Cavuto to Obama: Stop demagoging your critics, jackass
posted at 6:56 pm on August 5, 2009 by Allahpundit
“Jackass” being my choice of words, not his. Think of this as an Olbermann Special Comment if Keith were one-tenth as long-winded and 5-10,000 times more likeable. And yet it’s pointless: The One can’t stop demagoging his critics for the simple reason that his image won’t allow it. As the risen Christ of American politics, his agenda is ipso facto good and just; treating his critics’ concerns as valid instead of the ravings of a lunatic mob would be like Jesus telling Satan, “Well, you’ve got a point there.” The whole Hopenchange mythos is at its core demagoguery. What do you want him to say, Neil?
If you don’t read this post by Brian Faughnan after watching the clip then your understanding of this subject is incomplete.

Why do we have to be so divisive when all Obama wants to do is pay for my healthcare, my rent and gas? Why!?!
gwelf on August 5, 2009 at 6:58 PM
It’s not his image that won’t allow it, it’s the fact he was born and bred via Chicago style politics. Demean, destroy, demagogue, divide. And that’s the way he treats his friends.
His enemies get the same, only ratcheted up a couple of notches.

If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State. (Joseph Goebbels)
The keystone of the fascist doctrine is its conception of the State, of its essence, its functions, and its aims. For Fascism the State is absolute, individuals and groups relative. (Benito Mussolini)

It may be pointless for Cavuto to point out the thinness of Obama’s skin, and demagoging his critics, but as I see it…he said it, felt it, and felt compelled to let his viewers know his feelings. *shrugs*

Nice contrast on Bush vs. Obama with regard to dissent. I forgot about Rumsfeld’s reaction to the protesters. This will not end well for Obama but fortunately or unfortunately, he is too ignorant and too stubborn to figure out how to make it right. He will suffer for it.
sherry on August 5, 2009 at 7:04 PM
Obama is polarizing and painting his detractors as angry, rich, and racist mobs that are in the pocket of the RNC and big companies.
Obama can not stand dissent because he never had it in his life. He used his race as a tool to get what he wants, and anyone who dares question him on anything policy wise, we’re RACISTS!
Americans are fed up.
jencab on August 5, 2009 at 7:05 PM
The rhetoric is escalating – Bush was at least was able to keep things peaceful by not “ratcheting up” his rhetoric in response to opposition to him.
Obama – the great “uniter” doesn’t know how to do this. We may very well be headed to a civil war because he doesn’t have the people skills to STFU when he needs to.
We live in a Democracy Jackass. These 52% of Americans that you’re demonizing have the power to throw your buddies out of Congress next year at the polls.
Unless you have another plan to handle that too.

See Obama’s star slink down in the sky
Every dream he has spun is a lie
Here’s the one bitter lesson of Obama’s history
His soul should no longer remain a mystery
His many faces change
What you thought you knew grows ever more strange
And he has so many faces
His real self erases
With all those lies dancing in his empty eyes!

The reason they think it is manufactured anger is because for months and months they have been getting pats on the back from folks at KOS and Huffington. Now that some actual flesh shows up to say enough is enough the cowards are doing what cowards always do, hide. Their representatives have been stuck holding the bag. Do not imagine for a moment, Mr. Neil Cavuto, that leadership is a pleasure. On the contrary, it is a deep and heavy responsibility. No one believes more firmly than President Barack Obama in the right of citizens to speak freely and protest. He would be only too happy to let citizens speak their minds without retaliation and demonization, but sometimes the citizens might say the wrong things and protest against the wrong things, Mr. Neil Cavuto, and then where would we be?
Cheshire Cat on August 5, 2009 at 7:13 PM
I don’t get it. Obama was going to unite us. He wasn’t going to demonize his political opponents. He was going to be post-partisan. I swear, I never, ever saw this coming. I just never saw it coming.
JohnInCA on August 5, 2009 at 7:13 PM
When Obama goes out in public and “complains” about these protesters he comes across like the dorky little kid on the play ground who everyone makes fun of. He sounds like a spolied child who gets made when confronted with a lie and blames the person confronting him for…confronting him.
OT? Has anyone wondered why the email to the white house to tattle on your neighbor is named flag@whitehouse.gov? Is that some kind of subliminal message to make the narc think the yare doing their “patriotic” duty? Why use the word Flag?

Sorry to change the subject but we just found out the democratic machine is in full swing here in Ohio (more than usual). Our republican representative Tiberi is being challenged by a fully funded democrat that doesn’t even live in this district, but “she only lives eight minutes away”. The ads against Tiberi, who doesn’t really have the money to fight, have been outrageous. It makes me sick. Again, sorry for my venting.

