Birthermania: House Democrat to introduce resolution on Obama being born in Hawaii
posted at 6:04 pm on July 27, 2009 by Allahpundit
Another time-wasting resolution in the House, but unlike McCotter’s, this one’s at least smart politics. How many Republicans will choke on it?
The measure Abercrombie will introduce commemorates the 50th anniversary of Hawaii’s statehood. But here’s the rub, his spokesman tells me: It describes Hawaii as Barack Obama’s birthplace.
“In the language of the resolution, there is a statement that Hawaii is the birthplace of the 44th President of the United States,” Abercrombie spokesman Dave Helfert confirms.
That confronts House GOPers with a choice: They can vote for the measure, and endorse the idea that Obama was born in Hawaii, which could earn the wrath of birthers. Or they can vote against commemorating the 50th state’s joining of our blessed Union. Or GOPers can skip the vote, but that could look nutty.
“Far be it from us to try to stir things up,” Helfert said puckishly.
Dude, what if Ron Paul votes yes? Would that mean Birtherism’s too kooky even for the rEVOLution? Exit question: There’s going to be a full-fledged “Produce the Birth Certificate” third party once 2012 rolls around, isn’t there? And when they’re not allowed to participate in any of the televised debates, they’re going to whine forever.

So now this apparently has become an argument over the meaning of my handle?
Which has nothing to do with the Service and everything to do with Phish.
Go find the announcement I made for every birther stuck on this very important point about my handle.
(BTW – the fact that you birthers are now ignoring the valid COLB (which no birther has refuted) and are attacking me is the suggestive of the fact that you have nothing to support your “theories.”)

Well… Im a retired CPO… and I think most, if not all, Lts still have a lot to learn…
Of course… I also once worked on an Adm. staff… staff pukes, so that may have colored my opinion…
Now, I do still think my oath is in effect, to protect and defend the constitution, against all enemies Foreign AND DOMESTIC… so maybe that colors my view of this Constitutional question as well.

Birthers: FOCUS
The argument is about this COLB, which you have not refuted or invalidated, but are claiming is “not enough” or “invalid” or “fraudulent.”
It is not about Good LTs or Bad Cpls or namecalling or my handle and it’s profound meaning for the conservative movement or…whatever. You lost track of what the thread topic is because you’ve all still presented exactly zero evidence supporting your conspiracy theories, and hence, are unmoored from reality.
Tough staying focused through all the schoolyard insults, isn’t it?

What is required according to state laws is that the candidate for president sign a legal document saying they are a natural-born citizen and meet the other requirements to be eligible to be president. Obama did that at least twice. Those are legal documents. If he lied on them he is guilty of multiple cases of perjury.
It is within the jurisdiction of law enforcement to check vital documents if there is just reason to suspect a crime.
Intent to deceive is indicated by his posting a forged COLB online and then repeatedly referencing it as being real.
Audio tapes of Sarah Obama saying she was there at Obama’s birth and of Ambassador Ogego saying Obama’s birthplace in Kenya is well-known indicate that the information he gave is suspect.
And his conflicting statements about which hospital he was born at – including a signed letter he sent to Kapiolani Hospital on White House stationery with raised seal – indicate that he doesn’t even have his own testimony internally consistent.
At this point law enforcement should be able to get a warrant to look at all his documentation and find out if crimes have been committed.
This isn’t political. This is an issue of potential criminal behavior. Law enforcement has no excuse to ignore this.

You have one argument and it relies on you never, EVER having to consider that online images alone can’t be trusted to prove anything.
I hate to say it, but you seem incredibly gullible to me.
And for someone who wants to be in on the debate you sure have no interest in actually addressing content.
Do you understand that there is a difference between presenting a 3D legal document to a judge and showing your thingy to some friends and having them photograph it, enlarge it, and then post it online?

Lawsuits have been filed. But I can’t file a criminal lawsuit. I can’t throw anybody in jail. The FBI is SUPPOSED to be investigating this, according to a request by a US senator. But last I knew they were holding up the whole process.
If I was a US attorney would I have a valid reason to investigate potential perjury? Is your gripe with us because we’re not law enforcement personnel and we’re wanting law enforcement to do their jobs? I just don’t get what your gripe is.

All we have are images and “broadcasts.” None of use, save the three “alleged astronauts” were actually “allegedly” there.
Did Georgw Washington actually sign the Declartaion or Independence? Nobody alive was there to see him do it or to verify that it happened. All we have are “stories” and “history” and “primary documents.”
Now, have you shown why this is not a document that can be considered valid?
If not, then get to work.

