Video: Democratic congresswoman holds “prayer vigil” on health care
posted at 7:13 pm on August 7, 2009 by Allahpundit
Remind me, which prayer is it that involves ranting about the stimulus bill and demanding single-payer health care? Was that the one Jesus taught the crowd when he gave his sermon on insurance premiums? This sure sounds like a town hall dressed up as a “vigil” in order to discourage protesters from challenging Sanchez — note the conspicuous restrictions placed on the crowd at around 1:10 in the interests of “reverence” — but to believe that, you’d have to believe that Democrats would select venues specifically designed to avoid facing angry dissent from their constituents.
And you don’t believe that, do you?

Sorry your over qualified. Any young lady that would take on the childbirth of 3 children and set out to raise them as productive citizens is just way over qualified.

No, she is quite correct to ask for Heavens help…
Because under the current plan, it WILL take an act of God to work…
And it will only cut costs if they can get Jesus to come down and heal the sick, for free…

They must lack something in the IQ department. This is a white women who married a hispanic male to get the Sanchez last name so she could run in a hispanic district. They voted her in so I don’t really have any sympathy for them now.

As a Catholic, I find this “prayer vigil” for health care to be shamelessly sacrilegious. And as an American, I’ll share what a truly great American would say about Obama’s tactics:
To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.

The one thing I’ve learned from all this – is what cretins and bottom-feeders we have serving in Congress. It’s worse than I thought.
I mean – most of these guys and gals are just psychologically “not there”. They live in some child’s world. If the British had seized Congress and resolved to kill all of the Founding Fathers – I can see them marching bravely to their deaths for the ideals they believed in.
But if the same thing happened to this group of idiots – I think I would be ashamed to be an American once the stories of their cowardice got out.
These are the people we elected.

If this is the same Van Tran that ran against her last time, this is more of the same incompetence he showed by sending “did you know Illegals can’t vote?” mailers to everyone in the district with an Hispanic surname. I’ll still vote for him (or anyone who runs against her), but after initially winning in the 90′s based on illegals voting, I don’t hold out a lot of hope.

Bunny Sanchez was my Congresswoman until I moved into Dana Rohrabacher’s reliably Republican district in 2003. She has been most fortunate in her election opponents who have not been very strong since Bob Dornan. What an embarrassment she is. She lost against Dornan the first time when she ran under her married name, Loretta Brixley, and then finally she lost her husband. Before Dornan, a Democrat named Jerry Patterson held the same seat. The district has been redrawn several times, often comically, and it currently includes Little Saigon and areas densely populated by Hispanics.
Still, an elected Democrat in stubbornly red Orange County is usually smart enough to point out her votes in common with her neighboring Republicans instead of drawing attention to their differences. That she is doing this despite a nationwide Democrat meltdown shows what a dumb bunny she is.

I’ve had my fill of this nonsense about ‘catholics’ voting for the obamanation. I try to avoid going into somebody’s house and telling them just who they will and will not have in their family. While I generally avoid apologetics, I’m going to make an exception for two of the yahoos further up the page.
Catholics live by rules.
Here’s one: If you support abortion or tolerate someone else supporting abortion, you’re not Catholic. [notice the period?][I like to call it the self-eject rule]
Here’s another: You go to Mass. [no wimping out allowed]
I am tired of you bozos painting me with the same brush you use to wipe Pelosi, Biden, and Kennedy.
It works like this, just because some loser says they’re catholic doesn’t make it true. Just because some loser says they’re republican doesn’t make it true. Get a grip on reality.

This video pretty much explains why California is as F’d-up as it is. This is the trough where the welfare bottom feederes congregate.
This Loretta Sanchez person represents the other problem with Congress. The abject stupidity of these people. These are the people that don’t read bills, that vote for Stimulus bills because they see dollar signs, that will vote for healthcare so that illegal aliens can get free meds.

