Obama: “I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking”

posted at 1:33 pm on August 7, 2009 by Allahpundit

Can you blame him? You’re racists, you’re Nazis, and you’re political terrorists. Why should he listen?

Memo to The One from Peggy Noonan: “You are terrifying us.”

What the town-hall meetings represent is a feeling of rebellion, an uprising against change they do not believe in. And the Democratic response has been stunningly crude and aggressive. It has been to attack. Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the United States House of Representatives, accused the people at the meetings of “carrying swastikas and symbols like that.” (Apparently one protester held a hand-lettered sign with a “no” slash over a swastika.) But they are not Nazis, they’re Americans. Some of them looked like they’d actually spent some time fighting Nazis…

All of this is unnecessarily and unhelpfully divisive and provocative. They are mocking and menacing concerned citizens. This only makes a hot situation hotter. Is this what the president wants? It couldn’t be. But then in an odd way he sometimes seems not to have fully absorbed the awesome stature of his office. You really, if you’re president, can’t call an individual American stupid, if for no other reason than that you’re too big. You cannot allow your allies to call people protesting a health-care plan “extremists” and “right wing,” or bought, or Nazi-like, either. They’re citizens. They’re concerned. They deserve respect.

Like Ace says: It is breathtaking.

Update (Ed): Maybe Obama should listen to his Secretary of State’s words from 2003:

I am 57 and am now really pissed off by his socialistic policies and by the demonization of the good people of this country. My dad was a Marine and fought in two wars. He is mad about Obamacare and he is not a Nazi, a racist, nor a political terrorist. He was a hero that fought for this country.

Our Community Organizer in chief is doing a great job in organizing the opposition. I do not want him to take a big drink from a glass of STFU. Keep him talking. Every time he opens that bigoted, moronic, marxist mouth, he creates more of us. I am going to the next town hall near me and woe to the union sack of sh*t that gets in my face.

“The folks who created this mess”?

Then you’d better sit down and shut up, Frank, Dodd, Waters, Pelosi, Reid, Obama… He just said he wants those who created this mess not to do a lot of talking.

Remind me again. Wasn’t it Frank’s committee that pushed the “affordable housing” that led to the collapse of Fannie & Freddie? Wasn’t it Dodd “sweet home loan” deal that pushed it in the Senate? And (I could be wrong about this, but I’m not) wasn’t it Obama himself who took banks to court to force them into making loans they KNEW would never be paid back?

Obama, YOU created this mess, so by your own statement… YOU should sit down and shut up!

If the President and Democrat members of Congress were serious, which they are not, about real health system reform then they would pass legislation, using the Commerce Clause, to overrule all state level health insurance regulation and nurture a national market. They would allow insurance companies to sell a wide range of policies based on peoples’ needs without costly mandates that cause people to forgo coverage. They would allow for the expansion of HSAs and push high deductible, low premium health insurance plans. They would allow personal tax deductions for health care to help break the employer/health benefits link. They would expand these changes and eventually phase out Medicare and Medicaid by giving participants in those programs prefunded HSA debit cards with which the recipients can buy their own insurance plans and keep the money they don’t spend.

But since their REAL goal is to take over they system and further socialize our free nation they refuse to consider these ideas. The Democrats claim the GOP hasn’t offered any alternatives but each idea I wrote above are current GOP ideas.

The president and Democrat party leadership are simply, statists who seek to control as much of our lives as possible.

Once the Gov’t owns your healthcare. They own you. They can tell you how much to eat, what to eat. They’ll also own your mental health, so if you think funny you can be re-educated. Ayers will be leading up the education programmes.

Gov’t control of Healthcare is the lynchpin that allows the door of Fascism to swing wide open.

Obama: “I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking”

Really? So why are you letting all of the left-wing zealots that pushed things like the Community Reinvestment Act run their mouths?

You ever notice how the left constantly blames Bush for the economy, yet never cites any example of WHY it’s his fault. The best you get is the LIE about “tax cuts for the rich”, but that is easily debunkable. It pulled us out of Clinton/Gore recession, 9/11 economic collapse, and lead to record 52 consecutive months of job creation.

Anyway, example # 9,872,563 of The One speaking like a Nazi. Who the F are you to say who should be “talking” you evil SOB?

RightWinged on August 7, 2009 at 3:20 PM

Does Congressman Frank support the proposal for a “public option” in the health care bill?

Congressman Frank has been a strong support of a public option. He stated his position clearly in a recent appearance on The Ed Show on MSNBC:

“I’m for single payer, which I think Medicare has shown is the best system. I will accept as second best a very good public option which, by the way, when the conservatives say will lead to a total public plan, they are conceding our point, namely that people will find that there is a better level of care. But I would not accept anything less than a very vigorous public option, and I don’t think a majority of the House will either.”

