Another disgrace: In Nigeria, Hillary hints that 2000 U.S. election was rigged

posted at 8:30 pm on August 12, 2009 by Karl

As Allahpundit would say, she’s a special lady:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton compared Nigeria’s corruption and electoral problems with the 2000 Florida presidential election recount during a town hall meeting today in Abuja, Nigeria.

Answering a question about Nigeria’s recent election, Clinton said, “In 2000, our presidential election came down to one state where the brother of the man running for President was the governor of the state. So we have our problems too.”

That is a tasty combo of the Obama administration’s “America sucks” foreign policy, coated in some rich, gooey Bush Deragement Syndrome. Sure, the “media recounts” of the 2000 election showed that the recounts requested by Al Gore or ordered by the Florida Supreme Court would have still resulted in a victory for George W. Bush. Why would that stop our country’s chief diplomat from suggesting that her predecessors in government were there illegitimately? Certainly not Pres. Obama’s faux insistence that we let go of the politics of the past.

The sad thing is that this story will be heard by few Americans, and will register with even fewer. The silver lining? If the US Secretary of State can bestride the globe this drenched in BDS — almost nine years after the fact — without notice, what are the odds that a few anti-ObamaCare protesters are going to scare anyone today? (hint: Long odds.)

Update (AP): Here’s the clip. Between this and her “I’m the secretary of state” freakout the other day, she’s having a hell of a trip.

So, the contest between the two leading Democrat candidates for President as to who was less competent isn’t yet over. I’m leaning toward him, as the One doesn’t have to contend with the burden of a more qualified spouse but finds a way to espouse PostalCare without needing another date night with his marital foil, who just doesn’t have a meaningful individual persona at this level of competition. This, notwithstanding that Ms Clinton avoided understanding all those who said that by buying into the One’s administration she would be surrendering their machine to his. Race to the bottom.

Megalomania with various secondary personality disorders, such as Dissociative disorder and Disconnection syndromes. We have seen signs of hysteria and expect more frequent episodes in future if no intervention is ordered. We need to get the papers drawn up and contact the right judge to order her forced medical intervention. We need to find one of those old 19 century underfunded state institutions. We need to do Electroshock or Lesion Therapy to the Frontal Cortex. We need to study this with technology brain scans, EEG, MEG, PET and others. What we learn could be used to cure many more who have same brain disease.

I see only two ways for Hillary politically, One is to divorce Bill and Second is to get Bill in UN General position. If she becomes President people will assume, I think unfairly, that Bill is behind her ideas. They will seek to hear what is said in their bedroom at night. If Bill is UN Gen Sec then all is peachy for her. In any case, they will turn the country into a tabloid headline. They will be the Worlds Most Powerful Couple. The third way of course is her failure. I like option three.

guntotinglibertarian on August 13, 2009 at 1:47 AM

Well yeah, it was rigged.

All he had to do was throw out ALL the military ballots, but he even screwed up that simple task.

Hell, the Fl. SC even had a 30+ page decision written up, all ready to go [you didn't think just anybody could generate a brief that size in less than 24 hours...did you?], AND he still couldn’t drag that dead mule over the finish line.

It was all wrapped up with a pretty little bow and algore STILL fu<k’d it up. Shoot…the only thing that keeps him from being a complete loser is that ‘carbon scam’ he’s currently running.

But Hillary? Oh yeah, I always suspected she had that dark core of bile just eating away at her. All that stupid tool algore had to do was dance over the finish line and then it would all fall into her lap, eventually.

And now there she stands, the smartest woman on Planet Earth, still in Bubba’s shadow, playing ‘step and fetch it’ for Dear Leader [a nobody from Chi-town]. Shoot, they’re probably spending a fortune screwing down all the lamps and ashtrays wherever she goes.

Sucks to be you, eh Hillary?

Wolf Blitzer, CNN, was discussing it last night on his show. Since CNN dislikes Hillary and are fearful of a future Hillary run for President in 2012, Wolf was putting some negative jabs in on Clinton.

But it all fits with the Obama meme – the US is as bad or worse than your country and the US should apologize.

albill on August 13, 2009 at 7:33 AM

I see this as more of the same old Obama-backed magical mystery apology tour. Oh, look world! We ARE just ALL the same.
News for you Hillary: I have seen much of the world and we are NOT all the same.
I am not a racist here. I am saying that America is unique for its general goodness in this world and this is a fact.
No. All countries and cultures are NOT the same. Some are better than others. Some better than these. And one shines.

RustBelt on August 13, 2009 at 7:54 AM

The reaction Hillary espouses is reflective of the core hatred those on the Left have for those who are not. Al Gore, the Broken Messiah, failed to win his home state, Tennessee; if he had, Florida’s votes would have been moot.

Gore was immensely popular during his two U.S. Senate terms, but while following Bill Clinton’s coattails he aligned with left-politics that weren’t representative of average Tennesseans. And he wrote that terrible “Earth in the Balance”, a warning precursor to his brewing envirowhackism. (Oh, Tennessee is my home state, and I’m proud to have helped defeat Big Al; those of us in the NRA should be given credit for getting out the vote, campaigning tirelessly and eventually beating this Human Pretense.)

So, when Hillary or any other member of the New Left slips and occasionally lets out ‘secret feelings’, we should immediately highlight that ‘slip’, and point out their core beliefs. Thanks, Karl, for getting this out.

Dear Hillary,

Please take a moment to re-read your President’s inauguration speech. I suggest you pay particular attention to this section:

“On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

“On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics.

“We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things.”

And in other Totalitarian-Friendly news, DEMOCRAT Senator Jim Webb meets with Myanmar leaders…..after the EU toughened sanctions against them!

The juicy bits:

The Shwe meeting would mark the first time a senior U.S. official has meet with Myanmar’s top leader, Webb’s office said in a statement. The Virginia Democrat will be the first U.S. congressman to visit Myanmar in more than 10 years.

European Union governments today stiffened sanctions against Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, after the country’s military rulers extended the house arrest of pro-democracy activist Aung San Suu Kyi.

So, in some interesting ways, US Democrats have out-EU’d even the EU! Let me be clear, for the first time in my adult life, I am ashamed of my country….

That’s the thing with progressive leftists.

They lie to themselves before they get around to lying to anyone else.

In their minds, they never HONESTLY lose an election.

Just look at the last 6 months. They’ve gone from crowing over enough average Americans finally embracing socialism (a lie) to beginning to denounce those same ordinary Americans for ‘not knowing what is in their best interests’(insulting Americans for not being ‘smart’ enough to embrace socialism).

They are constantly going from one of these extremes to the other.

Not even a nice try-your side had absolutely NO problem with Florida’s Attorney General also being Gore’s FL campaign chair. You also had absolutely no problem with the all-Democrat Florida Supreme Court injecting themselves into the recount, totally unsolicited, and then trying to steal the election for their (and your) guy. Of course they got bitch-slapped by SCOTUS, first by a 9-0 decision, followed by a 7-2 ruling.

As for the later 5-4 SCOTUS ruling, that had nothing to do with the merits of the case, only with the remedy. But your side desperately clings to that final ruling, and totally ignores the 7-2 bitchslapping Gore got the very same day.
