Gibbs: No worries, we’re not collecting names from Obama’s enemies list

posted at 5:08 pm on August 6, 2009 by Allahpundit

Oddly, I don’t feel reassured. I wonder why. Eight minutes here from today’s presser, with things getting good a little past the halfway mark as Major Garrett tries and fails to grasp why a media operation as sophisticated as The One’s needs public input to address myths about ObamaCare. I can’t remember where but I saw some lefty blog today scoffing at the very idea that there might be something untoward about a government tip line for “fishy” information. Combine that with the fact that we now have liberals complaining about protesters comparing them to Nazis and we’ve arrived in Bizarro World circa 2003.

Only one thing’s certain at this point: Today’s “Glenn Beck” should be a humdinger.

Compare Gibbs with this from Power Line in which they quote Byron York:

Taking the Dissident Database Seriously

Those lawyers also point out that the White House is not covered by the Freedom of Information Act, which means it would not have to release any information on the plan to members of the public who make a request.

In addition, the lawyers say the collected emails likely will be covered by the Presidential Records Act, which requires the White House to preserve and maintain its records for permanent storage in a government database. …

Yes, and he’s living in the UAE now.

To answer my own question according to Wiki we caught him and released him and he now lives in the United Arab Emirates.

Gibbs is a liar. You can tell by that sissy giggle of his that he fracturing the ‘veracity’ of his statements.

RobD on August 6, 2009 at 5:53 PM

Wiki isn’t very reliable though.

For example, their entry about ‘Baghdad Bob’ left out an entire subsection refering to Baghdad Bob being secretly relocated to the United States, being given cosmetic surgery, and having his name changed to Bob Gibbs.

Is anybody really believing this dunce? His lies outnumber Obama’s on a daily basis only because this dummy talks more than Obama. Of course the media still washes Obama’s feet daily, also.

I think it’s interesting that you travel multiple right of center sites, but I’m confused as to why. I posted at dkos regularly for about two years, but I had a goal on moderating some ideologies. You don’t seem intent on trying to change any opinions, so what’s your goal.

BadgerHawk on August 6, 2009 at 6:22 PM

Why is it that whenever Herr Gibbels say anything, I think that he’s lying? He makes Joe Isuzu look like George “I Cannot Tell A Lie” Washington.

As I wrote on another post, we must support President HoneckerObama and the Stasi! It’s the East GermanAmerican Way!

ClydeS on August 6, 2009 at 6:23 PM

I hope they keep Gibbs on for a long long time. I sit and contemplate who is more offensive, Gibbs or Obama. Keeps me from wondering if my country will ever be the same.

It’s truly Bizarro World. As Glenn Beck says, it’s a tipping point in history, and the future looks bleak.

Just watched this and besides the ridiculous accusation 3 X’s that Major lies in his reporting, I was most struck by Gibbs’ face at the end when he got the question about the 2003 and June 2008 quotes. It’s so easy to tell when he switches into dodge and weave mode – I’d love to play cards with this guy.

Some days, knowing dull well where all this is taking us, all I live for is the inevitable crash when all those Obamabots realize they’re still at the bottom of the totem pole. When this all explodes, they’ll go hungry first.

To drive away this most disturbing, yet somehow exhilarating future vision, I drink (and then I send sections of HR 3200 to the “flag@” address.)

If the administration wants to get this right, they should contact former Stasi members in what was East Germany…I’m sure they could get some pointers. Its all been done before in the world of Marxism…

Major Garrett tries and fails to grasp why a media operation as sophisticated as The One’s needs public input to address myths about ObamaCare.

Imtimidation tatics. What else could it be? They control the media, both houses, and yet they want to bully every-day Americans.

Mr. Community Organizer is gonna look mighty lonely in 2010 when all his friends are voted off the island.

This is the way that that people end up in concentration camps. The WWII Japanese-Americans were found due to census data and rounded up to camps. It’s what big governments do.

Where did all the real reporters come from?

I don’t why, but Fishy and Gibbs remind me of this line from The Great Dictator:

‘Baghdad Bob’ Gibbs- We gotta make this stick!

2ipa on August 6, 2009 at 11:07 PM

Here’s a suggestion:

Protest these outrageous actions. Send a dead fish to DC. Buy a can of cheap USA herring. Put each one in an zip lock bag and mail them to our fearless leaders. Send it with no return address, just to be safe. You’ll help the Post Office and our fishermen(they could use the help), it won’t cost very much, and you’ll be sending them what they asked for: something that seems fishy. Send them early and often.

shmendrick on August 7, 2009 at 12:15 AM

No, we’re collecting these names for NO REASON, and we’re certainly not going to SAVE or LOOK at them!

I mean, that goes against the whole purpose of GATHERING NAMES!

The need of leftists to believe in the stupidity of their “enemies” (anyone who dares to believe differently) is pathological.

Unfortunately, they’re surrounded by sycophantic MSManiacs who help them maintain the illusion.

Merovign on August 7, 2009 at 12:31 AM

Gibbs: No worries, we’re not collecting names from Obama’s enemies list

Of course not. They already have the names.

It’s just a matter of checking the rolls of ACORN, Moveon.org and the other Party controlled political groups.

If you’re not on those rolls, you made the list.

If the conservatives are worried about government control of healthcare now, just wait until they get it passed and health records start getting lost or “accidentally” made public.

You know this administration plays by ‘Chicago rules’. That means payback is going to be vicious once they get control.

schmuck281 on August 7, 2009 at 3:16 AM

That Gibbs is the biggest weasel since Scott McClellan.

Dr. ZhivBlago on August 7, 2009 at 3:23 AM

Linda Douglas will know what to do with that liar.

You may continue hiding behind the White House Pansy Press Corps. No one is afraid of you, Obambi, the Union thugs and the other Chicago meatheads most especially hard working Americans who work for a damn living.
