Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Steny Hoyer have called the constituents speaking out against ObamaCare at town halls “un-American,” and that didn’t slow them down. Will calling them “racists” do it? MS-NBC’s Ed Schultz tosses a softball to Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), last seen being flummoxed by his own constituents last week. At the time, Dingell dismissed his critics as “infiltrators.” Today, they’re the equivalent of the Ku Klux Klan (via The Weekly Standard):
What message has the House Democratic leadership sent this week to voters in their district? If you show up to town halls to criticize us, you’re un-American Klan members. Somewhere in here, there’s a killer GOP television spot just itching to run in the summer of 2010.

Dingell didn’t want to have a town hall, he doesn’t care what his constituents wanted. That was a royal appearance to lecture his subjects on why the government needs to seize healthcare.
On a related note, Senator Ben Cardin had a town hall last night. Armed MD state troopers where patrolling the aisles. Nothing says democracy like having armed rovers to quell any dissent.

Well, since Dingell was around when “Birth of a Nation” was a first run movie, he should know all about the Klan. The Detroit FP story about his “town hall” stated that he was first elected in 1955 – after 54 yrs in office, if he hasn’t a clue BY NOW, I think the odds are pretty long on him ever getting one!

I doubt it, the only MSNBC I have ever seen are clips on the internet, and I stopped watching FoxNews two years ago when I got rid of cable. I have to wonder though, MSNBC seems worse now than they were when Bush was in office.

If there isn’t, the Republican party needs to dissolve. Simply show clips of average Americans using their freedom to assemble mixed with clips of Democrats demonizing them. It’s so simple and effective, which is why they might not capitalize on it. I certainly hope they do, though.
