Quote of the day

posted at 10:00 pm on August 7, 2009 by Allahpundit

“The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s ‘death panel’ so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their ‘level of productivity in society,’ whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.”

I love Private Citizen Palin!

She’s right. Remember these are the same people who scolded her for having a Down’s baby instead of getting an abortion. I can see pregnant women who chose not to get a government funded abortion be told they will get no support for bringing what they will call a burden on the system into this world.

Childish rhetoric. No excuse. You don’t see Krauthammer calling anything a freaking death panel…this euthanasia foaming at the mouth scaremonger sh*t is ridiculous. None of which is guarenteed. Bill will do what it says it does, and will have unintended consequences the likes of which could be all sorts of things. But what is being voted on is NOT single payer, and an american single payer is NOT british single payer, and ill repeat no one is voting on single payer.

if the british, canadian, french, etc, health systems were eugenicist plots to kill and control then it stands to reason there would be at the very least a lower life expectancy…there is not. At the most, the changes being debated are marginal deck shuffles that involve key health care providers. death panels its not.

Death Panel? This is the first I heard about this. Anyone got a link?

Pelayo on August 7, 2009 at 10:12 PM

Hmmmm…. lets play connect the dots…

Rahm Emanuels Brother is one of Obamas health care advisors. He has advocated “deciding” who gets health care resources based on how “productive” they are to society, so the very young, and very old, will get less health care resources than the “productive” adult.

Add in adding millions of more into health care, with no new doctors.

Add in a single payer system where a “Board” will decide who gets what resources.

Add in this is the ONLY way the Government can lower health care costs (by rationing care)….

Death Boards… the Gov will be deciding what health care the poor, and even middle class, will be getting.

ernesto on August 7, 2009 at 10:18 PM

See I don’t buy that at all. Obama is on the record as saying that he intends to use health care to move to single payer. This bill removes private insurance by attrition and will unquestionable lead to single payer – and that means without variance a decrease in quality and availability of care.

You may not like the terminology, but it doesn’t have to be labeled eugenics to be true that a panel of people will have power over life and death, as far as it relates to medical care.

What you are saying now, is the spin they put on the bill AFTER it was being quoted from. It’s not universal health care, it’s health insurance reform! Um, no.

ObamaCare would do the exact thing in the US, and its a travesty.
