New proof that all town-hall protesters are racist: Guy tears up woman’s Rosa Parks poster

posted at 1:25 pm on August 13, 2009 by Allahpundit

A “Larger Truth” brought to you by the same nutroots liars who now insist that eight years of Bush = Hitler rhetoric was fringe stuff that shouldn’t be used to tar the entire left. I suppose if you can believe that quoting the Boston Globe amounts to “stalking,” you can believe that fears of socialized medicine are really all about resegregating buses. Funny thing about this: The whole thing happens so fast, and the perpetrator’s angle of view is so acute, that it looks like he never even saw what was on the poster. As McCaskill herself — to her great credit — notes in the second clip below, this was almost certainly a case of overreaction to the “no signs allowed” policy at the town hall rather than some targeted attack on a civil-rights icon. But this is where our national “debate” is right now, so behold racism in action. QED.

How is a charge of “racism” even an issue? If you are not racist and get falsely labeled as a racist by left wing neo-Marxists then it just pisses you off and you fight harder. If you are a racist then you know it and don’t care anyway. Just seems pointless to me.

Why can’t it be used to push through Obamacare?

I don’t get the Rosa Parks connection.

Without being snarky, can someone tell me, from that woman’s perspective, what Rosa Parks have to do with this?

And once someone can tell me that, snark away.

YYZ on August 13, 2009 at 1:33 PM

Democrats have not yet explained what exactly is “racist” about wanting to keep your private health insurance and to have the government stay as far away from your private health matters as possible.

That’s like calling people who don’t like Islam “racist.” It has nothing to do with “race” and everything to do with ideas and ideology.

Maybe one of the resident libtrolls can help out here and explain.

Good Lt on August 13, 2009 at 1:33 PM

Claire McCaskill can use her Mrs. Cleaver “Mommy” voice all she wants but as one of the most vocal proponents of Messiah during the campaign there is no way she is going to vote against him. I see a lot of pre-damage control as it were.

Claire McClasskill is in way over her head. Her town hall was a joke, she talks out of both sides of her fat a$$. I’m tired of seeing her on every television, trying to ingratiate herself to the media and voters. We don’t trust you!
As far as the poster tearing, who the f*ck cares? I watched a president being burned in effigy, bloody hands by Code Stink all over a sitting Secretary of State, and various hippy, smelly people that need a flea dip, marching in the streets against our military and hating our country. So, F*CK OFF with your righteousness…no one gives a F*CK!

Wow, McCaskill really stepped up on that very transparent effort by Cooper to foment racial unrest. He basically had to backtrack and blame the race meme on “liberal” websites promoting the story. Ouch! That’s gonna leave a tiny mark on the race-hustlers out there.

Rational Thought on August 13, 2009 at 1:35 PM

Anderson sure finds it hard to believe that this wasn’t totally racist, which is what his buddies on the liberal blogs have been pushing…glad to see there is still some skepticism in the MSM.

AUINSC on August 13, 2009 at 1:35 PM

I love this, from Wonkette:

Oh, oh yes, do watch this video from Claire McCaskill’s town hall yesterday. Old serial killer-ish guy just gets up from the bleachers, STEALS the black lady’s poster of Rosa Parks that she’d been showing a reporter, rips and crumples it up, cops chase ‘em all out, and everyone boos the black lady. Raw Democracy!

“serial killer-ish”!

I tells ya, the Left is far more entertaining now that they’re in power and on the defensive than they ever were during the Bush years.

HornetSting on August 13, 2009 at 1:37 PM

Rosa Parks and health care? Oh so the real reason she refused to go to the back of the bus wasn’t standing up to racial injustice and hate, but that riding in the back of the bus was bumpier and harder on her joints, thus making it more likely that her insurance premiums would rise in out years. Got it.

Guess you didn’t know that MLK was also a health care pioneer, from the Dream speech:

“And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands while walking to their government mandated doctors, singing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, “Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!”"

And you thought they were just exploiting civil rights figures, that would be insensitive and racist.

A person called in to either Boortz or Rush yesterday and explained this event. It was a reaction to the no signs allows rule.

The caller stated that everyone was instructed to remove their signs in order to go in, but this person was allowed to just roll theirs up. After being told numerous times to stop displaying it, somebody got mad and tore it up.

MikeInBA on August 13, 2009 at 1:53 PM

daesleeper on August 13, 2009 at 1:54 PM

McCaskill may be a lot of things, but “stupid” is not one of them. She knows if she follows the socialist line too hard, she will never get reelected in MO.

We’ve got a lot of old-school Truman- and Skelton-style Democrats in this state, not a lot of hard-core libs outside the central StLouis and Kansas City areas. In 2004, she lost the Governor’s race in a down-to-the-wire squeaker (I still recall that look on her face when she conceeded to Matt Blunt), and barely got the Senate seat from Jim Talent, mainly on the backs of inner-city votes in Stl & KC, as well as the tide of the 06 Dem wins.

So she knows better than to push this too hard, and that’s why she’s acting “reasonable” about the whole thing.

JamesLee on August 13, 2009 at 1:54 PM

Honestly, bringing a sign of Rosa Parks to a health care town hall to suggest the two are in any way related is offensive.
