The obligatory “bogus poll shows Alaskans souring on Palin” post

posted at 9:05 pm on July 31, 2009 by Allahpundit

The bad news? After a full day without Sarahcuda content, the withdrawal finally got to me. Here you go. Final Hays Research numbers as governor:

Slightly more Alaskans – 48 percent – said they had negative feelings about Palin compared to 47 percent who had positive feelings and another five percent who had no opinion or didn’t know.

The poll taken at the end of Palin’s first week out of office represents a significant slide for the former governor who received higher positive ratings in a Hays Research Group poll in early May. At that time, 54 percent of Alaskans viewed her positively compared to 42 who had the opposite view.

The good news? I’m going to come to her defense here by linking Conservatives 4 Palin’s post about why the Hays poll is a big ball of steaming shinola. How big? Their prediction for how Alaska would break last November was off by a cool … 20 points.

Click around over there and you’ll find some sweet, sweet Allah-bashing too. Time for a beer summit, maybe? Imagine it: Me, Palin, the first dude, and a keg of MGD. And maybe Sullivan too, just so we can finally get to the bottom of the Great Trig Mystery. In her honor, I offer you the latest cut from the Young Conservatives. Yeah, those guys.

I gotta run bro, but prayers do help. I know for a fact.

As for the rest, I agree…except your views on gay marriage obviously…and the GOP/conservative movement better get it’s damn act together, and quick. Steele ain’t helping.

Thing is, it’s going to require ALL of us on the right to do a little give and take on this and that. Bottom line.

Hope we can.

Peace.

Sarah is not done! The more she is unfairly attacked the more filth from the left is spread the more the GOP stands idly by and allows it the more power she recieves. The good people of America have an inate sense of fairness and decency and when she decides the time and place she will be back.
I have faith in Sarah and most of the American people. Its the people I question more than Sarah!
She is a fighter, loves her country, her state, her family and is a hunter. The fight will now progress on her terms, in her time, not the way it was before.
She is now the predator free to take the fight where she will, she is no longer the prey shackled to the governorship, John McCain, or the GOP.
She is just what we need to defeat the Good Old Boy two party network of pandering elites and inside the beltway carreerists.

Yeah, I think she actually won the election with something like 18% of the vote, too. Wait, she really didn’t win, or something like that. Her approval rating in ALaska is now at 8%, which is higher than her 3% national approval rating.

What’s hruting your brain is that it won’t be long before her approval rating will be higher than your messiah’s. Ouch.

ddrintn on August 1, 2009 at 1:08 AM

benny shakar on August 1, 2009 at 12:52 AM

Jeanne, Other polls confirm the numbers.

As for those who argued that Palin decided to leave office for fear she would lose in 2010, this poll, which was in the field from June 14-18 suggests otherwise. Palin led Berkowitz 56 percent to 36 percent in a hypothetical general election matchup and carried a solid 56 percent/35 percent favorable to unfavorable score.

A May 2007 poll taken by Ivan Moore Research in Alaska put Palin’s positive rating at 89 percent. That’s off the charts high. But Moore’s survey wasn’t a traditional approval rating or job performance measure. Rather, respondents were asked to rate their feelings toward public figures as very or somewhat positive or very or somewhat negative. The verys and somewhats were then combined.

A poll two weeks before that one, from Dittman Research, gave Palin a 93 percent approval rating.

A Rasmussen poll on July 30 found 64% of voters rate Palin’s job performance as excellent or good versus 14% who view it as poor. On July 8, Hoeven clocked 72 percent at excellent or good against just 6 percent who rated his performance as poor.

Scott Rasmussen, founder and CEO of Rasmussen Reports, said people shouldn’t get hung up on whether someone ranked No. 1 or 2. Those numbers change with the political winds of the day.

“In a broader sense, she (Palin) is one of the very top,” Rasmussen said.

The polling firm SurveyUSA has in the past conducted governor’s approval ratings in all 50 states, but not since Palin took office.

In 2006, the highest ratings were around 80 percent.

The ratings being reported in Alaska for Palin are “extraordinarily high,” said Jay Leve, editor of SurveyUSA. “Those kinds of numbers are unprecedented.”

