As an American citizen married to an Oriental (now naturalized) whose children were born abroad, I fully recognize the importance of this issue.

First the documents issued by the American Embassy of the country that they were born in are in safe keeping and they have been provided notarized copies for their records. Without these documents they can be deported if laws were strictly enforced.

Therefore, the issue for President Obama revolve around his mother and father(s) (????) travels and lifestyle. If born abroad, immigration laws apply. Not all countries acknowledge the birth of a child whose parents are of different nationalities (one being a U.S. citizen) the same. Some do not recognize the parents citizenship nor recognize the U.S. parent as the dominate one to determine actual citizenship.

All one has to do is check birth records of children born in Korea and Vietnam during the conflicts. If the proper procedures were not followed and documents received the child remains a citizen of the country where they were born.

Therefore, registering a birth in the U.S. is one way of overcoming those laws, to change a childs citizenship, and hope no one raise the question.

<blockquote>owever, I am not surprised that the legion of doubters are throwing out defect after defect to discredit the document in a knee jerk reaction.</blockquote>

Spotting the defects in it, is a "knee jerk reaction". It was fairly obvious someone was paying with the birthers, but it took skeptics to do the critical thinking on it that the birthers should have been doing.

And since it was a hoax, the critics were the ones who were right, the birthers should be thanking them for it and for doing their work for them.

Instead, for spotting it for the fake it is, the birthers seem to actually be upset that people saw it was a fake, and call that a "knee jerk reaction". The knee jerk reaction was the birthers getting all excited over a fake and a hoax, yet again.

From the headlines I just posted pro and con argument going on Logistic’s Monster’s post on this subject,

Dr Evil on August 3, 2009 at 8:58 AM</blockquote>
This is why birthers are laughed at and derided...even after all the posts showing this to be a hoax...you still go for the foolish lie.
Let's see, Republic of Kenya did not exist, and I suppose you don't know about the Dutch watermark (I will let you find that out yourself), along with a soap reference, 047-44 reference, no doctor listed, oh my.

I'm not bothered by the Republic did not exist argument. I'm going to assume that the forger knew what he was doing and created this thing to look like documents that were being issued at that time....

It would be relatively simple to get this right. Go to Kenya, find someone who is 47, get a copy of his birth certificate, and duplicate the form. I will be highly surprised if that is the defect. However, I am not surprised that the legion of doubters are throwing out defect after defect to discredit the document in a knee jerk reaction. Orly is trying to have it authenticated. Let's wait and see.

Hey, maybe it is real. I still think Bambi was born in Hawaii, but who knows if Sr. back in '61 or '64 wanted to fake a Mombassa birth for whatever reason that he may have had back then, such as custody, jurisdiction, etc.

What was the name of the hospital in Hawaii? I am sure they would LOVE the get media exposure (BIRTHPLACE OF THE 44th PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!! National Historical Register, I hear you calling!), possibly set up tours of the birthing ward and ACTUAL ROOM that Obama was born in, put a plaque on the front door, sell tickets... Something like that...

Same same for the doctor's name? I would think he would want that in his official biography... or on his tombstone...

Just show me the long form... I know what hospital I was born in AND my doctor's name, and that was 50 years ago this month... And I don't know where "he" was born...

So spotting a forgery makes people "obots" if it does not support the pet theory?

Debunking nonsense like that is good no matter who is doing it, no matter who is is against. I am not going to support things like that, just because I do not like Obama.

Was it wrong when Charles Johnson debunked the forgery that Dan Rather would not let go of?

From the headlines I just posted pro and con argument going on <a href="http://logisticsmonster.com/2009/08/02/has-obamas-kenyan-birth-certificate-been-found/" rel="nofollow">Logistic's Monster's</a> post on this subject, for this Kenyan Birth Certificate. Why are the OBOTS out in force to knock this one down? The legitimacy of this document doesn't intrigue me as much as The Birther Issue still being such a hot topic and the response from the OBOTS. Why bother to send out the OBOTS in force to knock down a forgery?

