Hillary: We’re totally going to stop Iran from getting the bomb, I swear
posted at 6:41 pm on July 27, 2009 by Allahpundit
Bookmark this now because when the day comes that Iran rattles its nuclear saber, the only grim consolation we’ll have will be compiling past statements of moronic false bravado like this. And no, Bush won’t be spared.
A case of Hillary going rogue and making threats The One’s not prepared to support? If you believe Jim Hoagland, no:
The president believes that Iran is developing a nuclear-weapons capability through its current U.N.-opposed uranium enrichment program, a senior official told me this month, and he will not accept Iran achieving the ability to make a bomb quickly from the stockpile it is accumulating.
The apparent solution: Stick and carrot, with the stick coming in the form of a U.S. “defense umbrella” over the entire Persian Gulf — which theoretically would involve us in a nuclear war to defend, er, Saudi Arabia — and the carrot in the form of the U.S. military releasing people like Mahmud Farhadi, one of the Quds Force’s top commanders in Iraq and therefore a man with the blood of possibly hundreds of American soldiers on his hands. And so we learn a hard lesson here: When The One told us he was ready to negotiate with Iran without preconditions, he evidently didn’t mean preconditions Iran might demand of the U.S.

Obama will do nothing about Iran, and there is nothing he can do, short of invading and occupying, and that is not an option. Bush did nothing, Obama will do nothing, and Israel has done nothing and will continue to do nothing. Iran will get the bomb, just like Pakistan has it. And the world will go on. Unless, of course, you believe in Revelations, in which case, everything is already preordained, so nothing can be done. Either way, Iran gets the bomb.

What some people here may not understand is that if Israel perceives an existential threat, it’s a threat to the survival of Judaism itself. After what happened in WWII, “never again” is not just a slogan. Never again will Jews put their survival in the hands of non-jews. So that is why Iran and Obama are playing with fire imo. Although frankly, I would have expected the Iranians to understand that.

And if the Iranians do build a bomb, by gosh Obama is going to send them a really nasty note!
GarandFan on July 27, 2009 at 6:59 PM
Nailed it. We’re badly off enough trying to rebuild two nations formerly run by Islamist dictators and their cronies…trying to do “Iraq 2″ would have been a total disaster, even under Bush, as he at least would’ve had the spine to consider it.
Now, about the best we can hope for is for a rogue asteroid to flatten that bunch of bloodthirsty camel jockeys. Israel’s very survival is already in a precarious situation thanks to that halfrican loon and the crowds of anti-Semetic nutcases crawling out of the woodwork. Even a successful strike would bring a horde of filth charging the front gates to make Helms Deep look favorable.
And – need it be said? – under this administration, there is practically nothing that would make them speak the language of brute force, the only one that Iran listens to.
Dark-Star on July 27, 2009 at 6:59 PM

Or maybe the wise son-of-a-Kenyan will not accept them making a bomb quickly, but let them do it slowly, so the next President can deal with it.

I suspect the Iranian nuke issue will be resolved by then. If Israel attacks before Iran has the bomb, I assume they will use conventional weapons. I don’t believe for one second that Obama has the balls (in fact I’m not convinced he doesn’t actually WANT Iran to get the bomb) to attack Iran. Which leaves Israel to do it. After which all hell would break loose.
We’re reduced to hoping IRAN isn’t stupid enough …
I can’t see a good outcome to this.

That’s where you went wrong. Israel knows that as soon as the kooks in Iran get the bomb working it will soon be deployed against them. Those preaching genocide and holding the means to effect it – will do so. Olmert did nothing but Bibi will do something. At this point Israel is alone but she will defend herself.

Upon further reflection, I have to wonder…is this just another libtard flip-flop…or does Shrillary & Co. happen to know something we don’t? Like, maybe, a nuclear threat against the USA that’s this close from resulting in a mushroom cloud? The imminent threat of death is a surefire way of yanking people’s heads out of the sand – could that be the case here?

I’m one who believes in real action. All the talk during the Clinton and Obama administrations and most of the Bush administration has been counter productive. Doing nothing including not talking would have been better than what we did do.

One, Iran has a deliverable weapon.
Two, Israel has made the decision that Iran will not deliver that weapon.
Oh, and third…the rest of the world can piss off.
coldwarrior on July 27, 2009 at 9:28 PM
If you’re trying to “change the calculus” in Iran, you have to do more than make vague, “it’s unacceptable” threats. Whatever she thinks her threat was previously, she completely undercut it with statements that demonstrate that the administration HAS NO PLAN.
It’s like watching a junior varsity co-ed trying to play in the major leagues. Face-in-palm. We’re all f*ck’d.

You know? Bill Clinton was the architect of the wonderful wonderful program that allowed American Companies and the US Defense Dept to hand off the launch of rockets with classified technology to China … because it was cheaper, or so they said. China happily crashed the rockets with their satellite payloads on teh launch pads where they roped off access until they had stripped them of every useful piece of advanced technology. I was much younger then, but I clearly remember throwing up when I read the news that we were GOING to allow this and then again when China “botched” the launch and the American companies were prevented from recovering the equipment. The Clintons and I have never been on good terms since.
So. When Hillary Clinton says anything pretending to sound like she gives a rat’s ass about our defense or that keeps us at a technological advantage over our enemies – no offense to China – love that Kung Pao chicken, k? – I want to throw up. She is a liar. Her boss is a liar. Her husband is a liar.
No really. Don’t hold back. Tell us how you ACTUALLY feel.
I honestly believe that if it were up to Clinton she would sell Iran our own Nukes calling them surplus and she’d spin it as a brilliant move to pay down our deficit. Part of me cringes at every cruelty Obama heaps on her because he’s a misogynistic ass doing it for his own personal pleasure and part of me knows she deserves it. I imagine this is what hell must be like.

Earth to Hillary:
Does it look like Iran gives a sh!t what you,Obama, the UN,or anybody else has to say.
They have been slaughtering there own people in the streets on a daily basis for the mere fact that they want their vote to count.
They rape their women before they execute them.
They hang people for being gay (even though dinner jacket said they had no gay people in Iran).
They have made it clear that they want to destroy Israel.
The coming of the 12th Iman is what there leadership cares about, not blabbering faux tough talk from a liberal administration that’s sole foreign policy is to apologize to everybody.
The fact that Hillary is starting to sound like Bush now is not going to mean squat to the mullah’s.
Yea,we can keep a record of what Hillary is saying now.
The MSM will just ignore it like they did the 10 years of democrats like Hillary,Biden,Kerry and the rest of the liberals that told America how dangerous Saddam was with his WMD’s/ties to al-qaeda then accused Bush of lying to the Nation for saying the same thing.
One of the main priorities of being a democrat is never being held responsible for the position you held the day before.
