Video: Michelle makes new friend on “The View”

posted at 12:52 pm on August 3, 2009 by Allahpundit

I think we have to call it a minor disappointment simply because no one cried. The boss clearly went in there with a game plan, though: Knowing that she’d be interrupted at every opportunity, she set out to dominate the conversation, and knowing that Joy would be hostile, she made no pretense that they were just having a friendly chat. The tone is set from the get-go, with MM quizzing her about whether she read the book and Behar looking at Whoopi and smirking ostentatiously. Best part: The groans from the audience when Michelle referred to Hasselbeck as “the friendlier side of the aisle.” How dare she impugn Joy’s scrupulous impartiality.

Most of the questions had to do with whether Bush’s administration wasn’t at least equally corrupt, thereby proving that the bar for Hopenchange is being reset a little bit lower every day. As the boss says, “You know you’ve won the argument when the ladies of the View are reduced to arguing how corrupt they are, and not whether.”

Wow, that was quite a butt kicking. I’m impressed.

Whoopi and Joyless are on tilt. They are extremely nervous about this faux leader. Really

THE CHOSEN ONE on August 3, 2009 at 11:33 PM

…do you notice how surly and rude lib women are?

technopeasant on August 3, 2009 at 10:02 PM

You blame them? Can you picture what it must be like for Joy to sit right next to her, and try to remain focused on the conversation? And all the while she’s thinking how much she’d like to hit on Michelle.

Whoopi, too. You know it’s true.

Jaibones on August 3, 2009 at 11:40 PM

Your out of your depth Joy…STFU!

RobCon on August 3, 2009 at 11:41 PM

I rolled on the floor laughing!!!!!! Joyless had a stupified “deer in the headlights” look on her face at the end! Boss, you rocked it!!! Way to go girl!!!

Vntnrse on August 3, 2009 at 11:51 PM

Michelle Malkin, you just showed conservatives how it’s done.

latinchic on August 4, 2009 at 12:28 AM

I can’t get over Whoopis constantly asking Michelle, “Well, what should be different? How would you fix it?”

WTH is Michelle supposed to answer that, for?!?!?
The point she is making is, we got sold a sham bill of goods from this administration, and we ought to think seriously, about re-electing him, or putting anyone with a “D” after their name, in the White House, ever again! There’s your answer!!

ToddonCapeCod on August 4, 2009 at 12:43 AM

Wow…in a show known for its constant screeching and interupting for a “gotcha!” zinger, that was a hell of a beat down. Well done MM!

SnakeintheGrass on August 4, 2009 at 12:59 AM

Michelle Malkin is a Rock Star with a Big Brain. And she is mighty cute I might add.

Michelle Malkin kicks a$$. Somebody get a mop, MM just nuked some of our enemies.

Now all you RINOS can attack me with your “CULT OF PERSONALITY WARNING” I usually get when I say Sarah Palin Kicks a$$.

But this time it is about Michelle Malkin. So go ahead RINOs attack me because we just can’t get excited about our heros, that would be like being like an Obot or something.

Geochelone on August 4, 2009 at 1:33 AM

On another note, what in gods name is whooopi wearing? What a freakizoid.

Geochelone on August 4, 2009 at 1:34 AM

OMG, Michelle Malkin really socked it to Joyless and Whoopi. The sour expression in Behar’s face was enjoyable (at least to me). Joyless’ constant mention of GWB was pathetic, and Whoopi’s apron was distracting in the least.

Michelle, you’re great! I am so pleased with how you handled these two.

mz.josephine on August 4, 2009 at 1:43 AM

At 4:30, Joyless says to Whoopi dee doo “read the book” and Whoop dee doo replies “Why”? under her breath These two people turds do NO research at all and are brainless fools.

The View in 5 words: CrockObama good, anything republican bad.

No matter how you dress it up, polish it or paint it, a turd is still a turd. Joy Behar looks like she just had one for dinner, classic pictures of her.

dthorny on August 4, 2009 at 2:55 AM

No amount of corruption in any previous administration, including Bush’s, makes corruption in the current administration acceptable.

Moral relativism is dangerous.

jazz_piano on August 3, 2009 at 1:12 PM

Remember, CrockObama said he had the 13 page entrance exam for his presidential appointments for vetting these fools: Daschle, Richardson…?

HE LIES ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!

