If a "public option" that competes with private health insurance companies is a good thing, why isn't private schools competing for students with public schools a good thing as well? Just thinkin'... ......

Good analogies are powerful weapons when used by skilled lawyers. A good analogy cannot be turned on the attorney by his opponent. Obama does not seem to have learned that at Harvard Law School or as a community organizer.

Video 0:56 "I mean, it's the post office that's always having problems..."

Oh boy. Just what we need: a new bureaucracy* that will always have problems. (And bankrupt the nation.)

Obama used that as an example?!! That in itself should convince the American public to avoid Obamacare.

(*Dang. How do you spell buracracy?)

Obama is being exposed as a living embodiment of two concepts: 1) The peter Principle and 2) “Those who DO, those who cant TEACH.

As Newt famously noted during the campaign - he has never done anything in his life but talk and write. He is actually in his very first “real” job with actual accountability and he is in way way over his head.

His Presidency will serve to be one big “teachable moment”

Those who can...do; those who can't do...teach; those who can't do or teach...administrate; and he who can't do, teach nor administrate is called BHO.

Washington, DC -- July 24, 2009

Congress today announced that the office of President of the United States of America will be outsourced to India as of September 1, 2009. The move is being made in order to save the President's $500,000 yearly salary and also a record $750 billion in deficit expenditures and related overhead that his office has incurred during the last 3 months. It is anticipated that $7 trillion can be saved to the end of the President's term. "We believe this is a wise financial move. The cost savings are huge," stated Congressman Thomas Reynolds (R-WA). "We cannot remain competitive on the world stage with the current level of cash outlay," Reynolds noted.

Mr. Obama was informed by email this morning of his termination. Preparations for the job move have been underway for some time. Gurvinder
Singh, a tele-technician for Indus Teleservices, Mumbai, India will assume the office of President as of September 1, 2009. Mr. Singh was born in the United States while his Indian parents were vacationing at Niagara Falls, NY. Thus making him eligible for the position. He will receive a salary of $320 (USD) a month, but no health coverage or other benefits. It is believed that Mr. Singh will be able to handle his job responsibilities without a support staff. Due to the time difference between the US And India, he will be working primarily at night. "Working nights will allow me to keep my day job at the Dell Computer call center," stated Mr. Singh in an exclusive interview. I am excited about this position. I always hoped I would be President.

A Congressional spokesperson noted that while Mr. Singh may not be fully aware of all the issues involved in the office of President. This should not be a problem as President Obama had never been familiar with the issues either. Mr. Singh will rely upon a script tree that will enable him to respond effectively to most topics of concern. Using these canned responses, he can address common concerns without having to understand the underlying issue at all. "We know these scripting tools work," stated the spokesperson. "President Obama has used them successfully for years, with the result that some people actually thought he knew what he was talking about."

Obama will receive health coverage, expenses, and salary until his final day of employment. Following a two-week waiting period, he will be eligible for $140 a week unemployment for 26 weeks. Unfortunately he will not be eligible for Medicaid, as his unemployment benefits will exceed the allowed limit. Mr. Obama has been provided with the outplacement services of Manpower, Inc. to help him write a resume and prepare for his upcoming job transition. According to Manpower, Mr. Obama may have difficulties in securing a new position due to a lack of any successful work experience during his lifetime. A greeter position at Wal-Mart was suggested due to Obama's extensive experience at shaking hands, as well as his special smile.

We are compred to the KKK by Congressman Dingus, oops , I mean Dingell. We are called a "mob" by the DNC. A guy on PMSNBC said that socialist is the new n-word. Baron Hill calls us "Political Terrorist" Who do these people think they are? Well I can answer that in one word.Cowards.

The orginal story can be found at the following link.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/12/analysis-press-largely-ignored-incendiary-rhetoric-bush-protest/

Imagine the following:

When Obama visited Portland, Ore., for a fundraiser, protesters stalked his motorcade, assailed his limousine and stoned a car containing his advisers. Chanting "Obama is a terrorist!", the demonstrators bullied passers-by, including gay softball players and a wheelchair-bound grandfather with multiple sclerosis.
"Obama: WANTED, DEAD OR ALIVE," read the placard, which had an X over the word "ALIVE."
A third sign urged motorists to "HONK IF YOU HATE Obama.
Frank Dulcich, president and CEO of Pacific Seafood Group, had a cup of liquid thrown into his face, and then was surrounded by a group of menacing protesters, including several who wore masks. Donald Tykeson, 75, who had multiple sclerosis and was confined to a wheelchair, was blocked by a thug who threatened him.
Protesters slashed the tires of several state patrol cruisers and leapt onto an occupied police car, slamming the hood and blocking the windshield with placards. A female police officer was knocked to the street by advancing protesters, badly injuring her wrist.
The angry protest grew so violent that the Secret Service was forced to take the highly unusual step of using a backup route for Obamas motorcade because the primary route had been compromised by protesters, one of whom pounded his fist on the president's moving limousine.

This was done to George Bush.

He says the gov'ment option will compete just like the private insurance companies do-why not then keep only free market options? The gov'ment option is redundent, especially since he admits the USPS is "having problems".

Chances are good that many Democrats are going to vote in favor of any healthcare legislation that is contrived this fall. Chances are also good that many will get voted out of office next year and may be influenced to vote for this legislation as a last gasp martyr attempt to pass the legislation for the sake of Obama’s presidency.

There’s a good chance that any congressman voted out of office may be preemptively agreeing to a sweet deal (a la Tom “Driving Miss Daisy” Daschle) at a lobbying firm or government entity involved in the oversight of any healthcare administration bureaucracy that is created as a result.

I encourage an amendment to make it illegal for any former congressman to be employed by any healthcare, pharmaceutical, energy, education or any other lobby or government entity that may be involved in any way with this legislation. Consider it “closing the back door” and preventing former lawmakers from profiting from legislation they helped pass and then paid the price for at the ballot box.

I posted this in another thread but it is apt here.

Where in the sam hill is the GOP in this battle? Missing in action except for a limited few. The sarc/”leadership” seems to have decided to leave the health care battle to the people. Less chance of choosing a losing position which they might have to defend in the next election cycle.

I stand by my belief in the impending collapse of our once great country. Waiting for the tipping point.

Can we elect honest people to forestall the collapse? IMO politicians all succumb to the power and feeling of superiority over the filty masses. The ones who do not are forced out by both parties. They may postpone a collapse but not be able to stop it.

My original question remains. Where is the leadership?
