Unnatural Positions

posted at 12:15 pm on July 29, 2009 by Dafydd ab Hugh

I found this juxtaposition fascinating — in a horrifying sort of way. First, we certainly can’t talk to those scheming Honduran diplomats… they represent the coup leaders:

The U.S. government said Tuesday it has revoked the diplomatic visas of four Honduran officials, stepping up pressure on coup-installed leaders who insist they can resist international demands to restore the ousted president.

The U.S. State Department did not name the four, but a Honduran official said they included the Supreme Court magistrate who ordered the arrest of ousted President Manuel Zelda and the president of Honduras’ Congress.

The State Department is also reviewing the visas of all officials serving under interim President Roberto Micheletti, department spokesman Ian Kelly said.

(How dare the Honduran Supreme Court rule according to the Honduran constitution, rather than sit quietly and wait for instructions from the One They Have Been Waiting For!)

But of course, we can’t simply refuse to talk to people; that would be puerile and unproductive:

A concerted effort to start unprecedented talks between Taliban and British and American envoys was outlined yesterday in a significant change in tactics designed to bring about a breakthrough in the attritional, eight-year conflict in Afghanistan.

Senior ministers and commanders on the ground believe they have created the right conditions to open up a dialogue with “second-tier” local leaders now the Taliban have been forced back in a swath of Helmand province.

Oh, I know, I know; it seems just a tad inconsistent:

  • Refusing even to allow into the United States diplomats and officials from one of the most pro-American countries in Central America, because they refused to sit idly while a Cuba- and Venezuela-backed wannabe dictator unilaterally and illegally changed the constitution to allow him to become President for Life;
  • And then turning around and opening a diplomatic initiative with the terrorist group that (a) was fully complicit in the September 11th attacks, and that (b) we ousted in a — well, not exactly a coup; in our case, we used a full military invasion to institute regime change. (See? Totally different.)

It may seem inconsistent, hypocritical, hysterical, adolescent, cement-headed, awkward, slovenly, ad-hominem, and amateurish… but appearances can be deceiving: Perhaps President Barack H. Obama is just living by the motto that defines his life: Keep your enemies close, and your mortal enemies actually in bed with you.

But then again, maybe the president is signalling that he now has second thoughts about the war of Christianist aggression in Afghanistan, started by a previous administration. Maybe this is the first step towards demanding that the current illegal “government” of that country disband, fly to the Hague, and surrender themselves… so that the legitimate government of 2001 and prior can retake its rightful place in Kabul.

I understand that later this year, the president plans to send Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Special-Olympics Spokesman Joe “Litella” Biden to South Korea to share a beer with President Lee Myung-bak and PM Han Seung-soo — then deliver a long and serious lecture about dissolving the South Korean entity and making amends for their war of imperialist aggression against their northern brothers 59 years ago.

Of course, the keystone of un-doing the imperialist regime-changing activity of the last 20 years would be to re-install the righful government of the former USSR, which fell due to unjustified meddling by the US.

After this is complete, the un-unification of Germany can occur, Czechoslovakia can be re-incarnated, and Poland can return to it’s natural state.

The wheels of Communism will turn……

Actually, I think this is some sort of strategy by Obama in hopes that the North Koreans will kidnap Biden, like they did with the two female reporters for Al Gore’s TV network. But if that did work for some reason “The Ransom of Red Chief” comes to mind.

As for Obama’s foreign policy, it’s pretty much do everything the opposite of what Bush did, but only in what you consider non-critical areas — i.e., he and his people are smart enough to know in Iraq and Afghanistan fall apart and/or there’s a new terrorist attack on U.S. interests, they’ll have to divert all of that $$$ they’re planning to put into social programs back into the military. But in places where they think their leftist ideology won’t immediately come back to bite them, like in Honduras, they have no problem backing the former leader’s efforts to return to power, even when it’s obvious he wants to be president for life.

So, apparently, the Left’s excuse for backing Zalaya is that, if he obeyed the law, he couldn’t have stayed president even after the amendment, and that the constitutional article he was in violation of was put in by evil military masterminds in order to control the government.

This is good stuff on one level because I’m convinced that hillary is going to run against barry in 2012. No matter who wins that primary race, the winner will still own this stuff. Unless hillary makes a stand pretty soon and gets out of this administration there will be lots more stuff to hang on her as the democrat candidate for president.