How can we trust them on healthcare?

dthorny on August 4, 2009 at 3:02 AM

So when is Fox going to set up their own “view” with Michelle, Kirsten Powers, S.E. Cupp and some other fourth gal (Kimberly Guilfoyle maybe)?

Daemonocracy on August 4, 2009 at 3:06 AM

Gee, what a minute in and Behar interrupts .Can someone get this whining harpey another job…say a role as Elizabeth Montgomery’s mother in a remake of ‘Bewitched’

Mattmax on August 4, 2009 at 4:28 AM

Magnificent, Michelle!

Every day, you become more and more a force to be reckoned with.
…………………………………………….
Last week Mark Levin said he was going to have Michelle on his show “next Tuesday, I think” By my calculations, that would be today. Anyone know for sure?

LegendHasIt on August 4, 2009 at 4:58 AM

Now THAT’S the MM I know & love!

Their futile attempts to embarrass (and flip the subject) on Michelle by asking “What do we Do?” (like they really care) were pathetic.
“What are we supposed to take away from this?”
“What’s the Solution?”

Eat it, Behar. For once, her arrogance & “wit” was no match for her guest.

nationspatriotcom on August 4, 2009 at 5:05 AM

There’s still trailers in Katrina that he (Bush) didn’t fix!

.
Clearly we need a program that will assist Presidents in putting their time at the White House to use, by learning a trade they can use on the outside; like Carpentry or Trailer Repair.

ronsfi on August 4, 2009 at 5:24 AM

Frankly, I was surprised at how mellow Whoppi was. But then, it’s hard to defend the indefensible.

RobertInLexington on August 4, 2009 at 7:24 AM

Wow. That’s going to leave a mark. Well done. Well done.

The contrast between the vapid talking point/reflex BDS reaction, and the informed critique couldn’t be more stark.

Behar looked like she was constipated. Just push it out honey.

themistocles on August 4, 2009 at 7:25 AM

Most of the questions had to do with whether Bush’s administration wasn’t at least equally corrupt, thereby proving that the bar for Hopenchange is being reset a little bit lower every day.

It’s typical and predictable but why have MM on to talk about her book when all the crones of The View want to do is bash Bush. Plenty of lefties they can find who will indulge in their little game. Plus, there is no evidence that Behar even knows how to read.

highhopes on August 4, 2009 at 8:06 AM

Michelle Malkin & Liz Cheney could “take on” anyone in a debate. Excellent. Sarah ain’t bad either, but could take pointers from the first two.

stenwin77 on August 4, 2009 at 8:35 AM

They can’t handle the truth!

TheSitRep on August 4, 2009 at 8:44 AM

I’ve watched this several times because Michelle is awesome and beautiful and because any conservative going into enemy territory could pick up some very useful pointers from this clip. One observation of mine that I think was wrong at first was that when Michelle makes the friendly side of the aisle statement that the audience’s reaction is hostile. I’m not so sure anymore, I’m starting to think that it’s almost like the reaction from kids who see a little kid stand up to a bully for the first time. If you listen closely to the individual voices it’s not literally a “wow” but has that tone. Now Michelle was facing those people and could see thier faces so she really would know the sentiment, but knowing a few conservative women who still tune into the view makes me believe that once in that audience there may be some kind of collective hypnosis that makes them rspond most of the time like idiots.

peacenprosperity on August 4, 2009 at 8:45 AM

I wonder if Michelle ever worked on a dairy farm? It was evident on the View that she knew how to deal with cows.

bill30097 on August 4, 2009 at 8:53 AM

She’s good. Very hot. But very good debater! MM for Prez!

scottjenn on August 4, 2009 at 9:27 AM

So Malkin’s earth shattering point is that the Obama administration, like every other administration, contains some corruption and nepotism. She also openly admits that Obama’s administration is by no means the most corrupt we have ever seen.

She then proceeds to condemn Obama for hiring a convicted shoplifter. The horror!

The girls on the View didn’t have to dominate the conversation to discredit Malkin. She did a fine job of trivializing her own work by herself.

crr6 on August 3, 2009 at 12:59 PM

So, you admit that Obama is business as usual? After all, he did promise that his administration wouldn’t be.

mizflame98 on August 4, 2009 at 9:36 AM

crr6 on August 3, 2009 at 12:59 PM

Why does it always come down to relativism? Why can’t we just say noone should run their team like this no matter what??? I thought that is what Obama promised in his speeches? I am sick of hearing Bush this Bush that. As usual he is not taking responsibility for his own words. He said he would clean up the economy, etc. This isn’t a Bush problem, it is his.