I believe that Barack H Obama Sr., was a British Citizen.
This reportedly - Kenyan birth certificate States B.H. Obama 26 student and he resided in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Has anyone wondered why right now, this Birther issue flaring up? Why? Is it politically advantageous to anyone? Look at the comments on this thread whether someone believes it or not, the birther issue won't die.

It brought the OBOTS out on Logistic Monster's website. Why if it is nothing bother to make an argument? Here is the argument and the response to the Kenya Birth Certificate surfaces. If any of this was true, I would only have one word to describe it <strong>"Audacity"</strong><strong> where have a I read that before GRIN

Here’s some more.

1. In was dated Feb 14, 1964 and had the designation Republic of Kenya. However that designation was not official until December 1964.

2. It’s number 44 O 47 is a bit coincidental with 44th President Obama 47 years old

3. The name EF Lavender. Earth Friendly Lavender is a detergent

4. Mombasa did not become part of Kenya until 1963. It used to be part of Zanzibar

5. The Coast General Hospital is actually called the Coast Provincial General Hospital

They Kenyan Government started to refer to Kenya as a Republic since December 13, 1963. The Kenyan constitution had already been written by that then it was consistently referred to the ‘Republic of Kenya’
Next…

2. It’s number 44 O 47 is a bit coincidental with 44th President Obama 47 years old

He is 48 in a couple of days….so it is only coincidental for 2 days!
Next…

3. The name EF Lavender. Earth Friendly Lavender is a detergent
The Surname is not unknown in Kenya. (It’s a joke name centurion….)
Next…

4. Mombasa did not become part of Kenya until 1963. It used to be part of Zanzibar

It was still referred to as Mombasa, it was leased to Britain at the time of BO’s birth.
Next…

Well as a 'birther' (actually more of an 'eligibler' since I think his Indonesian citizenship is the most likely disqualifier IMO) I have suspicions about this document - but not many of them stem from some little 'gotcha' a forger intentionally entered.

If they did that - then they wanted it to be discovered as a fake fairly easily.

I think it is a fake at this point, but not because a laundry detergent exists called 'Environmentally Friendly Lavender' or the number of the document can be broken up into pieces and arbitrarily assigned to trivia answers and minutia.

Actually I think the forger did some of that on purpose to play a hoax on the birthers. There are several little gotchas in there besides that.

Although if the birthers insist it is genuine, then they need to start referring to Obama being born in Zanzibar.

KIs this Obooba’s Kenyan birth certificate?

Akzed on August 2, 2009 at 3:21 PM</blockquote>
You meant the birth certificate for the "Republic of Kenya" when the "Republic of Kenya" didn't exist?
A forgers mistake, perfect in execution, but weak in detail. The forgerer never knew that the Republic of Kenya did not exist in 1961. It was formed late in December 1964, so even the argument that is was a reprint in 1964 is weak.
That would be like have a Lincoln penny from 1806...

<blockquote> Last year it was announced by former secretary of State Candoleeza Rice that there was tampering with the passport records of three major presidential candidates and it was investigated by the inspector general. Lt. Querl Harris was one of the suspects in passport tampering scandal. </blockquote>

You can pretty well make book that they were tampering with one of the files as primary and the other two as diversion. Since the men involved worked for a software company run by a big Obama supporter I know which one I would guess was not one of the two diversions.

<blockquote>Washington post has announced that he was cooperating with the FBI and shortly thereafter he was found dead, shot in the head, sitting in his parked car. This case remains open and unresolved. Under such circumstances, “perpetuation of evidence” becomes a more and more significant and time-sensitive issue…”

tommylotto, thanks. It's understandable that Orly wants this stuff quick- before the usually months-long wait for Obama's CAIR lawyers to respond. She cited the reason- which is chilling- if there's any connection with Lt. Harris' murder:

The proof of service is just a page tagged onto the back of other documents indicating that it has been served on the other side. I assume that the subpoena to Clinton is just a subpoena decus tecum for the production of documents. As the secretary of State, she would be the appropriate person to subpoena to get Obama's passport records... or more interestingly, the passport records of his mom and dad....
