Video: Dingell says town-hall protests remind him of the Klan
posted at 11:36 am on August 11, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Steny Hoyer have called the constituents speaking out against ObamaCare at town halls “un-American,” and that didn’t slow them down. Will calling them “racists” do it? MS-NBC’s Ed Schultz tosses a softball to Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), last seen being flummoxed by his own constituents last week. At the time, Dingell dismissed his critics as “infiltrators.” Today, they’re the equivalent of the Ku Klux Klan (via The Weekly Standard):
What message has the House Democratic leadership sent this week to voters in their district? If you show up to town halls to criticize us, you’re un-American Klan members. Somewhere in here, there’s a killer GOP television spot just itching to run in the summer of 2010.

And who were the klansmen? Democrats. Ask Robert C Byrd.
You want to know what reminds me of the klan?
The SEIU union thugs.

Congressman Dingel-berry:
Your party, the Democratic (in name only) Party is the party of slavery and Jim Crow.
Your party was the party that rounded up Japanese-Americans and threw them into concentration camps (paging Senator Inouye).
LIBERALISM = HYPOCRISY

I can see it. All those SEIU members in their purple hoods.
Rip Ford on August 11, 2009 at 12:06 PM
Is it possible he was referring to the SEIU thugs who beat up a black American in St. Louis? That certainly reminds me of the Klan.
Ordinary American on August 11, 2009 at 12:07 PM
The good news is that 2010 will be the ultimate litmus test for the future of our nation…. either the American people throw out all the bums calling us un-American, nazis, and Klan members…. or America really is in a steep decline. We will know one way or the other in about 15 months.

“Racist” will be dead as a charge after the Democrats are through with it.
They keep assuming 100% of Tea Party attendees are lifelong Republican voters. (Hint: They aren’t)

johnsteele on August 11, 2009 at 12:16 PM
Yesterday I was called un-American by Nancy, today I am being compaired to the KKK.
My husband has spent the last 18 years serving this country with pride, honor and dignity. My children and I have stood by his side through deployments, ORI’s, exercises and everything else. I have given up jobs, friends and any comfort zone I have had to; to support him and his career. I have done this willingly, with as much if not more pride, honor, and dignity and they have the f^cking audacity to call me un-American and compair me to the KKK.
I was pissed before….now the gloves are off.
Vote all of them out in 2010!!!!!!!!!!
PS: My husband will be sewing on Senior Master SGT this month. Congradulations baby, I am so proud of you!!!

I’m willing to bet the dirty Democrats of planting evidence to frame their opponents. The Dean is dirtier than anyone, having sponsored this 3200 ill bill from hell.
Democrat Rep. Scott (who stupidly accosted his constituent, a physician, for “hijacking this Townhall”) had his office vandalized with a swastika to garner public sympathy.
It is reasonable to find that Gifford’s camp planted the “fallen gun” for public sympathy and outcry against those dissatisfied citizens unhappy with HR 3200.
Disgusting Democrat KKK Bogeymen, lobbyists and union thugs! As if Congress wasn’t unpopular enough prior to the POTUS election of 2008. Losers, taking America down with their own failures.
Keep your noses clean when you protest. The Fascists are taking down license plates in parking lots, running the information via Obatomized government intel sources as occurred against Joe Wurzelbacher. Now the socialists have raised the stakes to threaten your families and homes for violent assault in the middle of the night.
This is not what the American majority voted for in 2008.
GIVE US OUR TAX CUTS. Leave our jobs alone; quit penalizing work. Let us produce and conduct our own business without the Green Giant ogre and his mandates and ho-ho-ho czars strangling our prosperity, revising our Constitutional Government into a Marxist “One Voice” dictatorship.
No wonder Obama voters still have their divisive posters in their front yards, mimicking the blood of the lamb at Passover, entreating the destroyers to leave themselves, audacious democrats, alone.
maverick muse on August 11, 2009 at 12:23 PM
He may not be your representative, but you should still tell this man that just because an American doesn’t like the policies of this president and his Congress, doesn’t mean that gives him license to assume we are ALL racists.

Good idea. When these morons at the “town hall” meetings continue disallowing rational discussion and opposition to their socialist plans, the entire audience should start chanting;
TERM LIMITS
TERM LIMITS
TERM LIMITS
Until whatever “representative” there runs out crying.

I resent being called a Klan member. Since 1972, the first time I could vote, I’ve NEVER voted for a Democrat.
Since the Klan was an invention of the Democratic Party, I highly resent being called that.

As if Dingleberry hasn’t inflicted enough misery on his Michigan constituents, now he is telling them that questioning the government will be treated as a hate crime. Isn’t that considered un-American?
alliebobbitt on August 11, 2009 at 12:24 PM
Dingell needs to hook up with the chick from Santa Cruz who said there was still slaves on East Coast.
Dire Straits on August 11, 2009 at 12:25 PM
Seriously, the amping up of the insults is getting kind of funny, actually. What’s next? “You know, those protesters remind me of Ted Bundy. So well-dressed, but really psychopathic.” Or, “You know who those protesters remind me of? Pedophiles. You can see it in the eyes.” Or maybe, “You know who those protesters remind me of? This kid in my neighborhood who used to torture kittens. Yeah, they’re like a grown-up version of that kitten-torturer kid.”

Christ, I remember predicting a year ago that if Obama won the presidency, the entire Democrat line of argument for the next four years would be to scream “Racist!” at the first sign of opposition. Could they be any more drearily, tragically predictable?

Hmmmm – Let’s see – So we’re nazis, un-American, minions of the RNC, members of the KKK, mobs disrupting democracy, etc.
My, but aren’t we a bunch of well dressed goose stepping dandies marching off to the nearest KKK rally. Unlike the principled and displined SEIU members that troll parking lots looking for unprotected concervatives to knock off.
Sure glad the “Great Uniter” in in the White House keeping track of all these hooligans. I’m waiting breathlessly for The One to give yet another primetime speech and calm the roubled waters.

The “uber-message” here should be clear: These people (Dems and Repubs) don’t want to serve the public, they intend to rule.

Race is kind of like the old “Rorschach Inkblot Test.” Liberals see race in everything because it takes up so much room in their heads. THEY are the real “racists.”
Star20 on August 11, 2009 at 12:38 PM
So let’s review ……
To the Dems, Americans with an opposing point of view are un-American, Nazi Klansman.
To the Dems, American soldiers are baby-killing torturers who return home and start riots.
Them’s fightin’ words my friends.

They need an enemy to run against. They can’t find one powerful enough in Washington, so they are looking elsewhere. It appears that they’ve found one.