You’re now basing your argument on the integrity of lawyers.
Your case is really hurting now, Squid Shark.
But then, what else do you have?
1)A COLB image that’s not legal documentation for anything and shows signs of forgery.
2)Tape recordings of Grandma and Ambassador saying Obama was born in Kenya.
3)Two different hospitals Obama has said he was born in.
4) A selective service registration shown to be false because the manual serial stamp doesn’t match the manipulated electronic record – actually says it was printed in 08, not 80.
5) A registration form for an Indonesian school saying Barry Soetoro is a Muslim Indonesian citizen, the son of Lolo Soetoro.
6) Signed legal documents where Obama says he’s eligible to be president.
Seems like 1-5 call #6 a lie.
And seems like that’s A-OK with you.
justincase on July 27, 2009 at 10:17 PM

Good Lt on July 27, 2009 at 10:18 PM
The resolution is irrelevant where Obama was born, frankly, is irrelevant (I happen to believe he was born in HI). What is very, very relevant is why he has refused to produce the long form birth certificate — yes, he is hiding something (no, not where he was born, but something) and that something totally contradicts his b.s. “narrative/bio” is & that proves what a lying sack of sh!t he is. IMO we should all be screaming for the release of all of Obama’s records (birth, school transcripts, medical records).

Yeah just because the name of the “Institute” is old money that is not going to make me trust it more, I would probably be more skeptical of their methods, just like ratings organizations, just like right and left media matters organizations, they cherry pick and slant the issues dicussed, sweat the small stuff and glance over the big stuff, frame the argument the way they want to frame it not really the entire story. That said I don’t think that they are hiding an immigrant President, they are just doing a superficial investigation while not answering all of your questions, because ignorants nod their head and decide that the issue is settled due to the superficial investigation, even though they did not answer all your questions, because they know it burns you guys up so much that they can rub it in your face like that with their smug responses.

Good Lt on July 27, 2009 at 10:20 PM
“They have, and have examined the “tampering”

This is why skeptics say Birthers and 9-11 Truthers are one and the same besides the fact that both movements share the same leaders).
Same pattern, different conspiracy.
Demand investigations (McCain’s staff did one, for example, as did several media outlets) and documents. Receive both, then deny they actually provided the answers they were looking for or claim there are just “many more questions.” Demand “another investigation.”
Rinse, lather, repeat forever.
Good Lt on July 27, 2009 at 10:28 PM
Good Lt, you are absolutely unbelievable. Factcheck (who did the forgery in the first place) is a legal investigation?
They don’t explain how they got a 2008 border on a document supposedly printed in 2007. They don’t explain how they got the seal to stay round when the paper folded. They don’t explain how the line of print disappeared when they photographed the “seal” in relief.
They don’t address the signs of forgery because they are the ones who did it.
We don’t usually let the accused investigate themselves and consider it good.
Is that what you’re asking me to do? Good heavens!
justincase on July 27, 2009 at 10:29 PM
1. The COLB pictures on Fact Check are different now, so that document seems to be legit. No Birthers rejoice and say move on.
2. Report of BC being destroyed seems to be wrong, they have those paper records prior to 2001. Birthers rejoice.
3. COLB were and are given to people not born and people born in Hawaii. Birthers rejoice.
4. Obama did travel to Pakistan in 81. What passport did he use? Birthers rejoice.
5. There are those that could have video of Obama coming out with Maui in the back ground and say its crap. There are those that could have video of terrorist get in the cockpit and flying plains into the WTC and say its crap. I would say that at least 80% of birthers would move on with Long Form BC. Birthers rejoice, no birthers say crap.
You know I believe Obama was probably born in Hawaii. And I would like for us to move on. But I do question a few things, because if the table was turn, Hell Harry Reid would be out there pushing it. 1. Why spend so much money in court. Some say he would still have to because of the Nutcases that would keep going. Ok, I say whats the difference between $1,000,000.00 or $1,000,012.00. 2. How did he travel to Pakistan in 81, if we were giving out Passport to there. Or were we.
This is an easy theory to put to bed for about 80% I bet. I think he does not do it for fun, the man is crazy. Releasing LF BC proves what both sides believe.
And for all my fellow no birthers, you have to admit, a COLB is not a LF BC. Its just not, so don’t embarrass your self either.

No! No! No!
When I want to find out what Sarah Obama said, I listen to the tape of what Sarah Obama said. Now I don’t speak Swahili so I have to trust that her grandson who was translating for her was acting in good faith when he said that she said she was there when Obama was born.
Of course, when someone repeated back to him what he just said he called himself a liar (or Sarah, maybe. Good thing for him he was speaking English ’cause if Sarah had heard him call her a liar she might have had a thing or two to say to him!).
Are you saying that he mistranslated Sarah’s words so that she said she was there when she really said she wasn’t? If so, what is your evidence for saying that?
See, more than anything, you need to understand that evidence-based arguments are the only ones that matter to most of us here – or at least the ones who are engaging with the evidence.

If you’re referring to the repetitiveness of citing links and evidence that have not been refuted, it is because NO BIRTHERS HAVE REFUTED ANYTHING I’M ASKING THEM TO REFUTE.
Hence, there is no “there” there, and the thread then devolves into discussions about my internet handle, schoolyard insults, dismissal by people who have not supported their claims with evidence, etc.
Over and over and over. Repetition is necessary because nobody is refuting the evidence. Therefore, it must be repeated and focused on.

