Video: Protester beaten by union goons at town hall speaks; Update: SEIU releases attack ad against “teabaggers”
posted at 5:55 pm on August 7, 2009 by Allahpundit
Sounds like the beating was worse than we thought, but that’s what he gets for being a “political terrorist.” His lawyer’s promising a civil suit against the goons and possibly SEIU itself if he can prove that they were intimidating people and “starting trouble” at the union’s behest. Here’s a little something for the jury from one of their directors down in Tampa last night:
Asked earlier today about possible disruption at the event, Kim Diehl of SEIU said, “We’re prepared. We have strategies to deal with it if it should come up.”
Indeed they do. Be sure to read the boss’s post about some of the pleasantries that were exchanged this afternoon on Sebelius’s conference call with SEIU. Hint: It involves a cabinet officer of the United States government sitting silently by while a union capo accuses protesters of “terrorist tactics.”
Update: An Orwellian treat from The One’s union muscle, fretting about the rowdiness of the “teabaggers” they had no choice but to stomp on in St. Louis last night. Someone needs to remix this with the footage of Gladney getting hassled and the cops showing up to arrest a goon in a purple shirt.

This is interesting. The SEIU and Blago and Obama:

Unfortunately, tactics like those of Obama’s Purpleshirts have been successful many times in human history, including very recently in Venezuela.

Sad, in the 1960’s union members came out to beat some hippy heads in – what happened to those kind of union guys – white, middleclass and patriotic.

Wow … this clown is pleading with Obama, supposedly the President of all American citizens to war with over half the country.
darwin on August 7, 2009 at 6:39 PM
Do not imagine for a moment, Mr. Allahpundit, that leadership is a pleasure. On the contrary, it is a deep and heavy responsibility. No one believes more firmly than President Barack Obama and all those in his administration that America’s citizens should be free to assemble and speak out about what they think is best for themselves and what is best for America. He would be only too happy to let them assemble and speak out without being stomped on, but sometimes America’s citizens might be racists, Nazis, political terrorists or malcontent Teabaggers who are either not dressed well enough or are too well dressed, Mr. Allahpundit, and then where would we be?

These people are fomenting civil war. Soon, I’m certain someone will get shot by these goons, and then it’ll be on. This is what happens when uninformed and disinterested people sit idle and don’t vote. Wake up, folks, things are gonna get hot.

Blueneck:
You are a silly obnoxious little person. Last time I looked this was still the United States and those people have the right to express their opinions, whether a bunch of little fascists like you think so or not.
Barack Obama is turning out to be the most divisive, expensive, dishonest and just plain scary president I have ever seen.
So much for post partisan and post racial. Thug in Chief is exactly what he is.

The SEIU can’t like the attention it’s getting. They were supposed to work behind the scenes (Mob-like) to get healthcare passed, so that all government healthcare providers (formerly known as doctors) would pay SEIU union dues, which would help fund future Democratic candidates for the foreseeable future. Thus the so-called permanent Democratic majority.
This has never been about healthcare. The SEIU connection makes it clear.
I don’t think Andy Stern is a happy camper right now.

“Teabaggers” indeed. You do know what the term means, do you not? And just who the bloody hell do you think the President is that he can “allow” people to speak without being stomped on, as you suggest? No, Cheshire, we have the right to disagree with this or any administration (sounds familiar? it should…) and we have the right to do so without fear of threats or intimidation, and NO President, member of Congress, media sycophant, or union thug has the right to take that away, or the right to stop by threats or force. Too many people have died giving us the right to free speech, and I’ll never, ever, stand down while these thugs threaten my country. Perhaps you haven’t heard, but the President has told us all to just shut up and get out of the way. I’ll never do that. I may disagree with you, but I’ll defend to the death your right to disagree and speak out. Too bad liberals don’t believe that anymore.

KCtheKat on August 7, 2009 at 6:57 PM
I have heard (although I don’t have a citation for this) that the house bill now being considered includes a provision allowing existing plans to stay in place, unless they are “decertified” by some sort of review board.
If true, you can bet large sums that unions, especially the SEIU, will never have to fear decertification.
Hence, exemption, without explicitly stating it.
HA posters, am I correct in this?

The ‘arrest of the goon in the purple shirt’ is a fake! That Nazi guy incited this staged incident by trying to give out unofficial flags not approved by President Obama and His Congress, so honest law-abiding unionized Americans defended against terrorism by the vast right-wing conspiracy. I think that was true in Venezuela as well but Chavez’s thug tactics were still successful there. It was covered by Venezuelan news but it didn’t sway opinion enough to overcome the accomplishments of the thuggery, and then the thugs demonized and shut down unfriendly media outlets. They even employed these thug tactics at polling places during elections and against opposition candidates and their supporters.
My point is that although the same formula might not work for Obama, it seems that he’s inclined to try some variation of Chavez’s tactics here, and if he carries it through, we may not be able to count on ’10 and ’12.
An increasing body of evidence is suggests that this may come to pass. Support for Ahmadinejad’s and Zelaya’s coup’s, dismissing charges against the New Black Panthers intimidating voters, Obama’s Purpleshirt thugs bashing his political opponents, to name a few. If they try to implement some variation of the fairness doctrine to squelch opposition voices, our tactics will need to be more effective than those of Chavez’s opposition in Venezuela.

This is going to escalate fast, Obama has called out the thugs that got him elected, this is a down right shame. A citizen can no longer speak his mind in America. Our President is asking you to turn in your neighbor, and calling for your personal intimidation if you speak your mind. He has let people off the hook that stood at the polls with weapons and threatened the voters.
History is repeating itself, and it is truly sad. Some welcome it, but we are America, we’re a little different, we are the mavericks of the world, freedom loving people across the globe recognize that. Our Constitution has made us what we are, we are envied for it. Some try to emulate us, so why should we allow some twisted fucks to set it all aside?
This will backfire on Obama, his people will be looked at with disdain, he can’t escape it, he ordered it in public. Every time an average citizen is beat down by the SEIU, ACORN, or any other “Community Organization”, it will become even more clear that this President is nothing more than a thug.
To say that this will escalate is an easy jump. Citizens are beat down by community organizers, citizens bring back up, then it grows, and grows. As a first, we have a President that will throw gasoline on the fire, rather than seeking a calm. I don’t think he understands us, he has pushed too far, he, and the Congress have way over-reached.
As an American, I’m willing to take an ass beating, and am willing to bring it back ten fold, game on!
