Via the indefatigable Jim Hoft, who’s back from the rally with photos galore. When last we saw Gladney, he said he was in some pain but otherwise appeared in reasonably good shape; now he’s in a wheelchair and so heavily medicated that he can’t speak. What exactly did those goons do to him? Good lord. Like Jim Treacher said, if Gladney was an Obama supporter, right now he’d be more famous than Rodney King.

Good news, though: Some of the more gutless Democrats in the House have decided to make their town halls “stealth” affairs, which, while depriving constituents of a chance to protest, will at least ensure that SEIU doesn’t send anyone else to the hospital. Meanwhile, here’s your photo of the day, catching another minor bit of dissent-crushing in action. Guess whose side the perpetrator’s on.

Good lord. Like Jim Treacher said, if Gladney was an Obama supporter, right now he’d be more famous than Rodney King.

I think an apt comparison would be that victim of right-wing extremism and police brutality, Professor Gates. That case was so egregious that the President of the United States was forced to intervene to bring justice. When I last saw the Professor, he was on crutches, and hobbling down the steps of the WH, accompanied by his manservant.

If the right can cripple a man like Prof. Gates, I hardly think a medicated Mr. Gladney should cause a stir.

Last I saw him was on Fox news. He had a lawyer with him but could answer questions. He was sitting down so we don’t know if he needed help walking. If you’ve gone to any tea parties you find you have to stand for hours, so maybe he wasn’t up for that. And I took his refusal to speak more that he wasn’t up to giving a speech rather than he couldn’t talk. Many of the tea party protesters don’t want to give a speech at these rallies. Maybe the clip says otherwise, but the link isn’t working on my computer.

Wrong Allah. This tactic denies constituents of their ability to voice opposition to their elected representative in person. That’s a little bit more than “protesting” and it is an affront on our system of government.

Here in the People’s Republic of Maine, all four of our Congress Critters have decided NOT to hold any meetings during the recess. That’s the two Republican Senators, and the two Democrat Representatives.

In my lifetime, I have NEVER seen that sort of thing. These elected officials are running scared, and rightly so. I’m hoping we can give the boot to all of them as soon as possible.

Thing is, there’s some rumours floating around that if they don’t want to come out and hold meetings, that groups will hold their OWN meetings outside of their offices.

I sent an email to the SEIU local here and asked them that since the Democratic congress members are going stealth, using “telephone town halls” and the like, which will reduce opportunities for their thugs to intimidate people, will the SEIU start sending out union thugs to harass individuals who oppose the President’s health plan.

BTW, those of you who like cops should know that the Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies are organized by SEIU. The county cops helping to keep order at Rep. Dingell’s town hall were on SEIU’s side.

Great idea! How about getting their challengers for the upcoming elections to give speeches and take questions… you know, like having a town hall rather than a closet quorum on the sidewalk outside their office?

Further, it might be of some benefit to offer to interview them for your blog or organization. Or invite them to speak at your organization… you know, the Kiwanas or American Legion or something. If they’ll speak to the SEIU but won’t speak to other organizations, I would do my best to get that news into the local paper via letters to the editor or finding like-minded reporters (smaller press, I understand).

Time is on our side in this recess. They knew that. That’s why it was so critical that they ‘get it done before they leave.’

It’s time to get creative, folks. Time to quit thinking in terms of how the system just worked on its own and start thinking about how our Founding Fathers figured out how freedom should work.

I still believe they have underestimated the WILL of the American people. (If you haven’t seen that vid by the teen for the Tea Party, it’s worth looking up on YouTube.) I think WE are the ones THEY weren’t counting on.

The Last cop thing didn’t work so well for the Liberals. I think it is part of their plan. Probably with the intent on ushering The Won’s National Civilian Security Force or whatever he calls it.

Local police are under the command of locals and state police are under the command of the state government. Obama wants to usurp that and make local and state law enforcement in his command…

Local and State Police would be a big hinderance to his Bowel Movement. The communicate fairly regularly to one another, got access to databases, in a pinch be the cadre for militias and can hinder his goons.

Of course, SEIU already has its hands in Law Enforcement and could just want to increase its membership and Gatesgate was Obama putting pressure on Cops so they’d join SEIU.

Regarding the photo of the day and the woman who was arrested in the St Louis fracas, I’ve noticed over the past few decades how women – especially Leftist women – have become increasingly emboldened to provoke conflicts where men would not.

I’ve always thought this was because they rely upon traditional mores which prohibit men from committing agression against women.

I’ve certainly had women in public spaces act or express themselves in ways that a man wouldn’t because a man knew such behavior would be likely to provoke retaliation on my part.

I just happened to notice while at the SEIU local site that they represent Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies and while watching video from Dingell’s town hall, I saw that there were county cops there.

So tell me, who do you think those county cops will side with if there’s a scuffle between regular Americans and SEIU goons?

My guess is they will do what they are trained to do: separate the contending parties, interview witnesses and then make a judgement as to who the aggressor was. Sometimes that requires taking both parties into custody if the witnesses are unclear or seem to be prejudiced.

Local police are under the command of locals and state police are under the command of the state government. Obama wants to usurp that and make local and state law enforcement in his command…

Local and State Police would be a big hinderance to his Bowel Movement. The communicate fairly regularly to one another, got access to databases, in a pinch be the cadre for militias and can hinder his goons.

You dream. Local and state police will eagerly enforce whatever the paymasters in Washington say.

I was just watching yesterday about a brawl somewhere, where the town’s mayor was present and trying to reach 911, but got a busy signal. When the mayor went to the press about it, the police chief verbally attacked the mayor, complaining how they don’t have enough budget to staff adequately. Just what we want in America, public employees telling off constituent’s elected representatives.

Remember, whenever budgets need to be cut, cops and cop unions are the first to use scare tactics how if they don’t hire more cops and buy more expensive cop equipment, your house will be burgled and your daughter raped.

Sorry, but they’re just particularly annoying and surly DMV workers with guns and badges.
