Beck can be a loon, but so far most of the lunatic stuff he has gone off on, well it for the most part has been right. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one, and wait to see the rest of what he has found out. It certainly is not going to harm anyone to pay attention to this mess just in case he is correct.

As to whether of not there is any validity to this, I look at the types of people he has appointed to be czars, what all is in the Crap & Tax as far as government telling me what my thermostat is on, what type of light bulbs I can use, etc. And then there is the entire Death Care Bill which will tell me how long I can live, whether or not I can receive certain medical treatments, etc.

Recently, in preparation to send off the yutes to college this fall, we discovered info in a House bill which clearly indicates Obama is taking over ALL student loan entities. And I mean ALL. Heritage has info which says, next year college bound yutes will be screened by the federal government as to whether or not they should be allowed to attend college. One factor which would allow you to attend college would be if you joined Ameri-Corp. Seems like this control thing has a bit of merit to me.

To be fair to President Chutes&Ladders, Bush and the Patriot Act also took things a bit to far when it comes to the rights of the American people; there is some very scary stuff in the Patriot Act. But Obama is one dude who appears to have an ax to grind against certain Americans, and I for one would not put it past him, or his gang of Chicago thugs, to do just what Beck says regarding taking over our private info on our computers.

Sleeping with one eye open with this current government is a really good idea!

Except for the fact that congress has already established a law for two of your examples. IE, The IRS is legally approved to share such data as part of its job, same with Medicare they have explicit congressional approval.

You’re right about the NSA though. It’s military and can’t share its data with the civilian side of the government.
But I’d point out that this is NOT a military app nor run by the military.

You are right on this comment. The seniors are going to going to get the worst of this plan and I hope they are writing to their Senators and Congressmen, before this is rammed though.

Ideally that would be perfect, but you have faculty (and staff) that insist on being administrators and they just HAVE to be able to install that new game or neat software (you would be surprised how many hours faculty waste on solitaire, too. We can track usage of it through BigFix :D ) Such is life of the IT guy in academia.

Wolftech – You have TONS of sympathy from me. I used to run an IT department for a college. We had some users I called “Propellor Heads” who were exactly as you described.

We dealt with a lot of little people with big egos in little jobs. I was always wondering why my female boss would always support this one arrogant pain in the butt professor. It was clear when I walked in on him banging her in my computer room.

Anyway, keep a diary and write a book later on.