For more information about Congressman Frank’s views about health care, see his letter to constituents.

Why isn’t Congressman Frank holding town halls about health care during the month of August?

Congressman Frank has scheduled many meetings with individual constituents and with local organizations throughout the month of August. Members of his staff also take phone calls from constituents and they faithfully convey people’s views to the Congressman.

Congressman Frank wants to know specifically how the health care system affects individuals and small businesses, so he feels that one-on-one and small group meetings are most effective. If you would like to meet with Congressman Frank, you may submit a request online.

Created the mess? Bush was president for 8 years, and we did not have these kinds of problems until the Democratic Congress took control. And Obama was a member of that Congress.

Bush never signed a budget with a 1.3 trillion dollar deficit, Obama did.

The President was reported to have continued with, “I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.” His ACTUAL words were, “I don’t mind cleanin’ up after ‘em, but don’t do a lot of talkin’”. I wonder why the media only reports the clipped consonants of folks like Sarah Palin, while they fill in the blanks for Obama? I’m surprised they didn’t volunteer the correct sentence structure and grammar, as well. Maybe that’s next.

Eating away at our liberties, or core values, our sense of achievement and national pride. Only in war do we galvanize as Americans, fully becoming a force that will not and cannot be defeated. It has come to this now. We are at war with a Tyrant and his minions. They are bringing us together as Americans. Beautiful, strong, proud free Americans. It’s happening now. All colors, all creeds, Democrats and Republicans and Libertarians and Independents. All in shock and awe at the tyranny exhibited by this fraud president, this man who hates America and has contempt for its people. We will continue to multiply. We are legion. We are Americans, free and powerful. The day has come. We begin now to take our country back. I pray to God.

When He says he doesn’t want you to do a lot of talking, He means it:

New FCC ‘Chief Diversity Officer’ Co-Wrote Liberal Group’s ‘Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio’

Which rails against the fact that the American people overwhelmingly prefer to listen to conservative (and Christian) talk radio rather than the liberal alternative, and suggests ways the federal government can remedy this free-market created “problem.”

Restore local and national caps on the ownership of commercial radio stations.

Ensure greater local accountability over radio licensing.

Require commercial owners who fail to abide by enforceable public interest obligations to pay a fee to support public broadcasting.

These last two get perilously close to the use of “localism” to silence conservative (and Christian) radio stations, about which we have been warning for quite some time.

Aimed squarely at Clear Channel.

Iver Bogen
Iver Bogen (emeritus professor of psychology at the University of Minnesota, Duluth), writes about the “The Nazification Of The Republican Administration”

Just as Hitler was installed (but not elected by the German people) as the Feuhrer by the Nazi party, so George W. Bush was installed as President of the United States by a conservative Supreme Court.

In both cases, governments used “national security” as an excuse to launch an assault on democratic freedoms.

While “lebensraum” was a rallying cry for Hitler, Bush’s “evil axis,” referring to North Korea, Iran and Iraq, was supposed to generate patriotic “no-think” here in the USA.

Just as Hitler detached himself from the League of Nations, George W. has been assuming a more insular position internationally. … Just as the burning of the Reichstag provided the Nazi party with the opportunity for shredding the Weimar Constitution, so did the attack on the World Trade Center on 9/11/01 provide the Republican administration (Cheney/Ashcroft/Rumsfeld) with the rationale for abolishing the freedoms granted to all citizens in the American Constitution.

No matter how much one strains to draw parallels between the early years of Bush’s presidency and the rise of Hitler, the truth remains that Hitler’s outstanding characteristic was not the means of his ascension, but rather his rabidly collectivist, national socialist political philosophies. That’s where the parallels with Bush lapse flacidly into intellectual rubbish, but those with Obama truly pick up and start running.

It’s amazing to see how quickly the Prez slips into “black preacher mode.” (Please don’t take this as a racist comment, because it’s absolutely not one.)

I’ve been to several black churches, and the pattern for the sermons is often this: pause often for amens; turn and look at the choir; allow the audience to build up in enthusiasm, etc. Basically, every time President Obama talks to a black audience, he goes directly into this mode. Anyone know to whom he was speaking in the clip above? I’d venture a guess, but it’s not always safe to assume.

Of course, it’s not that I’m necessarily critical of this phenomenon–only that it’s amusing to me. You see the same effect on politicians speaking in the South, especially when they feel the need to flash the Southern creds. This can be highly entertaining.

(Former Senator Edwards, who represented my State, was sadly constrained to attempt talking without an accent when he was outside of the State. It didn’t work. He always sounded like such a hick, and far more so than 98% of our population here in North Cackalacky.)