This is the video that Barack Obama, Jeanne Devon, Linda Kellen Biegel and others just do not want you to see!

In fact, those idiots have been actively trying to get it banned. Thankfully, we have this thing hosted all over the place now, and those little sewer rats don’t have enough help to take ‘em all down!

I’ve been writing about this for months, but this video by The Naked Emperor shows all of the connections between Barack Obama, the nasty bloggers, and the co-called “independent” phony ethics complaint filers who stole over $2 million dollars in Alaskan tax payer money with their little hate fest.

This video includes the story of how Barack Obama was behind the phony “Troopergate” witch hunt, and how he paid off state senator Kim Elton for his part in this fraudulent investigation. Obama gave Elton a “make-work” job at the Interior Department for his “job well done.”

Chicago thug politics at it’s finest!

You could make the argument that she is currently working on a book so technically she isn’t “unemployed” because she is working for the publishing company known as Harper Collins.

She has a lot of options right, I hope she sticks to giving speeches at private events.

screw the tv show and a long radio program

maybe some short daily radio commentary so she can state the positions on the issues at hand… the whole 4 hour deal is a big no no.

TimeTraveler on August 1, 2009 at 2:01 AM

This is the course Palin should take if she plans on running.

Punditry on various cable shows
Op-Ed Pieces
Short 3 min radio commentary daily segments.

I am sure a lot of people in DC would love to work with her.

No prayers are going to revive the Conservative Movement either and you know it.

Please don’t even think that way. Prayer is the most powerful force on earth. Remember when Stalin ridiculed the Pope, sneering, “How many divisions, how many troops does the Vatican have?” It was prayer and hard work that brought down the wall, and it will be prayer, and hard work, in that order, that will deliver us from Obama. And keep you safe, God willing, and the crick … you know the rest.

If the residents of Alaska aren’t happy about the recent turn of events then they should put the blame where it belongs and hold the liberal network of Palinh8ters and DNC operatives up there responsible for this. Psychotic stalkers like Moore and McCleod and ugly, hateful scum like Celtic Pig should have been held legally accountable for this disgrace before it ever got to this point.

If there is no legal challenge to these parasites who have made Alaskan politics into a joke–and after tying up the courts for eight months and bleeding the treasury I can’t believe that there isn’t–then everyday Alaskan citizens should have the decency to treat these people like the excrement that they are and run them out of town like lepers.

The 10 ways to explain or justify why Sarah quit:

1) to extricate herself from an untenable, punitive situation in order to reposition herself to the high ground to get ready to fight a new battle

2)to take advantage of a better opportunity (a Broadway actress moving to Hollywood)but knowing there is a stand-in waiting in the wings

3)Like a prospector’s claim running dry or being all played out Sarah had accomplished everything she wanted to do as governor and felt a need to stake out a new claim

4)Sarah was like an abused or battered wife that needed a temporary shelter for her and her family to protect them from further extraneous harm

5)Self-preservation or survival after being kept under siege for months on end after refusing to surrender

6)To help the party in a different capacity-state to national

7)a higher calling

8)not driven from office due to a potential scandal or gross impropriety or illegality (all ethics complaints were dismissed)

9)Sarah did not resign in defeat; instead in her speech she emphasized and focused on what she had accomplished in office

10)Sarah enjoyed her job as governor and found it fulfilling; the job itself did not ruin her health or become life-threatening.

BTW… Letterman’s ratings beat Conan again last week…

Ratings? They depend on guests, the strength of the lead in, and a multiplicity of other factors.

You people really showed him!

“You people?” Really? Sounds like what it it – the paranoid rant of a feeble mind. Calling a group of people “you people” shows you lack the capacity to accurately describe the groups component parts.

You people really showed him!

Good enough for a second mention…
Has Letterman made any more foul references to the children of conservative politicians? No.
Have other so-called comics made similar jokes? No.
Did he have to apologize for his crass behavior? Yes, although he did it poorly, and later mocked his apology.
Did he, in all likelyhood, endure presure from his sponsors, and his business partners, after the outcry from conservatives? Yes.

Sounds like we were in fact, pretty effective.
