Cult leader to followers: Get out there and get in people’s faces on health care

posted at 4:37 pm on August 5, 2009 by Allahpundit

A new e-mail from Mt. Olympus via the boss. “Get in their faces” is a paraphrase in this case, but of course he’s been known to use those exact words in the past when mobilizing the faithful to do battle with the barbarian right-wing hordes. I’m sure they’re capable of reading between the lines.

Savor the nuance of a guy with his own online army worrying about astroturfing and political “mobs.”

There are those who profit from the status quo, or see this debate as a political game, and they will stop at nothing to block reform. They are filling the airwaves and the internet with outrageous falsehoods to scare people into opposing change. And some people, not surprisingly, are getting pretty nervous. So we’ve got to get out there, fight lies with truth, and set the record straight.

That’s why Organizing for America is putting together thousands of events this month where you can reach out to neighbors, show your support, and make certain your members of Congress know that you’re counting on them to act.

But these canvasses, town halls, and gatherings only make a difference if you turn up to knock on doors, share your views, and show your support. So here’s what I need from you:

Can you commit to join at least one event in your community this month?

What does “joining” an event mean? Verum Serum offers a few highlights from the townhall playbook developed by lefty outfit Health Care for America Now. Sample: “It is important that you take away right-wingers opportunities to talk to reporters by making sure that your staff or leaders are in constant contact with the media who attend.” Never did I dream I’d find the left panicked about losing the media on health care, but there you have it, in spectacularly creepy fashion. Be sure to follow VS’s link and read the full playbook at Talking Points Memo or else you’ll miss many important insights into the conservative mindset, such as our willingness to use “abusive language, arrests, props and physical violence” to earn a little camera time. In the meantime, though, a trip down memory lane back to last September…

Almost Certain Leftist BS Alert, claiming that an unspecified “freshman congressman” was “physically assaulted” at some unspecified place by a healthcare protestor:

http://thinkprogress.org/2009/08…-dem-assaulted/

Note that the story, oddly, never names the purported “victim” of said assault. Note, too, that there’s absolutely no news story anywhere online, as of this writing, confirming either the so-called “assault,” nor any arrest for same. (… and surely, publicly assaulting a congresscritter, in broad daylight, would be all sorts of newsworthy…) ;)

Just a quick heads-up, as I expect this is meant to go viral.

Here’s my favorite line from that email:

So yes, fixing this crisis will not be easy. Our opponents will attack us every day for daring to try. It will require time, and hard work, and there will be days when we don’t know if we have anything more to give. But there comes a moment when we all have to choose between doing what’s easy, and doing what’s right.

If he was actually taking the time and doing the hard work to get this thing right, he wouldn’t need to mobilize his astroturf army or demonize citizens who are afraid.

I want these sh*theads to explain to me how they arrive at 47 million uninsured. About one-fourth are illegal immigrants, one-fourth just don’t bother paying for it, one-fourth are eligible for existing programs, and one-fourth are in need. Can they explain why we aren’t talking about only, say, 10 to 15 million people.

Then, let’s talk about tort reform–crickets.

Then, let’s talk about increasing interstate competition among insurers.

Then, if we want to cut costs, we need patients to see what things actually cost. Provision and payment are completely separated. As long as “insurance will cover it,” most anything will go, unless the insurer puts its foot down.

I especially like #5:

5. We should demonstrate that we are the majority by chanting: when the other side gets too loud, we should shut them down with chants that counter their message like “Health care can’t wait!” and “Health care delayed is health care denied!”

I can’t wait to see poorly dressed people chanting this mantra that the bill must be voted on before it can be discussed. And, of course they need to remind us that “Tehy Won”

One piece of advice, guys. BYOM – Bring Your Own Media.

Bring your own camcorders, your tape recorders, your interviewers, etc. Show plenty of strength in numbers and knowledge.

Record EVERYTHING that moves – legs, hands, or mouth. When done, put it all on the Internet.

Who needs the Democrat Media? They will NEVER be fair to us, anyway. At least, we can fight back and show them for a change!

ZZ Top’s Sharp Dressed Man

Clean shirt, new shoes
And I don’t know where I am goin’ to
Silk suit, black tie
I don’t need a reason why

They come runnin’ just as fast as they can
‘Cause every girl crazy ’bout a sharp dressed man

Gold watch, diamond ring
I ain’t missin’ not a single thing
And cufflinks, stick pin
When I step out I’m gonna do you in

They come runnin’ just as fast as they can
‘Cause every girl crazy ’bout a sharp dressed man

Top coat, top hat
Well I don’t worry ’cause my wallet’s fat
Black shades, white gloves
Lookin’ sharp and lookin’ for love

They come runnin’ just as fast as they can
‘Cause every girl crazy ’bout a sharp dressed man

From wiki

While Organizing for America boasts incredible funding- both government and private, the mission remains somewhat of an enigma.

many experts maintain that it can’t be viewed as a mere political organization, rather somewhat of an omnibus organization- a huge mass of citizens fighting for further power of a political individual, in the hopes that this individual, with expanded power, can bring the change they want. Thus, the mission is by definition undefined, for it largely depends on this individual, Barack Obama.

Government funded?

Is this org legal?

Unprecedented?

Remind you of the Iranian Basij?

Is this the promised National Security Force?

This is seriously scary.

Stage 2 – Stop the “evil” right wingers (and lobbyists.. interesting choice of mix there) from asking any of the their questions.

Step 4 – Ask “positive” questions that support our majority position – They’re basically feeding the questions that the “MOCs” (Members of Congress) are already prepared to answer.

It turns the whole thing into scripted theater.

Step 6 – Praise your MOC for his “leadership” on this issue, this will have been very trying for him.
(How sexist)

Step 1: Inform the evil rightwing radical “we won”.

I just read on article on Michelles’ site, about Lanny Davis wanting us photographed, and investigated. Never thought that kind of crap would come from Lanny. It’s disgusting, and pure poison. But it’s the mask being removed too. Now Obama, and his supporters, no longer fear showing themselves, for what they truly are. Stalinists statists, who want a KGB type of environment, for America.

I don’t care what party affiliation you are, this is WRONG!!!!!

Should we send in our own pictures?

A prediction ….

These Obama thugs are going to plant a number of their own at these rallies, posing as concerned conservatives. They might even be carrying a Bite Me Obama sign to give them some credibility. And when the time is right they will stand up and go bat-shlt crazy on a congressman. This will be recorded by their cohorts in crime who just happen to be present for the lunacy moment, and turned over to all of the broadcast outlets (except Fox) as an example of how republicans are out of control, insane extremists, who want everyone to die.

Bank on it. Watch for it.
