Guess who’s number one on the NYT bestseller list again

posted at 10:22 pm on August 12, 2009 by Allahpundit

Confirmed: Last week was no fluke. Thanks again to everyone who bought a copy. So hot have sales been, in fact, that Amazon is momentarily out of stock; the next shipment arrives on Sunday, in case you haven’t ordered yours yet.

One nice perk of the book’s success is seeing the boss back in primetime on FNC. Here she is with Hannity for the third time in as many weeks talking about the epic fail of Democratic demagoguery since the health-care town halls started. I’m actually surprised that Sean didn’t spend more time on her posts last night about the “human props” at The One’s rallies; there’s a little bit on it at the end, but not enough to reflect the fact that she drove that story in the blogosphere today. Incidentally, just as she predicted, the nutroots is now busy trying to work up some phony outrage about her “stalking” a child. Follow my links to her posts and you’ll see that the “stalking” amounts to (a) quoting a Boston Globe article and (b) noting the fact that the kid’s mother is an Obama donor and apparatchik. The White House, incidentally, insists that the girl was chosen totally at random to ask The One a question. You buying it?

Exit question: Given the shamelessness with which the left is now willing to invoke the moral authority of children, why don’t congressional Democrats go the rest of the whole nine yards and just make kids their spokesmen? That way, any conservative who accused any child PR agent of spin would become, ipso facto, a “stalker.” It’s foolproof.

From Obama? Not even a promise of 72 virgins for $10 bucks.

Sure. When the entire audience is Obamabots, a random selection will always hit paydirt.

I saw that story about the WH denial. Total BS. If he was seriously trying to impact the perception of this plan with knowledge instead of “charm” he would never have picked a child as a questioner. This is serious business and he’s treating everyone like their are idiots. Worst president ever.

Pasalubong on August 12, 2009 at 10:34 PM

What gets me about the obama administration is how totally inept they are at public relations. They knew that this event would be would be heavily scrutinized for phony astroturfing. So, either they deliberately chose this young girl in spite of the scrutiny or they were too stupid to vet the choices to avoid the appearance of astroturfing. Either way it’s a big middle finger to the American public.

Congratulations, Michelle!

Given the shamelessness with which the left is now willing to invoke the moral authority of children, why don’t congressional Democrats go the rest of the whole nine yards and just make kids their spokesmen?

For a bunch of people who have no problem supporting a guy who voted multiple times to let babies die in broom closets, it’s bitterly ironic the way they screech about THE CHILDREN!!11!1 To answer your question, I think it’s rather childish for the Speaker of the House to write editorials calling her constituents un-American when she has a solid majority and can’t get legislation passed because of her own party.

I love how these ‘uncultured, uneducated, ileterate, racist, conservative rednecks’ have supported a peice of literature to a degree that forces them to acknowledge the author’s success. It must make them feel verrrrrrry uncomfortable.

My congrats to Michelle! How fitting my first post is about her since I come here frequently now after following her website. I have not bought/read the book yet as I can’t stand to give the closest bookstore (Barnes and Noble) any business. They find a place way in the back for bestsellers like Liberty and Tyranny and Michelle’s book. Anyway, using children or propping a victim in front of the camera is typical of the left. I really get ticked off when someone-on either side of the aisle uses a child to further their cause.

We are so proud of you, Michelle. Your book is awesome. And thank you for standing up for the tea parties from day one. Back then Allah thought it was insignificant and worthless. Ed was much more interested in CPAC than any stories about the tea parties (and threatened to ban me when I tried to get more coverage of the tea parties on HA since I was off his topic). But you stood with us, encouraged us and helped keep the movement growing. Of all the tea party speeches I heard last month, yours was the best. Thank you!

So a logical mind might see this equation: tea party phenomenon + townhall outrage + the raging success of Liberty and Tyranny + the huge success of Culture of Corruption = the pulse of the nation. So when do the powers that be abandon their collective foot-stamping-fingers-in-ears-screaming-la-la-la-la stance and–

Oh, right.

I said logical.

Borders Books in New York, as is their custom when a new bestselling conservative book is released, have immediately stuck the “30% off” stickers on Michelle’s book. They do this every time without fail. They figure they’d rather make a juvenile little statement along the lines of “look at this right wing trash, we can’t even give it away” than make a profit. Ah well, I’ll take advantage of their prissy little tantrum and will advise anyone who lives in New York to do the same. I saw it at Borders Books on Broadway near Wall St yesterday.
