I see what you're saying, orange; I really do, but I think you're trying to read too much into things. (and for the sake of full disclosure, I can't watch the RNC ad, so I'm having to go on people's description of it....so I could very well be off base).

It's one thing, though, to call a (undisputably) LARGE project like healtch care reformation scrabbled together with (undeniably) lengthy documentation with which attempts were made to (deliberately) rush through the legislative process in such a way that most of the voting voices (admitedly) don't have a clue as to what it entails a "dangerous experiment." I don't think there's much question as to whether or not it's experimental, and from a political perspective (the majority seems to oppose) and from a social perspective (this has the potential to drastically affect million's of people's health care) it's clearly dangerous. Yes, they are choice words, but they seem pretty accurate.

It's another thing all together, though, to single out dissenting voices (which is becoming more and more difficult to do it seems) and broadly label them a "mob" or call them zombies of corporate interests looking to "hurt the president."

It's one thing to present your position in an ad designed to invoke cheezy horror scenes with hokey music; it's another to open up a government email hotline for neighbors to snitch on each other due to "casual conversation" that may be spreading disinformation under the radar.

I hate looking at his face after seeing him on TV at minimum once a day for at least 5 minutes minimum.

I can't stand him, and this ad just foments that feeling.

But in this case the ad is the preacher, I'm the choir.

I despise liberals. This guy goes far, far, far beyond liberal. A liberal is like Alan Colmes. At least he can be funny twice a year. This cretin fascist in chief is sickening.

Love this ad. It's very visually stunning. I love how vile Rahm Emanuel looks in all the pics. We had the "Cheney is the real president" meme for the last 8 years. I think we need to stoke the "Rahm is the real president" meme now.

The font face is too whimsical. The lab doesn't read as a lab, just a dark, cluttered space. More pictures of Reid and Pelosi needed. Reference to Cash for Clunkers needed, along with a notation that American cars are being traded for foreign models. Reference to rushed 1000-page bill that no one has read needed.

It only fearmongering if there's nothing to fear.

I have been predicting for months that Obama will try to make himself functionally a dictator before the end of his first term. I know it sounds outlandish and will probably never happen -- but only because of conservatives who shout out loudly enough to warn off the population of the immanent attempt.

If he can't get it done by then, he will try to repeal the 8-year term limit for Presidents. He will state at first that the repeal won't apply to him, but the legislation will allow him a third term -- why not? What's right is right: if it's right for the next President to have 3 or more terms, it must be right for Obama as well.

The whole Honduras thing, the backing of Zelaya, was just so he could see it done up close (and, while he's at it, help justify subverting the constitution as supporting democracy) or to see how and why it failed.

And look how chummy he is with Hugo, Amadinejad and Kim Jong. Look at his list of czars. Look at how the Congress roles over when he commands 'spend and regulate!' I know: it's impossible; it will never happen. But

While looking this up I see that George Bush recommended abolishing the President's term limit as a protection against terrorism, likening term limits to forcing the substitution of a quarterback with a second-stringer eveery 8 years. See this: http://2004.georgewbush.org/news/termlimits.asp

If the Republican President thinks it's a good idea, how hard will it be for the Democratic Congress to vote it in for The One?

You know what, I think he's experimenting full on with ideology because that's all he knows. He's a failure in governance.

He knows how to be a community organizer; he doesn't have a clue what to do when he gets power.

Haha! Is this supposed to be a joke?

On the front page of HA, atop the left-hand column, there’s the new DNC ad showing mobs of angry right-wing protestors. The sub-headline is a sarcastic “No fearmongering here.”

As I write this, right next to that - atop the right-hand column - there’s the new RNC ad. The picture shows a placid, calm Barack Obama with the text “HIS MOST DANGEROUS EXPERIMENT OF ALL“.

No fearmongering there, right?

So I take it the RNC ad left you fearing for your physical safety then?

But to your strawman....is it 'fearmongering' to yell fire in a theater if there is really a fire?

IT'S ABOUT TIME RNC...

I was ready to leave and start my own damn party of real conservatives with some Huevo's to start getting the message out....

What's happening is that Washington is finally running head first into the information age, they still think they can get away with this, but *anyone* with a computer and internet access can become an informed citizen. We need more sites like this one getting the message out...

I like the RNC ad. It's factual. It appeals to reason. I especially like the scrolling rising unemployment figures "month after month after month." And visually it lays all the blame for all the problems on Obama. It robs him of the ony thing he has going for him with a slim majority of voters: personal charm. Very effective. The DNC ad, by comparison, is flawed because its imagery doesn't match its rhetoric. The "angry mob" looks like my neighbor, my kid's teacher, the guy who fixed my roof last week. They are utterly main stream, normal, average. Labeling a bunch of pony-tailed white women and gray-haired senior citizens as "a mob" is just not going to work.
