Video: The two faces of Obama

posted at 7:59 pm on August 7, 2009 by Allahpundit

Alternate headline: “Nuance, the video.” Greg Hengler of Townhall stitched this together from the same speech this morning in which The One informed conservatives that talky time is over. As infuriating as that was, you’ll find it twice as infuriating in context. This clip really is exactly as advertised, showcasing both the myth of Obama that the media’s happily carried forth and the reality of what kind of politician he is when his agenda’s threatened. Amazing that with his approval rating slipping and anger getting hotter every day, he’d still feel confident enough to contradict himself this blatantly in the same speech. It’s practically a taunt.

I’m sorry. Looks like a revival based on a cult of personality.

Testimony.

So much hypocrisy I can’t begin.

Two faces and only 1/4 of a brain?

How is that even possible?

Corrupt and incompetent arrogant worthless jackass as president. How in hell did it come to this?

Amazing that with his approval rating slipping and anger getting hotter every day, he’d still feel confident enough to contradict himself this blatantly in the same speech. It’s practically a taunt.

His arrogance and narcissism is at exponential levels, in a range that most of us can’t begin to comprehend.

INC on August 7, 2009 at 8:06 PM

Well, bho did tell the American citizens what he wanted to do, and many still voted for him. I hope those who voted for him get theirs! We, who did not vote for him are trying to un-do your stupid vote in a man that thinks he is above us ‘mob’ citizens.

Obama’s never been in a position of power where he’s been challenged before, and he’s had 18-plus months of having the media totally in his pocket, since they started going after Hillary in the fall of ’07. So he has no idea how to react to criticism, other than to try and sic his special interest group supporters on his opponents (the irony here being that while Obama’s got no qualms about having those groups go after Republicans, he’s a el wimpo grande when it comes to challenging his own more rabid supporters and thereby gets rolled by every special interest group on the Democrats’ side).

I am stunned and appalled at this man’s skill at hypocrisy. Most people stammer and putter out when they realize what fools they sound like. He doesn’t just have a bubble to protect him from hearing external disagreement, he also has a bubble protecting him from hearing himself.

His voice grates on my nerves. Neil Young’s voice does the same thing. I know Barack Obama is practically a trained thespian, but even when he goes into his solemn and professorial mode, dropping his voice a register, he is so GD corny! His y’all and Oprah speak just infuriates me. He is never deep, but always casual. It really bothers me, because I don’t see the President as Mr. Rogers in his tennis shoes and cardigan. Everything Obama does strikes me as fake and annoys the ever-living f*** out of me.

alliebobbitt on August 7, 2009 at 8:25 PM

tims472 on August 7, 2009 at 8:20 PM

No, that would surely be raaaaaacist. The Penguin was a white guy, but penguins are partially black, so that’s racist. Catwoman was a female who wore a black catsuit, so that would be both racist and homophobic (or transgender-phobic, or something). The Riddler was white, but he had a lot of stupid dialog, so that would undoubtedly be a racist comment about inner-city, public-school educated blacks, or something . . . .

AZCoyote on August 7, 2009 at 8:27 PM

Mr. Rogers was a really nice person, too, and I feel bad for comparing him to Obama. I think Carter deliberately invoked him; this is their whole “community organizer” schtick. NLP and Teletubby cooing. It works on Dems, because they were all latchkey kids.
