Video: Democratic congresswoman holds “prayer vigil” on health care
posted at 7:13 pm on August 7, 2009 by Allahpundit
Remind me, which prayer is it that involves ranting about the stimulus bill and demanding single-payer health care? Was that the one Jesus taught the crowd when he gave his sermon on insurance premiums? This sure sounds like a town hall dressed up as a “vigil” in order to discourage protesters from challenging Sanchez — note the conspicuous restrictions placed on the crowd at around 1:10 in the interests of “reverence” — but to believe that, you’d have to believe that Democrats would select venues specifically designed to avoid facing angry dissent from their constituents.
And you don’t believe that, do you?

lol – she needs a guest appearance by Al “in my faith tradition” Gore.
I think, though, it’s the one where he said Render to Caesar the authority to determine your care. Or maybe she was refering to James when he said, ‘Visit the fatherless and the widow in their affliction before the state decides their quality of life doesn’t entitle them to any more medication’.

I find it reprehensible to invoke God into this, when this is the party that advocates abortions, has a Czar working in the White House, that believes 2 year olds can be aborted because they aren’t socialized yet, and voices an opinion that would force abortions on unconsenting women, and sterilization agents in our water. Not to mention the fact, that any time a Conservative is religious, they’re a nut?
Shame on you. God is watching, and listening, and he knows your true heart.

It’s just like feeding the multitudes with a couple of fish and some bread, but on a grander scale.
“Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the One, and a powerful ally He is. Life creates Him, makes Him grow. His energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the One around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.”

These people type up a letter and put copies on people’s seats and say “You need to sign it and we’ll take it to Senator Feinstein” and that’s just grassroots in action.
My IQ dropped 20 points watching that video. I can’t believe some of these people get to make decisions about my life. If we’re going to have a dictatorship, can’t it at least be a dictatorship of our betters?

mobydutch on August 7, 2009 at 7:36 PM
All she is doing is proving just how arrogant the Democrats truly are. In fact I find it quite offencive that a Democrat congresswoman (who in all likelihood only pays the barest lip service to any form of faith) would use prayer as a cover to try and foil any sort of criticism of herself and her party’s polices. She must really think her constituents are dumb if she thinks she can pull a stunt like this and get away with it.

newton on August 7, 2009 at 7:38 PM
Personally, I’m an agnostic, so the prayer thing doesn’t bother me one way or the other…. but since when are Democrats all hot to hold “prayer vigils”? For a health care bill?
Isn’t that a violation of their precious “seperation of church and state”?
jana on August 7, 2009 at 7:38 PM
Before they pray, they might want to start by confessing some sins.
Actually, Jesus gave a good sermon on health care. You’ve all heard it. It’s the story of the good Samaritan, which is found in Luke.
“A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead with no clothes. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, and he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, he too passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and looked after him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’ “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
Notice in this story, the good Samaritan did go into the town and demand the rich be taxed to pay for this man’s needs! He didn’t tell the innkeeper he ought to do more for the needy! He took the burden on himself and cared for the needs of this man!!
And what did Jesus say at the end??? “Go and do likewise!”
The libs in this story are just like the robbers and all the other people who pass by! That’s the truth here!
Yeah,, I think they need to do some repenting before they start praying!

Loretta Sanchez and alleged voter fraud.
In another case concerning a U.S. House seat in which voter fraud may have influenced the result, California Republican Congressman Bob Dornan was defeated by Democrat Loretta Sanchez in an upset, by the narrow margin of 984 votes in 1996. Dornan charged that Sanchez’s margin came from non-citizens, and an investigation by the House of Representatives found that 547 non-citizens had voted in the election, but not enough to void the election. Some believe that far more non-citizens who were not detected actually voted. John Fund, in his book Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy, says that an INS investigation in 1996 into alleged Motor Voter fraud in California’s 46th District revealed that “4,023 illegal voters possibly cast ballots in the disputed election between Republican Robert Dornan and Democrat Loretta Sanchez.”
There’s tons more about Sanchez and voter fraud on the web. In my opinion, she stole the election.
