Dude, I’m nervous. What if Whoopi comes armed with a study proving that fire really can’t melt steel?

Wow, Joy is one dense person.
Great Job, Michelle! Oof…all of them together don’t match up to the brainpower of Michelle. Almost embarrasing to watch her have to go through that.

Michelle kept her cool and got the message out there. And if Whoopi is going to confront Michelle with a “quote” from her book, she should have read it. Most people would find it incredibly embarrassing to misquote a book and then admit that they haven’t read it, but Whoopi just blew it off by saying, “I was told to say it, someone else said you wrote that quote…” Lame.

Whoopie says it doesn’t matter – they are all corrupt so let’s move on. Whoopie scores one by making Malkin say that – yes – all are corrupt. EXCEPT Obama was voted in on a change from the corruption and he’s the king of all corruption. Whoopie is having none of that and asks “How can we fix it?” Code for – Hey bitch! Stop listing all the corruption in Obama’s Whitehouse. These people don’t need to know about that. That’s what I heard in my head actually.

I suspect none but Elizabeth read the book. More likely, it was some intern assigned to read the book and just read a commenter’s review on Amazon, hence the quote that wasn’t in the book.

kensington, did you see the NABE figures released last week? They were on Drudge, they recalculated the 01 recession, it was quite small it turns out, and largely driven by Alan Greenspan inflating the tech bubble,, not the big dawg just sayin…

Michelle did a wonderful job. I like that she addressed her answers to the audience. If anyone sane was watching she got her message across.

Whoopi had a quote printed up on a small piece of paper. She gave the impression to the audience that the quote was extracted from Michelle’s Book. Whoopi shoved it in her face trying deperately to catch Michelle in a gotcha moment. Michelle passed it right back to Whoopi and said (paraphrasing) “That’s not in my book”, and the issue was dropped.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Sounds like a lame response from Whoopi in some kind of half-ass effort to be fair and balanced. As someone suggested above, the quote must have been from something read from those idiots who go into amazon and give her one star. Hilarious distribution of ratings there–either five stars or one star–few in between. And all the one star commenters begin by saying “I haven’t read the book, but….”
