Blaming their policy failures on Bush at this juncture will be transparently pathetic to everyone except the die hard Obama cultist that make up the base.
The people in touch with reality see a naive and arrogant administration that thinks that this represents “smart power”:

Baxter Greene on July 30, 2009 at 4:13 PM

Agreed, unless the media is part of the die hard Obama cultist group, doing all they can to lift him up as some sort of savior. Then, they ridicule anyone opposing him as either a racist or a corporate lapdog.

Basically, they are forcing the opposition into submission by making them feel inferior to those agreeing with Obama. That is the reason why people can't see the transparent, pathetic Bush-blaming as a problem... the media tells them it's okay.

I’m not convinced that Obama and his supporters are bashing Bush as much as they are quite rightfully reminding people that our current economic mess and the wars were inherited from the Bush administration

Can someone please explain the difference to me?

Voters have short memories. The administration needs to remind people that things were way worse over the last four years than in the last six months.

She implies that all of you are idiots who can’t remember what life was like three or four years ago.

Will Clinton??? Who's that?

Every time I see that photo of Obama, I am reminded of what a great game show host he would be. Doesn't require any skill or experience, just smooth blahblahblah. No one gets hurt.

When the only tool in your toolbox is a hammer, you tend to look at every problem as a nail.

saiga on July 30, 2009 at 1:50 PM

Its funny, when the presidential debates were going on, McCain stated that he thought we should stop all gov't programming (except vet care and a couple other things) and go through everything and clean it up.

Obama's response was that McCain wanted to take a sledgehammer to a problem where only a scalpel was needed.

I want to know where his scalpel is now?

veteranoutrage:

Bush tried to deal with the Fannie Mae situation and Congress blocked him, more than a dozen times. However, once the system collapsed in September 2008 they passed a lot of the reforms he wanted and let the Feds take control of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Just like the whole issue of social security, people in the Congress and much of the country did not want to hear that we needed reform. Republicans by and large did not support a lot of the excesses of these programs, but it can be argued they did not do enough to reign them in...even when a Republican President was urging them to do so.

So, I think that Congress needs a lot more of the blame than it gets.

And also there were larger forces at work here. This down turn was global and had a lot to do with world energy prices. So blaming one man is kind of ridiculous no matter who the one man is.

I actually take the middle road
I do NOT totally absolve president bush for he allowed
this to get out of hand by taking an hands off approach.

This is the captialist way (to just let the market work).
But they FORGOT that GREED KILLS.
And man did it ever..

NOW obama and the dems are also way off base.
They Cant remember Why communist russia failed.
Because of COMMUNISM..

I know because i work with russians and they told me so.

So the democrats and the liberals are so high on drugs
they honestly believe that they can make
COMMUNISM WORK!!!

Sorry so far communism 0 capitalism 50 (countries so far)..
The others are a mix of socialism with various degrees of sucess..

But still it is MORE the democrats fault by 60% to the Republicans 40%

This is why i am so PISSED OFF AT MY SO CALLED PARTY..

Democratic Party strategist Liz Chadderdon said the strategy of blaming the previous team has been effective.

Yea, back when ....you know...Bush was actually President.

Not so much now:

By more than 3-to-1 Americans think it is time for the Obama administration to start taking responsibility (64 percent) instead of continuing to blame the Bush administration for mistakes (21 percent).
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/05/14/fox-news-poll-americas-best-days-ahead-obama-approval-remains-steady/

Obama wanted to be a Paparazzi President and have his face on TV every 5 minutes.
Well the press has been more than happy to oblige him with this.It also ensures that everything that is going on right now has his face attached to it also.
Obama and his buddy Gibbs earlier this month said this economy was theirs. After quadrupling the deficit, raising taxes, and declaring a "war on business",they have effectively driven off business and job growth.

Blaming their policy failures on Bush at this juncture will be transparently pathetic to everyone except the die hard Obama cultist that make up the base.
The people in touch with reality see a naive and arrogant administration that thinks that this represents "smart power":

Hello......Hello.......Hello,
is there anybody in there.
Just nod if you can hear me,
is there anyone at all???????????????????????