I notice that neither the parish nor the diocese has an email contact. I guessed they learned from the Father Pfelger fiasco. The idea that parish priests are sitting on a stage…in a Catholic church of all places….and allowing this farce of a prayer vigil to take place run by a woman who couldn’t be any more pro-abortion unless she actually performed them herself is simply disgusting.
The worst part is that this is somehow justified under social justice. A single payer health care system is not required for social justice. When the Vatican calls for better treatment of the poor, including health care, there is no requirement that all must have the exact same thing. Social justice is not socialism, plain and simple.
Those priests know it and you can be sure the Bishop of Orange county knows it. This has no business in a Catholic Church, not in Central America and not in Orange County.
Rocks on August 8, 2009 at 1:37 AM
Baby killers praying for a health care bill that will not only provide taxpayer funding to kill even more babies but also will provide the “final solution” for millions of old folks too as an additional “bonus”.It is ironic praying for murder-doubly ironic since the politicians pushing for it will never use such rotten coverage themselves. It is really just a scam to get a few million extra Democratic votes from naturalized illegal aliens at the cost of the best health care in the world. A few thousand politicians and their cronies will have excellent health care and 300 million Americans can just “eat cake.”
MaiDee on August 8, 2009 at 1:39 AM
Removed them from what?
Anyone who has, performs or aides an abortion is automatically excommunicated unless and until they repent and confess. Nothing else need be done. They can go to Mass 4 times a day and receive communion and it makes no difference.

Thank you for speaking up on behalf of people who are not your problem and not your church. That was a very noble thing of you to do.
They came first for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak up
because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up

Then they came for me,
and by that time
no one was left to speak up.

This is a link to a letter from Bishop Murphy on behalf of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Including:
Read the entire thing, notice what is being said. Affordable health care, people are expected to pay for their health care. Legal immigrants. Yes there should be help for the poor from those who aren’t poor but nowhere does it suggest that all must have the same thing and they certainly are not mandating a single payer system. The Church wants universal health care, it could care less if it’s a single payer system run by the government.

Loretta Sanchez was originally “elected” via illegal alien votes. After the election, votes were found in quantity enough to elect her that were made by ineligible voters (Mexicans). She was allowed to stay in congress anyway, and obviously has gained a lifelong position.

I know a lot of nuns and people who were born catholics, who attended catholic grade and high schools, and who voted for Obama. I know one person who attends mass daily who voted for obama. I know a lot of people who attend mass every Sunday and on Holidays who voted for Obama. A large percentage of Catholics voted for obama. Deal with it. And don’t give me this crap that they aren’t catholic. No one has or is going to excommunicate them.
More scientific than your bullshit. And I never said they support abortion. I said almost all the catholics I know voted for Obama. You need a lesson in honesty. Deal with it a$$hole.
No, a$$hole, it was yours and others immaturity and snarkiness that only now drew a similar response. And it is your church, not mine. albill on August 8, 2009 at 9:22 AM
There seems to be a ridiculous misunderstanding on this board about excommunication. It is automatic for certain sins. It’s entirely brought on by the sinner. No group of priests stands around with 6 foot long candles and chants in Latin like in the movies. Public announcements of individual excommunication are almost solely reserved for renegade nun, priests and bishops and that is done to insure that the public knows they no longer have any authority to speak for the church.
It is not done for Catholic politicians because everyone knows they do not speak for the church and a public excommunication would only give the impression they did at one time.
Even in this meeting the group of people at the table are various religious. The only Catholic at the table is the Vietnamese Bishop. That is how they got away with this to begin with. It’s supposedly a inter religious forum with Sanchez as the guest speaker.

Here’s where conservatives who are Catholic try to pretend that their church isn’t chock full of leftism starting from the top down.
Too bad… from the “Living Wage” to the moral equivalence with Hamas and Hezbollah to open borders to “Debt Forgiveness” to social programs… etc… the RCC is top-heavy leftist… and you are taught to “submit will and intellect” to both Pope AND bishop in areas of faith and morals on which they clear;y and repeatedly teach (not my rules, but theirs).
Gay marriage and abortion… there endeth the right wing.

mankai on August 8, 2009 at 11:29 AM
Blake, I may need to post my rules for debating Catholics again. You need to be aware that any Catholic who votes lefty (as in almost every single RC I know) is dismissed as “not a mass-attending” RC or as a “cafeteria” RC.
You will also note that actually pointing out RC doctrine or statements from Popes, bishops or councils will quickly be tagged “Catholic bashing” (I know, I haven’t figured that one out yet). “Being called a “bigot” neutralizes any facts put forth.
Most of the rules have to do with arguing certain things one day and then the opposite the next. Example: if you’re not a Catholic, you’re just an idiot and you have no idea what you’re talking about… if you happen to be an educated former Catholic, you have an ax to grind and you are dismissed on that account.
I’ll spare the other “rules” for now… but take heart, I was banned from an on-line religious forum for entering a RC discussion and merely QUOTING relevant Papal and Conciliar declarations. I was turned over to a RC-Protestant group of moderators and determined to be a “basher” and banned.
