I actually emailed a prominent host, who had taken a mile swipe at another, explaining that different styles appeal to different people so none should be denigrated. I got a email back agreeing and I have never heard him say anything about another host again. It doesn’t hurt to tell them that it is counter productive.

Yep! And all those people would comment without reading. It was really funny. MB4 did this riff on the thread not being about MJ but that it really was, it was multi-layered and of course quite inventive. Somewhere along the line Ed was not amused.

We didn’t actually get into the circumstances of the ban in our email exchange so I can only comment about what’s in the thread. Long story short, it seems that Ed was unfamiliar with MB4 and banned him thinking he was just another troll. Had he known otherwise, I don’t think he would have banned MB4.

That’s odd. I didn’t think it’d been that long since I’d seen him post, and I didn’t see anything there ban worthy. I don’t even get how the poster you linked to even knew MB4 had been banned.
Normally Ed and Allah make it more obvious than that.
I’ll admit that I’ve been annoyed with him a time or two in the past, but I thought he was overall a good contributor, even if his best lines were from other people. :)

Somebody suggested we should have a Ban Wall or something where banned users are listed, perhaps with a link or description of the offense. It’s troubling that somebody like MB4 could just be disappeared without comment.
That’s about how I feel. I’ve found him annoying a few times but have also enjoyed locking horns with him, and most of the time he’s a lot of fun to have around and is a good man to have on our side.

We have a number of odd people here who post. The rest ignore them, and some can’t stand them, but I believe they add character to the site. In some cases, flora and fauna. And many of us post comments when we aren’t feeling well, and later regret them. And some of us do so when we’ve had a touch to much to drink.
That poster is a great character and did make many relevant humorous and literary contributions. So, I hope he’s learned from this experience, because even though we disagree on many things, and he has been very naughty and inciteful on occasion, I still very much enjoy him.