Unemployment is in double digits,Deficits in the trillions,Taxes going sky high,The Dollar becoming null and void,Foreign investors pulling out of America,GM,Chrysler, and Banks being taken over by the government ,and the President has this to say about his failed stimulus:

That is why I have moved quickly to work with my economic team and leaders of both parties on an American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan that will immediately jumpstart job creation and long-term growth. …
There is no doubt that the cost of this plan will be considerable. It will certainly add to the budget deficit in the short-term. But equally certain are the consequences of doing too little or nothing at all, for that will lead to an even greater deficit of jobs, incomes, and confidence in our economy. It is true that we cannot depend on government alone to create jobs or long-term growth, but at this particular moment, only government can provide the short-term boost necessary to lift us from a recession this deep and severe.

The federal government is estimated to run a 2009 budget deficit of $1.845 trillion. While it is true that President George W. Bush handed President Barack Obama a $1,186 billion deficit for the year...

Complete BULLSHIT! President Bush handed the nation a proposed deficit of $407 BILLION. The Democrat-controlled rush-it prematurely-ejaculatory CONGRESS enacted a TARP program (not currently being used as described in the enabling legislation) of $787 BILLION.

Simple math: -407 + (-787) = -1,194 OR, expressed as a budget figure, $1.194 TRILLION DEFICIT caused by a Blame Bush Congress of Democrat majority. If anyone wants to agree with me that the Democrats did this in order to continue to Blame Bush for political gain in periods later than October, 2008, feel free to do so.

Of passing interest: the current deficit, $1,194, is 2.934 times greater than President Bush's original proposed budgetary deficit - nearly THREE TIMES the originally proposed deficit and NOT being used for its original legislatively mandated intent. The Democrat sales "add on" exceeded the original budget by 1.934 times; the TARP legislation added nearly twice the original proposed budget deficit.

The reason DEMOCRATS demanded that the TARP legislation be passed willy-nilly without reading or discussion? It was a built-in argument to continue to blame President Bush and absolve Obama of any future failure regarding budgetary discipline and planning.

I call BULLSHIT on this statement: "The federal government is estimated to run a 2009 budget deficit of $1.845 trillion. While it is true that President George W. Bush handed President Barack Obama a $1,186 billion deficit for the year, ..." and use the this summary to validate my remarks.

Democratic Party strategist Liz Chadderdon said the strategy of blaming the previous team has been effective.

“I think Bush-bashing has been alive and well since ‘07 and, since it keeps working, why not use it?” she said. “Voters have short memories. The administration needs to remind people that things were way worse over the last four years than in the last six months.”

Oh really? Bush's tenure looks more like the good old days every freaking day.

The administration needs to remind people that things were way worse over the last four years than in the last six months.”

Reality check you liberal dumba$$:

I just got done with my last quarter of taxes for my business.

Under Bush my rates were between 38% to 42%.

After taxes and other expenses I bring home between $130,000 to $170,000 a year.

This last quarter my tax rate was 57%.
That's right you stupid blood sucking idiot liberals.

I have no "cash for clunkers",my Avalanche is worth a lot more than $4,500.

I have no "unemployment",I work for a living.

I have no "money to pay for a mortgage default",I made my house payments.

I have no "Free health care",I pay for my own.

I have no "money to pay off credit card debt",we don't use credit cards.

I have no "money for a car loan default",we made our car payments.

So in reality none of these tax increases have helped my family what-so-ever.
I am taking it straight up the gazo for the people who bought homes, cars, and used credit cards that they could not afford. This much of an increase in my tax rate would not be necessary to help out people who are victims of losing their jobs BUT ARE ACTIVELY SEEKING OTHER WORK.

I have watched business after business go under these last few months and now am seeing my business being sucked dry and these idiots want to blame it on Bush.

Kiss my a$$ you socialist jerks.

I have no “cash for clunkers”,my Avalanche is worth a lot more than $4,500.

I have no “unemployment”,I work for a living.

I have no “money to pay for a mortgage default”,I made my house payments.

I have no “Free health care”,I pay for my own.

I have no “money to pay off credit card debt”,we don’t use credit cards.

I have no “money for a car loan default”,we made our car payments.

Obama is a colossal failure, once people being to realize bankrupting this country at a faster rate then Bush, we'll start hearing cries of impeachment.

I’d settle for the day when a politician left DC when they left office. Now they all stay and become lobbyists.

highhopes on July 30, 2009 at 2:05 PM

We can make a law to enforce that... it might be what it takes.

Someone yesterday played clips from two town halls same day of The One back to back. Only the brain dead would but his bullshit.
In one clip he blames GW for the deficit because of the 767 billion TARP in Oct. In the second speech he takes credit for the 767 Billion and claims it stopped a recession from turning into a depression
This is the dumbest guy ever to be POTUS.