Hehe. You think Hillary Clinton would take a stand on THIS? An evil white woman trying to impose her will on a black man and his swarthy Third World friend? And even worse, she’d be co-opting a bunch of turncoat Uncle Toms into helping her impose her imperialistic will on poor, helpless South American freedom fighters.

Yeah. That wouldn’t fit the liberal definition of “racist” at all. I’m sure the media would carry her to the ballot box on their shoulders if she did that.

According to Whitehouse staffers, President Obama is said to be horrified that a sitting President can be removed from office for Constitutional violations. Claims one anonymous source, the President asked, “Can they really hold him to his Oath of Office? No one takes that seriously!”

More news at 11…

Things like this just boil my blood. While the actions on the Afghan side, are ridiculous, and wrong-headed, I can see the perspective that they have. However knowing that they have the facts available to them, and that they may have reacted prematurely with initial statements, it is appalling that they haven’t corrected their stance on Zalaya.

It is sort of like how I feel about the crazy manor in which they decided to split up control of GM, this issue is truly telling about who they really are. If you tell me that you don’t want to control a company, but you give yourself a sweet deal in order to do so, I hear your actions and know the truth. If you obstinately support a would be dictator, ousted by the legal and elected government in accordance with their constitution, I am given further glimpses into the truth of who you are. It’s a picture that frankly, scares me.

hillbillyjim on July 29, 2009 at 3:59 PM

As someone who a member of the oppo-research team for one of the Republican candidates during the last election cycle, I have been studying Obama(& others)for the better part of two years. While racial grievances are part and parcel of the Obama agenda with a heavy dose of socialist/new-agey collectivism, the root core I thinks stems from a broader perspective of perceived hemispherical oppression. Namely the subjugation of southern peoples by their northern counterparts. This not so incidentally also tends to be the equatorial divider of thge lighter & darker races.

That oppressive subjugation did not arise with the explosive northern population growth of the medieval-optimum (AD 950-1400), and indeed had been the rule rather than the exception amongst the already established societies of the south, does not enter into Obama’s calculus. It is a matter of historical fact that most every feat of accomplishment from Machu Pichu to The Great Library of Alexandria was borne upon the backs of conscripted labor.

As demonstrated by his sponsorship of S.2433 (The Global Poverty Act of 2007)the scope of his grand scheme is not so much to “redistribute the wealth” within the borders of the US. But in collaboration with Soros’ Open Society, shift the prosperity of the Industrial Nations primarily centered in Europe and N. America to subjugated peoples of the south.

He Does not believe that merely showering northern largesse on the south alone will propel them up to western standards of living to create the “equality” he seeks. So through deliberate obstacles like “Cap & Trade” and the hindrance on productivity of federally empowered unions he seeks to retard western advancement.

This type of thinking was revealed by his answer to Charlie Gibson during the democratic primary debate that even if it hampered his efforts’ to accomplish the greater good through reduced tax revenues, his primary concern was to punish the successful in the interest of what he perceived as “fairness.”

In the view of Barack and his like minded leftist brethren, Capitalism is the mechanism employed to repress the southern races. Their tool of preference to remedy this is a cobbling together of a Corporate/Collectivist model to implement a constraining Eco-Fascism on the developed west.

To achieve this end he must first develop a methodology to rein in the chaotic dynamism of individualist capitalism, ie; small business. The tools he has found to accomplish this end are the onerous burdens represented by his Cap & Trade and Mandated Healthcare plans.
This why we see this administration’s coziness with Corporate titans like G.E. and Goldman Sachs, giants such as these and their kind are close to the administration and are literally in the room to curry favor and exemptions that Mom & Pop operations across the nation will never hope to get. Allowances granted to the Mega-Corporations will justified under the rubric of “systemic risk.”

This shotgun marriage of Big Government/Big Labor/Big Business after imposing their will of having control of your employment, health & energy usage and elimination of available options other than themselves will leave the public beholden on them for subsistence or locked out of the system with no other alternatives.

With favoritism showered on the few who’s co-operation was necessary to assume absolute control, the Big Three mentioned above, deprivations will be exacted, justified and denied with Orwellian measures and the same Big Three will be unleashed to exploit, or “develop” our southern neighbors in the name of benevolence.

Thus the all-knowing and wise cadre of leftist authoritarians will have accomplished their aim of parity and fairness for all. Equal Eco-poverty, Eco-desitution, and Eco-subjugation for all peoples!
