Video: The mother of all ObamaCare lies

posted at 8:45 pm on August 10, 2009 by Allahpundit

Via Breitbart. Naked Emperor News is calling this “Obama’s Mother of All Political Lies,” but that’s overselling it. The true mother of all Obama lies is his pledge not to raise taxes on the middle class. In fact, this isn’t even the biggest lie he’s told about ObamaCare; that would be his promise to somehow make the program deficit-neutral. What this may be is the biggest lie he’s told about “changing the culture in Washington,” a key element of the Hopenchange mythos that’s rapidly disintegrated as he’s made waiver after waiver for the lobbyists he claimed would never work for his administration and ignored the five-day waiting period for public debate he swore would precede his signature on bills passed by Congress. Those sins were venial compared to the bargain he struck with pharmaceutical companies, though: In return for the feds agreeing not to try to negotiate lower drug prices once ObamaCare is in effect, pharma’s going to go all out to the tune of $150 million in advertising to get the bill passed and hand The One the political victory he’s desperate for. Won’t that mean much higher costs for the program than it might otherwise have had? Sure, but so what? The point here is getting Obama reelected, not designing the most efficient possible health-care program. And after all, it’s your money, not his. Even lefties like Robert Reich can’t believe it’s come to this.

On Hannity tonight, Dick Morris stated that he fully believes that the left will use the nuclear option to push thru healthscare.

Later, Bob Heckle stated he knows that the people who are attending the townhell meetings are organized, because he began organizing the left beginning in 1985 to attend townhell meetings.

Now, call me crazy, but if the left goes “nuclear” on this issue, and uses muscle at townhall meetings, do they honestly think we will let this pass? Do they think they will not raise tension in this nation that has not been seen since the Civil War?

I emphasize “civil war” – I’m not the only one.

Guess I’ll have to bail out the President by sending him another letter.

Dear Barack,
It’s real simple, man. You buy healthcare, what do you get? You get a policy that spells out everything it covers and how much it pays on each thing. You get a bill telling you how much you’re gonna pay each month for the policy. All you have to do is get up there on C-SPAN, show us what’s covered and tell us how much we have to pay each month. Then, WE’LL decide whether or not to buy from you.

Don’t buy he lies!

If an insurance salesman knocked on your door and told you to give up all your life, auto, homeowners, and liability insurance and buy his combo policy and you caught him kicking your dog would you buy from him?
Absolutely not!

HealthCare is much bigger than that and he has kicked America in the shins since the very day he was inogurated, even stooping so low as to pick on a cop doin his job!

NO SALE PINNOCHIO not now, not ever! RESIGN or be IMPEACHED!

Most of us are libertarian even if we’re registered R or I. It’s the party that is wacky, not the individuals.

I wonder if they say the same thing about Republicans? Given Grahmnesty, McCain, Snowe, Collins, and others…

dorian,
whoops, didn’t think of that.
well, I’m heavily armed and live in Texas, so I guess I’ll say something like, “Your move, Barack!”.
Texans don’t usually start the fight but we usually finish it. What really scares me about these people is that they are completely convinced they are 100% right. This, in their mind, gives them complete freedom of action to attack their opponents by any means necessary. This probably means they’ll ignore the mounting objections and their falling poll numbers and push this as hard as they can. I suspect this will get very ugly before it’s over. So hunker down and keep your powder dry…you may need it.

And I’ll be keeping my beer making skills sharp and my beer wet… ;)

Where did then-candidate Obama get the idea that POTUS has anything to do with C-SPAN? It covers the House (C-SPAN2 covers the Senate).

What arrogance.

I dislike the previously borderline moonbatty term ‘Big Pharma’… But given their support of this thing, it sorta fits.

These drug manufacturers ought to have more sense to get in bed with 0bama. As soon as he gets his marxist healthcare scheme passed, these enablers will be the second group to ‘go under the bus’. (The first group will, of course, be the entire group of ‘normal citizens’). Then the drug companies… Then the actual healthcare providers; Doctors, Nurses, etc.

0bama is taking you guys for a ride, and if you believe his promises, you deserve to have your ‘seed money’ stolen, and then to be run over the Hopenchange bus.

LegendHasIt on August 11, 2009 at 7:58 AM

So in exchange for a one-time payment of $150 million, the drug companies get the right to screw over the government (and thus, American taxpayers) and charge basically whatever they want for drugs — generating billions in profits for the drug companies? That Obama is some negotiator. No wonder he was never a successful lawyer. The man’s an idiot.