Millions of Americans don’t want their money wasted and to be left under a load of crushing debt.
Millions of Americans don’t want high-minded, precluded “one size fits all” fixes, decreed from Obama’s Mount Olympus, that they are forced to swallow.
Millions of Americans worriedly insist, “My Body, My Choice” on health care.
Millions of ordinary Americans — not mobs, but real people — aren’t being heard any other way. So they are coming in droves to town halls to at last be heard by the arrogant “representatives” who will entirely shut them out otherwise.
Thank you, Neil Cavuto, for your soapbox message — I pray that someone, ANYONE who is in position to ram this catastrophe down Americans’ throats grabs a late-hour clue.

Has anyone thought of the fact that there are no leftie’s attending these town hall meetings? No ACORN people, no Union people? You know why? Because the majority of ACORN people already have gubmint healthcare through Medicaid. And the Union workers have outstanding plans that they don’t want to lose. That’s why they’re not showing up.
The ones that are showing up are concerned citizens, many with elderly parents that they love and care for. People with children who don’t want to sit inside some bureaucratic nightmare just to get a pediatrician.

Well done Cavuto.
I said it before, and I’ll say it again. We are witnessing the Jim Marshall presidency in action.
I disagreed with many things that George W. Bush did, but I always knew that he was a fundamentally decent man who loved his country, even when it didn’t love him back. Part of that love meant recognizing the rights of his critics and opponents; the cheap and petty demonizing of Americans by the current administration is sickening and frightening, and I am still in disbelief that it is actually happening here in the country I’ve always loved.

This is all Obama knows. Remember when he mocked the “people waving their teabags”.
Remember when he demonized the Chrysler bondholders because the were “holding out for a government handout” and he “didn’t stand with them”. They received death threats from left wing nuts..
Remember when he demonized the AIG executives and Acorn picked up on the dog whistle and promptly loaded busloads of people to drive to the homes of the execs to intimidate them.
This is all he knows. Demonize, mock, and ridicule your opponents. He never was a Uniter. We all knew it.

Such individuals who lack ulterior motive have traditionally been referred to in layman’s terms simply as a variation of a pyromaniac. Most such maniacs lack conscious motivation although they are fully aware of the acts they are failing to stop or they themselves are committing. Typically they will feel intense pleasure, gratification, or relief when causing destruction or when witnessing or participating in the aftermath. Motivation is also classified as pathological and non-pathological. Some research suggests that feeling such joy at horrific situation is pathological. Other research suggests that some motivation for this comes from rational thought. Taking joy in horrific situations for envisioned gains in political power and/or the concealment of the imposition of devious plans are examples of supposed rational decision making.

Glen Beck and a few others keep saying Obama is brilliant.
I have concluded he is really stupid. I think he is dangerously ignorant and in over his head. Yes he is ruthless, yes he is cold and power hungry and all of that,,, but he is not acting as someone who has any brilliance at all.
Sure,, he has been getting all he wants so far,,,, but at what future cost to himself??? Why risk so much political capital by ramming so much through so quickly when he could have gotten it all and more by showing a little more patience and restraint!??
Either he is completely stupid bordering on insane or he is planning to completely takeover this government in the most violent way!
How is this smart???
Why would he want to rule over a bankrupted divided nation when he could have risen to the levels of another FDR???? Why be a thug when over half the country was swooning?? Why push the Republicans away and alienate members of his own party when he started out 6 months ago with 99% of the congress eager to see him succeed?? Republicans included!!!
It makes no sense at all!! So how is this so smart???
He had so much and was so historical. If he would show more restraint, show more moderation while strengthening the economy,,, he would eventually be able to get every single thing he wants, including I am sure ObamaCare while maintaining high approval ratings and popularity. Why do it like this??? It makes no sense! Unless, of course,, he really is just plain stupid!
He is acting like such a thug when he could have had it all with just a little more patience! So how can this be brilliance??? It can’t be! Yeah,, he might get his ObamaCare and more before 2010 comes around,,, but he has angered and divided a nation that he already had united fairly well around his win on election day.

Scum they are, we agree, but one reason they sling mud is mud is all they have.
The facts are against them. History is against them. Most of America is against them. They want what they want because they want it, not because it makes sense. It’s very hard to justify something when all you have is this “I want to feel satisfied and important” need to be filled. They are so busy emoting they can’t even think.
Bama was talking about it the other day, how clearly he could see that his “plan” was immediately necessary, but articulating the plan so people would sign on was a problem. Well, duh, stud…first you don’t what is on the ground in Congress and can’t defend what you are telling people “the plan” is or isn’t. Second, you have about sucked the “sky is falling” well dry on the first two cons, so this one is going to have a harder time. Third, a lot of those people who wrote what they wanted to see on the blank slate you used in the campaign are not seeing it, and/or are not liking what they see. Fourth, you made a lot of heartfelt promises during the campaign which are apparently no better than used kleenex now. Everybody does some of that, but you were new, true, blue and honest. So more failures than even the evil Bush in this regard make it worse for you with those who value such conduct.
Stud, when the winds change, the hunter can find himself hunted. You don’t understand that, never having done anything but talk for your life. It’s real, booby, and the wind is changing. Your own stench is coming back at you.
