Asperger’s syndrome. I don’t say that to judge but merely to put Democratic Congress’s tendentious, destructive imprecations into perspective. Let me end by saying that I know that what I have written in this letter will send many readers (especially any who are big fans of Democratic Congress) into a tizzy or a tantrum. I am sorry, but I remind them that Democratic Congress’s methods of interpretation provide a vivid example of how Democratic Congress seems to have a bitter ideological conflict with my statement that it’s a social liability.

Okay. I have read every single post in this thread and maybe I missed it, and it appears no one else has asked (which is somewhat disturbing because either all you guys are brain dead or I’m just wayyy out of the loop), but…

WHO IS THE BLONDE WITH THE ALLURING BLUE EYES AND BEGUILING SMILE THAT APPEARS IN THE VIDEO AFTER BILL WHITTLE?

Please… I must know. She is the cats meow. Wow.

bessex on August 14, 2009 at 2:24 AM

Flagged myself. Even if they were offering a wonderful, improved health system (they’re not)… I want to keep the freedom to choose.

It’s my e-mail, and I’ll flag it any way I want to.

flagging and typing again?

blatantblue on August 13, 2009 at 7:47 PM

I thought I heard the sound of one hand flagging.

soundingboard on August 14, 2009 at 5:39 AM

I like how all the people/conservatives on here claim to be the moral lights the country need, then use flag like the F word.

Not surprising when you have a hero like michelle who curses on her blog all the time. Not that that’s an issue, it just doesn’t make much sense when you’re claiming the moral highground, much like bill bennet and his gambling addiction.

TTheoLogan on August 13, 2009 at 8:10 PM

Flag you.

Are you serious about language as a moral high-ground. There are so many topics that liberals are compeltely empty on morals – if your only example for conservatives is our language, then you just have verified what we all now.

I just flagged myself for all the good it will do:

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to report myself for spreading the truth about the fishy House health care bill HR3200. Unlike most members of Congress, and perhaps the President himself, I have read all 1017 pages of it. I find many of the provisions interesting. I find others shocking. Some are even appalling. Much of what the White House calls propaganda spread by “right-wing extremist groups,” “swastika carrying astroturfers,” “teabaggers” (classy one), and “evil-mongers” turns out to be absolutely true.

Rather than address the fact that the bill is unacceptable to most Americans in its current form and work toward creating a plan which is a better solution for our great country, the President is content to spin the bill, conceal the truth, and to organize union thugs to crash town hall meetings with Chicago-style strong-arm tactics.

I would like to read the Senate bill, but it is not available. I would also like to read the President’s bill, but he doesn’t have a plan.

It becomes rather obvious that Washington is not capable of administering major health care reform—especially that which is experimental, costly, and permanent. The USA has the greatest health care system in the world in most respects. I find Washington to be incredibly arrogant in thinking they can run it better than the experts who run it now when they can’t manage to run the USPS effectively or to fund Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid even now after having looted the coffers and written IOUs to the funds for decades.

I suggest the President take his sights off our health care system and find something else to socialize, like maybe golf courses or something.

Well, I haven’t flagged myself yet, but I did flag this site: http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck/faq for having fishy statements by someone named Barack Obama. He was saying that the bill is deficit neutral and the CBO shows that to be false.

Chris of Rights on August 14, 2009 at 10:03 AM

Flagging myself was exhilarating, hope you get the same reaction.

Dear Dude/Dudette,
sit down.
the ‘high ground’ has nothing to do w/ language that’s too ’street worthy’ for the likes of you.
Therefore, i wish to inform you
…when the real PATRIOTS come marching in…..
there will probably be a ‘language warning’ attached.
.
signed: a good FK U & we’re outta here!