It is so sad to see a group of selfish experts (they declared themselves experts on everything) turned into a nationally televised Tupperware party.

Save for Elizabeth, the rest of The View “ladies” do seem a bit preoccupied with [b]ush.

They brought up Bush they like moral relativism when they are being judged.

But a couple of these women were trying to decide in an earlier segment if Rosanne Barr dressing up as Hitler, and taking burnt Jew Cookies out of the oven was funny. The woman named Sherry actually said, well maybe we have to take it in context….REPULSIVE this passes for daytime entertainment? When something like this turd offering from Rosanne Barr is discussed seriously, it is to desensitize the audience to the subject. Really desensitize people to one of the most horrible periods in human history? No one on that panel appears to have any moral bearings what so ever as to what is and isn’t Moral they are trying to be amoral well when liberals are on when conservatives are on there is a need to judge them. Why does Barbara Walters perpetuate this kind of dumb crap?

Eugenics is popular with this administration so Rosanne Barr, and the Ladys of the View, will make it palatable for the herd to consume?

No I don’t watch the View, and won’t be again any time soon, as far as Rosanne goes….Rosanne who?

Desire to terminate inferior races grew out of book entitled “The Permission to Destroy Life Unworthy of Life” written by Alfred Ploetz and published in 1904. Ploetz argued that certain classes of humans were unworthy and should be terminated. Classes included homosexuals, mentally retarded and those who are “below the beasts.” Nazis later classified Jews as “sub-human”.

I finally got the stomach to watch the View Vitches. Michelle provides a template with how to deal with idiots. She also won the audience over. 1st rate performance.

PWNING the many-headed hydra of “The View.” One down, 11 of the 12 labors of Hercules to go!

(I wonder if this counted as capturing Cerberus, too? What with them being a 3-headed dog and all)

Great appearance!

DrAllecon on August 4, 2009 at 11:18 AM

Whoppi: “what’s your alternative?”
Americans: “don’t appoint crooks.”

hawksruleva on August 4, 2009 at 11:19 AM

I was confused as to whether or not Michelle meant “friendly,” as in sympathetic to her POV, or if she meant the side without the mean, grouchy old hags.

Blue_State_Blues on August 4, 2009 at 11:26 AM

ugh Why do they always bring up katrina?? Sherry needs to be asking the state government about those trailers.

WHO was that COW in the green? I neeeeeeeeeeeever watch pop culture television, but I am TRILLED MM waded into the sewer to preach to the unwashed.

If the content of just ONE of those freebie books cuts through the cloud of ignorance of just ONE of those vapid audiece lap dogs, her seven minutes will have been a success.

MAN, she took Joy to the woodshed.

And Elizabeth almost giggled out loud.

Brava, Boss Lady. BRAVA.

seejanemom on August 4, 2009 at 1:12 PM

She came, she saw, she conquered! Great job Michelle!

Herb on August 4, 2009 at 2:01 PM

Michelle didn’t do herself any favors. Some of you are going on about how she “showed Joy and Whoopi!”. She did none of the sort. She came off as a rambling psychopath in major need of Ritalin, while those two ladies just sat there in disbelief of what she was saying. The multiple gasps of shock from the audience show how crazy everyone there thought Malkin was.

Simply awesome.

Well done, Michelle. This has been a long time coming, but it was well worth the wait.

Behar and Co. never stood a chance.

hillbillyjim on August 4, 2009 at 3:47 PM

Fascinating how three of the women on the view seemed to be arguing in favor of not wanting to know bad things about Obama and his cronies.

Mr A on August 4, 2009 at 4:20 PM

Also, very happy that Michele, unlike John McCain, did not let herself be rolled by the view regulars.

michelle did an amazing job. its very hard to deal with joy behar, the ignorant queen. Michelle was clearly on to talk about issues facing us TODAY, not about the past. While I should be more interested in the issues Michelle talks about in the book, it makes me equally exciting not to see someone be stomped over by Joy and her Bush bashing. I mean really, was the really the first response, WHAT ABOUT THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION!?! Good job Michelle, I’m definitely getting the book.