What was Ochimpy looking at off stage? He reminded me of a skit I saw Dana Carvy do. He was making fun of musicians who look to the left and right after they sing a verse as if to put an exclamation point on it.

The guy is as fake as all the promises he has made.

csdeven on August 7, 2009 at 4:12 PM

UnderstandingisPower on August 7, 2009 at 3:15 PM

SURPRISE! Just heard on the radio that Dodd and Conrad have been cleared by a Senate Ethics panel and a statement saying they didn’t break any Senate Rules by getting sweetheart deals from Countrywide’s VIP Friends of Angelo mortgage program.

Dude – Lighten up on the recreational substances man. Here is a newsflash for you. GW is not the Prez anymore. We had an election that

- Had illegal contributions
- Had illegal registrations by acorn
- Had voter intimidation in Philly
- Had a fifth column press

So, some jug eared jackass of a community organizer stole the election. the guys name is barack barry hussein Soweto obama. You can check out his autobiography that was ghost written by the former head of the terrorist organization weather underground William Ayers.

So, I know you have a lot of catching up to do there. Have a nice day!!

bullseye on August 7, 2009 at 4:14 PM

WOW!

That is almost unbelievable. The gall!

Excuse us for voicing our concerns and dissent, Der Fuhrer!

The same video is featured on Breitbart’s website and the huge response in the comments is absolutely SCATHING of Obama.

It’s almost surreal.

Paul Street, ZNet contributor and Vice President for Research and Planning at the Chicago Urban League, wrote on April 14, 2003 that there is, apparently, only one particularly notable difference between Bush and Hitler – Hitler wouldn’t have allowed any looting of museums in Baghdad:

The White House is deeply offended (officially at least) by those who note the chilling parallel between Nazi foreign policy and the Bush-Wolfowitz doctrine of “preemptive” (really preventive) war currently being enacted in Iraq.

Remembering that all versions of racist imperialism are not the same, then, let us note one key difference between the way the Bush gang is proceeding and how Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich would have conquered Baghdad.

The Nazis, we can be sure, would have made special provision to safeguard, and then of course appropriate, the monumental treasures of Mesopotamia and ancient Sumerian civilization.

Del Dolemonte on August 7, 2009 at 4:17 PM

The President was reported to have continued with, “I don’t mind cleaning up after them, but don’t do a lot of talking.” His ACTUAL words were, “I don’t mind cleanin’ up after ‘em, but don’t do a lot of talkin’”. I wonder why the media only reports the clipped consonants of folks like Sarah Palin, while they fill in the blanks for Obama? I’m surprised they didn’t volunteer the correct sentence structure and grammar, as well. Maybe that’s next.

In a perfect world, we’d see a “Million Americans” march right up the steps of Congress and toss the hyenas out into the streets…and then head on over to the White House.

While it seems some Americans are finally waking up to the nightmare that Thug Obama is bringing to this country…the sad fact is there are millions of idiots in this country who have tasted the Kool Aid and like the way it tastes and damned if you’ll ever convince them otherwise.

The Socialist Dictator The President of the United States sends his organized Brownshirts goons to physically intimidate and quell any and all opposition to his own ideas. The same goons who are known to have conspired in voter fraud and intimidation AT HIS OWN REQUEST!

Lincoln – 1865…Garfield – 1881…McKinley – 1901…Kennedy – 1963…

Just sayin…we’re about due. And the way this jackass is driving this country into the ground I wouldn’t be surprised at all.

But I would hope that doesn’t happen. The sweetest victory would be overwhelming defeat of the Democrats in 2010 and then stop this walking disgrace at one term.

Do I hate Obama because he is black? Well, the only reason retarded guilty white people voted for him is because he’s (half) black…so race does enter into it. But Barry O’ Half Breed is showing us loud and clear why Affirmative Action always bites you in the end.

Kewl… do we get to Guillotine the Lawyers?

Romeo13 on August 7, 2009 at 3:33 PM

We’re the ones who have to worry about the guillotine, as the libs look at themselves as French Revolutionaries, whom they worship (not noticing the fac that the French are on their 5th republic, already, and still haven’t gotten it correct). They love the anti-religion, anti-capitlist zealotry and view closing Gitmo as akin to storming the Bastille. The Reign of Terror is not far away, as the lunatic-in-chief is showing everyonw with his unhinged speech for Creigh Deeds and the Washington junta displays with their love of the new “manufactured outrage” lie about the health care townhalls.

WhatDukeSaid on August 7, 2009 at 4:22 PM

The cherry on top of that sweet victory would be the election of Sarah Palin as Speaker of the House. The sound of liberal heads exploding all around the country would be music to my ears.. better than the Brandenberg Concerto.
