This is the worst of all possible choices, in that it is no choice at all. There will be no free-market solutions, no competition, no reason to offer better products at lower prices, if there is only one entity (the federal government) paying medical providers.

However, if Congress is going to muck it up, just leave the system alone. I’m convinced it will hit bottom eventually.

Congress is in the process of trying to muck it up. We already have the best medical care in the world; none of the changes being considered by the multiple plans under consideration by the congress will in any way address the need of the current system to have costs reduced, and care improved.

These changes will only come from:
1. Tort reform
2. Allowing insurance companies to offer plans across state lines
3. Allowing “retail purchase” of health insurance.
4. Separately purchasable catastropic care insurance.

None of these things are being considered.

It doesn’t work now. That’s reality.

It does work now. This blog is full of people who:
A. Are happy with their current insurance
B. Have had numerous positive insurance experiences

Saying “it doesn’t work now,” without offering a shred of proof, doesn’t make it so.

Ann, once again; you need to do the reading on this, and you have been pointed to many sources of good information. You have refused to educate yourself on this issue, and continue to post words without thought.

And, you still need to deal with your unspeakably vile comments on the Reagan thread.

I like Doc’s stuff. My only problem with it is that I can’t focus when reading big blocks of text. So I have a problem with AP and Ed’s stuff too sometimes. But that’s my problem, and Zero’s stuff is still really enjoyable.

Actually, under the new Meghan McCain Metric for measuring popularity, I don’t exist at all, because I don’t use Twitter, and therefore have no Twitter followers. Your eyes are blurry because you’ve been staring at a blank page and imagining you just read something. Here, try reading this:

OMG I cant believe ppl pay $$ to read malkin books when u can read hip cute young me fer FREE! ROFLMAO!

That should clear up your blurry vision, along with any complex thoughts you might have been having.

Hell, I don’t think I’d trust them in the rest room floor sweeping industry. They’re ALL useless. BOTH sides of the isle. If they really wanted things fixed they’d lift these tedious restrictions off the medical and insurance industries and go do something productive like tort reform.

Remember the Senate dining room fiasco? Can’t even run a restaurant. Or better yet, liked the idea of a restaurant, but can’t be bothered to actually run it after legislating it into existence. Same old same old. Legislate to get elected and try to ignore the outcomes.

The internet is making this a reality and I think corruptocrats on both sides of the aisle are finally concerned about their cushy fiefdoms.

In a world where every stupid thing out of your mouth is on the internet within seconds, there is little room to dodge the subsequent incoming rounds.

We are finally seeing the demise of broadcast and print media. I can come to this site and then go to DU or some such cauldron to get an opposing view. And make up my own mind.

The battle has just begun, but I believe we are on the cusp of REAL change. Keep fighting and continue to PUT THE INFORMATION OUT FOR THE WORLD TO SEE.

I disagree with Ms. Pelosi completely. However, she is really doing nothing more than representing those who elected her to the house. If the other tools in congress would simply do exactly the same thing (represent their constituency), none of these socialist agenda items would see he light of day.