RightWinged on July 27, 2009 at 10:41 PM
You’re opposing this, and that has been released.
So what else are YOU bringing to the table?
Goodnite, dear Birthers.
Remember, the troof is out there.

Bill O’Reilly covered this tonight – said he investigated and it is just unfounded.
Obama was born in Hawaii and he is 100% kosher.
So we didn’t vote for him and we didn’t support him, but he’s there for the rest of his term, period.
Time to move on to 2012.
AprilOrit on July 27, 2009 at 10:43 PM
One more time, in plain caps-ed English.
THE CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH IS A VALID FOR THE PURPOSES OF CITIZENSHIP AND NATURAL BORN CITIZENSHIP VERIFICATION (A BIRTHER CONCERN), INCLUDING FOR THE PRESIDENCY (A BIRTHER CONCERN).
THE EXISTENCE OF A LONG-FORM BC (A BIRTHER CONCERN) IS IRRELEVANT TO THE VALIDITY OF THE COLB (NOT A BIRTHER CONCERN), WHICH HAS BEEN PRODUCED AND ACCEPTED AS VALID LONG AGO BY APPROPRIATE AUTHORITIES AND VETTING BODIES THAT ARE NOT BIRTHERS (A BIRTHER CONCERN).
It’s time to move on.

One does not dare contradict a member of the Hawaiian branch of the Freemasons and live to tell about it.

Why, after 20/24 lawsuits brought to SCOTUS, don’t they (SCOTUS) say that obama was born in the US and thus qualified…it would put a stop to any future lawsuits, no?
What is the meaning of “no legal standing” before SCOTUS?
TN Mom on July 27, 2009 at 11:10 PM
I believe it means that SCOTUS decided that the party bringing the suit has no legal right to initiate that particular lawsuit.
runner on July 27, 2009 at 11:15 PM
By refusing certiorari the supreme court is in effect dismissing the claim without as not having merit. At least in this instance.
Squid Shark on July 27, 2009 at 11:16 PM
But the suits passed the lower courts to get to SCOTUS, so, the lower courts believed there was merit??!
BTW, my interest in these lawsuits before SCOTUS was really piqued when I read justice ginsberg voted for roe v wade thinking it was to ‘limit undesireables’…
TN Mom on July 27, 2009 at 11:24 PM
Refusing cert is the right of SCOTUS, there are two main reasons that cases are denied cert. Once is that they feel that the case has already been dealt with before the court, another is that they feel that there is not enogh merit or valid constitutional question involved.
Squid Shark on July 27, 2009 at 11:28 PM
How is this ‘smart politics’? They’re admitting there’s a problem.
So let it be written…so let it be done.
I believe only one of the lawsuits has gone before the Supreme Court. My understanding is that they wouldn’t hear the case because the plaintiff couldn’t show that he was in any way directly injured.
Dr. ZhivBlago on July 27, 2009 at 11:31 PM
right, has nothing to do with merits of the case, that is the case was not dismissed on merits
runner on July 27, 2009 at 11:41 PM
Hey, douchey doucherson… What didn’t you understand about the link I posted?
http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/20090727/BREAKING01/90727082/Obama+Hawaii+born++insist+Isle+officials
WE ALL KNOW AND HAVE SEEN THE COLB. The point is, we’ve twice had this Hawaiian official insist the real BC exists and claims to have seen it. So why won’t Obama spend $10 to release it, when thousands of dollars and many hours have been spent dealing with these court cases?
Again, no one has provided a logical reason for not releasing it.
RightWinged on July 27, 2009 at 11:41 PM

YES! AND HERE IS THE ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION. I wish I had found this YouTube video a long time ago. It’s well worth the ENTIRE 2 minutes and will answer the question why an online digital image is NOT GOOD ENOUGH. After you’re done- POST YOUR REACTION.

I am razzing you because you think a COLB is not sufficient, when it clearly states it is.
You see, Certificate of Live Birth, and Birth Certificate is interchangeable in Hawaii.
You guys are just taking a guess, and trying to figure some angle.
Several years ago they dropped the term COLB, and they just use Birth Certificate or Certificate of Birth. Which is identical to what they used to call a COLB, it is exactly the same, just different terminology.
The COLB is the only birth certificate document that has been given by the Hawaiian Health Services for over 50+ years….learn the law.
Obama can’t get a drivers license with a COLB, like I said, better call the police, because that is the only form of ID that a Hawaiian has regarding his birth…he can’t get a social security, can’t get an ID, can’t get a passport, can’t get a DRIVERS LICENSE without a COLB.
You guys crack me up…….spend a few minutes and read the Hawaiian laws, then spend a few more and go back to 1971 and read the laws.
COLB not used for a drivers license….HAHAHHAHA, you crack me up….
