NEW YORK, July 28 (Reuters) – Shorter-dated U.S. Treasury debt fell on Tuesday after weak results at a record $42 billion auction of two-year notes cast doubt on global appetite for U.S. government debt.

The poor two-year note sale heightened worries of soft demand for subsequent auctions this week and the August refunding in two weeks, analysts and investors said.

“Everything about the two-year auction was disappointing. That put into question the five-year and seven-year debt sales later this week,” said Todd White, portfolio manager at RiverSource Investment in Minneapolis.

Don’t let that kind of heresy get out there. We might have a revolt on our hands. We’ve been handing out free lunches for years. The trouble is, the eaters could care less about the makers of the lunch–just so long as they keep providin’ the lunch, we straight, as BHO would say.

Democrats embody that stock comedy routine in which someone is so hell-bent-for-leather on sticking with his way of doing things that he endure any amount of hardship and misfortune before admitting he’s dead wrong.

But what can conservatives do? Sixty percent of independents are apparently experiencing profound buyer’s remorse. But Dems can stick their noses in the air and tell independents, “We won, and elections have consequences.”

Sigh.

What really pisses me off is the AARP who could cares less about the members and have become nothing more than a lobbyist for socialism. As it Obamacare stands not, seniors have the most to lose in care, regardless of who pays.

My mother quit the AARP because of their support for Obama. What was to be a bipartisan group, has become a cheerleading squad for socialism.

My hubby is eligible for AARP membership this year. He will decline, and let them know why. As will I, when my turn comes around. That is, if they’re still around.
